This case study gives an overview of the BCL acoustical bamboo panel system installed at Building 85, Southampton University. This project is the first major UK project to use BCL’s BAMBOO acoustic panel system. The acoustical wall panels, rated as Class C, were installed using BCL’s proprietary secret-fixing system. Subjects covered include: Class C acoustic bamboo panels, designing pre-fabricated wall systems, treatments achieving Class 0 SSF for timber panels.
