Situated in Shamley Green, Surrey, Winters Grace is a beautiful Grade II listed property in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Winters Grade was the home of height of his Hollywood fame. Alfred Hitchcock and his wife purchased the property in 1928 for £2,500. The building was originally a Tudor farmhouse, dating from the 16th century. Over the years the house has been renovated on various occasions, but after planning requests were approved in 2012 the current owners carried out major works to update this very special property.

Alumasc Rainwater gives award winning nursery gardens a new lease of life

David Austin Roses, award winning rose growers and home of the National Rose Collection, has recently installed Alumasc Rainwater steel gutters and downpipes at its nursery tea rooms in Shrewsbury. Following a recent extension they wanted to give the property a new lease of life as the existing plastic rainwater was becoming unsightly and tired. Rainwater specialists Roweaver Developments Ltd recommended the perfect solution for David Austin Roses with Alumasc’s contemporary steel range. The replacement steel guttering complements the timber cladding of the building and fits in with the overall look of its well-kept gardens.

Procter Manufacture and Installation of Cast Stone Replica Balustrade to Grade 1 Listed Hous

This was a relatively simply project for us replacing the original, but time-worn balustrade with cast stone replicas on this important grade 1 listed building. As can be seen in the photos, the cast stone replicas do look overly 'new'. However, and in the same way as they would if more expensive natural stone had been used, they will soon weather and take on a similar appearance to the adjacent originals.

As time went on and the collection amassed, the museum urgently required a renovation to correctly house the rich collection. With certification to LPS 1175 Issue 7: SR2, Xonar 942 has undergone extensive testing, with accreditation awarded by both the LPCB and Secured By Design (SBD). Xonar 942 also eliminates the requirement for auxiliary locking mechanisms. Xonar 942 was the perfect choice of products as it adheres to the Government Indemnity Scheme's restrictions.

Using Digimura 2.1 Wallcovering, Signbox printed and installed a number of graphic artworks at Cardinia Real Estate’s new headquarters in London. Signbox facilitated the process of bringing Cardinia Real Estate’s vision to life, by using Digimura 2.1 Wallcovering in the atrium area. Here, two very large multi-drop wallcovering images were installed, measuring 14.2m wide by 3.8m high. Office Lighting for a Grade II Listed CAT B Fitout. Sion Hall, London.

The iconic Grade II listed building Sion Hall has been recently transformed to a modern 16,813 sq. ft high specification office space to suit a specific tenant. We supported the workplace specialist with product specification, lighting design and calculations. 3D visuals were created to support the client to visualise the complex space. The performance driven office luminaire Rio Suspended was used across the office for general lighting. Slim linear profile Leck was used in the SAS ceilings in the Tech room. The Nile Surface was used around the perimeter of the Oak room.

In 2014 landmark building No1 Aire Street underwent a dramatic transformation. The Grade II listed, 1930s Art Deco property is in Leeds City Centre Conservation Area. Significant consultation with Leeds City Council planning department and the owner Network Rail’s planners was carried out to ensure the proposals were historically compatible with the existing building. Almost a hundred original steel windows had to be replaced as sympathetically as possible but with a product which would bring improved thermal efficiency. Clement EB24 suite of bespoke steel windows was specified for the project offering high specification along with elegant, robust frame sections.

The Old Court House was on the verge of collapse when purchased by its current owner. The Local Planning Authority had placed a Section 106 agreement on the property detailing its rescue from dereliction and were preparing to increase its listing status to Grade I as it was rumoured to be a hunting lodge gifted by Queen Elizabeth to Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester. Dating carried out during the course of the works confirmed that the building had been constructed in phases between 1526 and 1613.

The conversion of a centuries-old house in Soglio presented an interesting challenge to the interior designer and the joiner. The end result is a residential house where the old building fabric and modern comforts complement one another perfectly. The interior designer and the joiner worked closely together to develop the interior. A sliding partition wall separates the bathroom from the bedroom. HAWA Junior 80 Z hardware makes sure it slides smoothly and quietly. Although sliding partition walls are rather atypical for the building type and its era, they are perfect for a house with confined spaces and slanting walls.

