OVERVIEW
Pudsey Sixth Form College is a new, purpose-built £11.4 million facility that officially opened in September 2025, welcoming 600 students aged 16–18. Delivered in partnership with Luminate Education Group, the UK’s largest General Further Education provider, and three local secondary schools, the college strengthens post-16 education provision in West Yorkshire.
Constructed by Caddick Construction, the building prioritises sustainability, adaptability, and student wellbeing. As part of this vision, Supacord carpet tiles were specified across teaching and circulation areas to provide a robust, low-maintenance flooring solution tailored to the needs of a high-traffic learning environment.
Flooring Specification
A range of Supacord colours was used to support both the college’s interior design scheme and practical zoning requirements: Steel Grey, Flint, Orange, Yellow, Onyx, Emerald, and Blue Moon.
This approach created a visually coherent and functional layout, aiding navigation while adding visual interest.
Key benefits of Supacord include:
At entrance points, Hippo entrance matting in Anthracite was installed to help prevent dirt and moisture transfer, extending the lifespan of internal finishes and improving safety.
Installation and Project Delivery
The flooring works were completed by Ryjock Flooring, a contractor with expertise in education and commercial projects. Working alongside the main contractor, Ryjock delivered the installation efficiently and in line with the construction programme.
