PROJECT SUMMARY
The Ferndale school will receive a brand-new building, in a multi-million-pound investment. The 21st Century facility will be built at the former ‘Chubb’ Factory at Highfield Industrial Estate, delivering improved facilities for staff, pupils, and the community in 2024.
The proposals will also include ecological enhancement measures including for hedgehog, bats and birds and there will be a landscape strategy with work to boost the biodiversity and ecology of the area.
Enhanced outdoor spaces will support the delivery of all curriculum activities, while a staff car park and bus and parent drop-off point will also be provided on site. The new school building will expand the local Welsh Medium primary offer and will include modern, flexible, and accessible facilities with community use. The new building will also be Net Zero Carbon in operation, supporting the Council and Welsh Government’s climate change commitments. The school is the first of its type to utilise Innovaré Offsite’s psi-FAST sustainable superstructure solution.