Welsh Slate helps give a London landmark a new lease of life

Roofing slates from Welsh Slate's Cwt-y-Bugail quarry were specified for the new-look Royal Pagoda. Welsh Slate roofing slates have played a “critical” role in the award-winning renovation of one of London’s most unusual buildings. A two-year conservation project to restore the roofs, and 80 decorative dragons, on the 18th Century Great Pagoda in the World Heritage Site of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew will give the public access to the upper floors for the first time in decades.

Exeter Grade II Listed Building Recieves New Fully Built-Up IKO UPXL System


IKO provided a new fully built-up IKO Ultra Prevent System including an IKO enertherm ALU Tapered Insulation Scheme. This not only enhanced the falls to drain rainwater more effectively but also upgraded the thermal value of the roof which will save the Pre-School money on their heating bills. IKO designed a bespoke solution, in keeping with the building’s grade II listed status which also assisted with achieving the u-value upgrade required for current building regulations. The client was highly satisfied with an IKO 25 year single point warranty.

Multiple Listed Buildings at historic site revived using Clement steel windows

Following consultation with the city planning department, Mather & Ellis Stonemasons ordered Clement W20 steel windows for phases 3,4 and 5 of works completed during 2014. Steel windows were replaced in many of the University’s fine buildings including The Beyer Building, John Owens Building and The Christie Library. Although the Clement W20 steel window system was used throughout, every building had individual design and installation specifications to maintain the correct appearance.

This was a new venture for Phillips Digital, who usually operate within the more traditional areas of the digital print market. However they rouse to the challenge, created continuous images across a number of windows, using multiple Décortex™ roller blinds. With clever installation of Digimura Wallcoverings, onto both walls and ceilings and the application of various display products throughout; Phillips Digital have combined interiors products and exhibition graphics, to create an environment, which transports the visitor back in time.

City & Country have created an selection of exquisite apartments at Bentley Priory, a Grade II* listed18th Century Mansion House and adjoining historic buildings. Clement supplied all the conservation rooflights for the stunning development which is set within 57 areas of parkland. The Clement 6 range, in a slate profile, was specified for its fine looks and to fill the living areas with light. The slate profile ensured a beautiful, flush finish on the outside in keeping with the magnificent property, as well as a sophisticated appearance on the inside to match the luxurious feel of the rooms.

Office Lighting for a Grade II Listed CAT A Fitout. 4 Tavistock Place, London.

Located on the south side of Tavistock Place, in the heart of the intellectual hub of London, the recently refurbished 4 Tavistock Place offers approximately 8077 sq ft of high specification CAT A modern office space and boasts fantastic outside space and terraces. Full lighting design and calculations alongside luminaire schedules were produced for the office space and communal areas by the team to ensure the correct light levels were achieved. The linear profile Rio Suspended was used across the scheme as the main office lighting. Several LED downlights from 299 range have been supplied for the communal areas.

Clement replace steel windows at landmark Grade II listed Old Marylebone Town Hall

Clement Windows Group have replaced the original steel fenestration at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, recently leased by the London Business School from Westminster Council on a 35 year renewable contract. In order to increase teaching facilities by 70 percent, the building has undergone a major £60m refurbishment and Wates Construction were chosen as the Main Contractors to undertake the challenge of joining the two iconic buildings in an eclectic mix of the traditional and contemporary. The new building, designed by architects Sheppard Robson, is named the Sammy Ofer Centre in honour of the late Sammy Ofer KBE.

Former Church gets new lease of life, after being renovated into four superb homes

Sensitivity was key when renovating this property and the majority of the original features have been preserved. Original stone walls, lintels and cills have been repaired and impeccably replaced. The walls and roofs have been insulated and energy saving measures implemented to create a comfortable, efficient living environment. Although it was possible to restore some of the original fenestration, double glazed replacement steel windows were still required throughout the building. Clement were thrilled to manufacture these new steel windows and doors.

