OVERVIEW
Pavilion Gardens in Buxton is a treasure trove of Grade II listed Victorian buildings, each overlooking the pristine Gardens from its northern boundary. A wide promenade graces the front, setting the stage for a journey into history. The central Pavilion and Conservatory, cast-iron and glass marvels from 1870, were designed by Milner in the grand style of London’s Crystal Palace. The central hall of the Pavilion, now home to a charming café, underwent rebirth in 1983 after a fire threatened its existence. The Conservatory, once a small concert hall with a stage and organ, transformed into a greenhouse conservatory adorned with tropical plants and a tranquil fish pond in 1982.
