Providing up to two hours of fire resistance the Fireroll EW insulated curtain also considerably reduces the risk of combustible materials igniting on the unexposed side when compared to standard single skin fire shutters.
When tested, the radiation transfer remained below 15kW/m² making this product ideal for protecting personnel passing the opening.

The UK & Ireland are the only major European markets where it is NOT mandatory to specify steel personnel fire doorsets and fire doors with both insulation and integrity fire ratings. In a fire situation an un-insulated, hollow metal fire doorset will contain a fire but offer little resistance to the passage of radiated heat. The Teckentrup T60-FSA Fire Resistant steel doorset and fire door is tested to EN1634-1. Bolton Gate Company’s wide range of passive fire resisting products is complemented by the four hour fire resisting horizontal shutter which is capable of closing openings up to 15m in length and 6m in width.
On alarm activation, the shutter curtain formed from heavy duty curved profile laths mounted between fabricated guide channels is driven out electrically along the horizontal.
The bespoke shutter is ideally suited to provide fire integrity compartmentation where equipment or materials need to be transferred between floors. Alternatively, it can be used on travelators and escalator openings that are not specifically used as part of the fire exit strategy.