Former Church gets new lease of life, after being renovated into four superb homes

Charters Property recently purchased this deconsecrated church and have transformed the building into a prestigious development of four fabulous homes. Sensitivity was key when renovating the property and the majority of the original features have been preserved. Various Clement ranges were used to meet the different requirements of the project - the Brooking range was used for the beautiful arch head windows on the front elevation, EB16 was used for other windows where silicone fronting was not required and W20 was used for the steel doors. Clement 2 and 4 Conservation Rooflights were also specified to let more light in.

The National Holocaust Centre and Museum in Nottinghamshire, UK aimed to capture individual testimonies, secure artifacts and gather historical information, to bear witness to the atrocities of the Holocaust. Bright White, an innovative and creative design consultancy, were responsible for the filming, software development and integration, with Electrosonic subcontracted to engineer, deliver and install the presentation system and a specialist interactive developer, D3t, subcontracted to deliver the speech recognition technology.

Cork Flood Screen for Cast Iron Air Bricks - an innovative and simple solution to flood defence in period properties and listed buildings

The cast iron flyscreen air brick has the advantage of protecting the property from insect and rodent ingress but can help stop flooding with this innovative and simple barrier. The flood screen is a cork gasket for our single and double flyscreen air bricks and is simply inserted in the air brick when flooding is likely or imminent in place of the fly mesh. Once the danger has passed the copper fly mesh is replaced and the cork flood screen stored away safely until require again. It is available with our 9x3 and 9x6 cast iron air bricks here

Stamford Station Refurbishment Project

As part of the Railway Upgrade Plan, Platform 1 at Stamford Station in Lincolnshire was recently refurbished. Careful consideration resulted in the use of Twinfix Multi-Link-Panels Non-Fragile to replace the old curved corrugated roofing of the canopy and the end result is more in keeping with the original age and design of this elegant Grade II listed building. Passengers and staff are now all benefiting from the high levels of natural light that floods the platform.

St Mark Church Dais Staging

CPS worked with the vicar and churchwarden at St Mark in the Salisbury to provide a new church dais. Seven Alu Rapid platforms and eight custom staging platforms were manufactured and installed. The custom platforms bridged the chancel steps and fit around the church pillars. There were also two bespoke Alu Rapid ramps and timber steps installed. The staging platforms were covered in Heckmondwike Supacord carpet which fitted around the electrical socket boxes.

Disley Methodist Church in Stockport contact CPS about creating a small bespoke stage. There were 9 Alu Rapid staging platforms provided with some bespoke platforms. A wood communion rail, veneered risers and a carpeted surface was also provided with the church's stage.

EXEC Demountable Staging For Spectator Seating

Events centre EXEC in Peterborough requested a demountable spectator grandstand for their events. CPS Manufacturing installed a demountable tiered stage for the spectators. CPS installed 80 Alu Rapid platforms as well as handrails. The staging platforms are waterproof and anti-slip. As the stage needed no sway bracing, it will be easier to assemble and demount the grandstand when required.

Antrim Bus & Rail Station


The hard-wearing vibrant finish of Tobermore’s Pedesta block paving provided a functional and visually attractive finish for the refurbished trafficked area and train platforms at Antrim Bus and Rail Station in Northern Ireland. Tactile Flags were also implemented as an essential sensory health and safety measure on the train platforms and on crossing zones at the station.

Exeter Cathedral Staging

In 2013, CPS Manufacturing worked with Exeter Cathedral's Fabric Advistory Committee and Camilla Finlay (the architect for the cathedral) to provide staging platforms for the nave altar, lectern podium and bishop's seating. CPS provided bespoke staging platforms decked in 22mm Junckers solid oak hardwood flooring. The solid oak floor complimented the aesthetics of the cathedral.

Hill House School Staging and Demountable Seating

Private school, Hill House School in Doncaster requested two staging systems from CPS. One stage was used as the performance stage with a full curtain, lighting and sound system as well as cost-effective black Alu Rapid staging platforms. The other stage was to be used as demountable tiered spectator seating including carpeted Alu Rapid platforms to reduce audience noise levels and handrails on each side.
