A new outdoor dining area has been created for The Buckingham School thanks to a series of robust and comfortable picnic tables from Broxap.

The new Centre for Immersive Storytelling at the Royal Holloway University of London has been designed to provide education in virtual and augmented reality technologies. This modern building stands adjacent to the University’s signature gothic Founder’s Building, providing a conflicting mixture of architectural design styles. The external social areas were brought to life with 14 Plateau Picnic Tables, creating a vibrant space suitable for studying and socialising, with the connected benches seating up to 12 people. The High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) picnic tables are both attractive and durable for outdoor use, ideal for busy and energetic students.

On this fast turnaround project we worked closely with Apteriors; Interior Design and Furniture Specialists and McLaren Construction to manufacture and supply outdoor concrete furniture for new multipurpose recreation and study area for New Regent’s College in London. Living Concrete supplied 4 large Let’s Dine Concrete Tables and 12 concrete cube seats with oak cladding which were assembled on site and finished with a specialist sealant. In 2020, Hewlett Packard Enterprises relocated to The 210 Building, an inspiring office development in the heart of Winnersh Triangle. Working with architects, Perkins and Will, and BW Construction, Style was specified to create an extensive range of flexible space within the meeting rooms as well as a chic, collaborative working environment.Using a combination of 52dB Dorma Hüppe semi-automatic Variflex glass moveable walls, 55dB solid semi-automatic Variflex moveable walls and Style’s ingenious ‘working wall’ pivot panels, a supremely flexible and stylish training and meeting suite has been created. Hewlett Packard employees enjoy a contemporary environment with the freedom to rapidly change room configuration as often as required. The 210 Building offers 62,000 sq ft of newly refurbished office space, of which 31,000 sq ft has been let to Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Aiming to enhance the work/life balance of employees and staff located in the Winnersh Triangle, the Park offers a plethora of amenities including fitness facilities, cafes, open spaces for walking and cycling, an on-site nursery and even its own dedicated railway station. “This is a stunning installation,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director. “Everything about it is first class, making this a project we’re incredibly proud of.“The Variflex moveable walls offer top-end acoustic integrity, which means meetings and training sessions can take place undisturbed. The combination of glass and solid panels deliver a wonderful blend of privacy and transparency, while bringing a light and airy feel to the floor space.“The mix of fabric and writeable white board finishes offer a chic interior design yet a practical one too, and the pivot panels offer the perfect solution for collaborative working and break out groups.”Style’s agile, floating panel ‘working walls’ remove the usual barriers of meeting and training rooms, segregated work desks and cubicles, instead offering companies a space where individuals can group together, team up quickly on projects, share ideas and change their environment to suit the task in hand.

Neaco’s Techdek aluminium decking has been specified for an innovative internal cycle park at the XYZ building, a cutting edge workspace in Manchester designed by Cartwright Pickard. Robert Phillips, Associate at Cartwright Pickard, said: “We specified Techdek for the cycle ramp due its robust construction and the simplicity of its design – the modular nature of its construction, its excellent drainage capabilities and the ribbed profile for surety under foot. The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, is one of the countries most valued heritage sites and contains many rare, unique and priceless artefacts.GEC Anderson stainless steel sinks and worktops were specified in a recent refurbishment of some of the Museum’s restoration and conservation rooms. Mica Architects included stainless steel worktops, sinks and tables from GEC Anderson’s Decimetric range. The Decimetric system offers a modular range of sizes (based on 100 millimetres = 1 decimetre) increments, providing cost effective solutions with a tremendous range of sizes and options. The range includes sinks, worktops and tables but also shelving, base cabinets, wall cabinets and tall cabinets.

Barr Gazetas worked closely with BW: Workplace Experts and Glazing Vision on the remodelling of this contemporary yet classical office building which involved creating an accessible private terrace for staff and clients to enjoy the views of central London, as well as providing the 6th floor with natural daylight. Utilising a terrace in densely populated areas such as London is a great way to provide a building with more accessible space. Originally the 6th floor offered 2,821 sq ft of space, but with the addition of the terrace area, this increased to 3,790 sq ft.Not only does an accessible terrace supply you with extra room, but, in London, the presence of a roof terrace typically adds 12% to the value of a property, rising to as much as 25% in coveted Chelsea. Other benefits of access rooflights include improved natural ventilation, control of interior temperatures, and the result is also beneficial to the aesthetics of a building such as 6 Duke Street. Barr Gazetas chose Glazing Vision not only due to our vast experience in designing and manufacturing access rooflights, but also for our ‘start to finish’ service. On this particular project, the sliding section when open provides a clear opening of 1927mm on the left side when viewed from the outside and is glazed on the front and top with a built-in fall of 3 degrees, and mounted to walls at the rear and two sides. Project: Goole Town Center, YorkshireGOplastic Ltd were delighted to be contacted by the architectural assistant at East Riding Council with a view to getting involved with town centre improvement.Goole Town Centre has now been furnished with the very latest modern and contemporary designs available from Goplastic, with a contrasting colour theme to great effect. Historically, recycled products tended to be basic in style and brown or black but GOplastic has successfully accomplished its’ vision to bring unique designs with more colour into the materials, which are now in demand in schools, academies, leisure centres and public spaces. The Matrix 08 Picnic table (pictured), is 2m long and seats 6 – 8 comfortably. The Matrix 05 bench (also pictured), can be teamed with the London table as shown, or serve as a single bench seat with back. Planters from the Agora range complemented the seating range.

With a steadily expanding workforce of 200+ highly skilled software engineers, space is at a premium at Amazon’s development centre in Edinburgh. Working with architect, Hassell, and contractor, Clark Contracts, Style was specified to deliver a partitioning solution that would enable the open-plan conference and training room to be segregated into smaller rooms, as required.Installing two Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable walls either side of a central column, the large area can now be quickly split into two individual rooms.With an incredible 59db Acoustic rating, this is almost an entirely sound-proofed solution, which means there is no disturbance from events taking place either side of the wall. The fabric wrapped Kvadrat Lloyd finish is the perfect complement to the contemporary interior décor.“This easy to manoeuvre, manual moveable wall is the ideal solution when you want to quickly sub-divide space and turn one room into two,” said David Louden, Style’s director for Scotland.“The Variflex panels are manufactured separately to the frame, making it cost-effective to replace a single panel lining if damage occurs, or to update all the panels when the room is re-decorated in the future.“Further contributing to a low carbon footprint, the Variflex moveable wall has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, making it a highly sustainable system.”Style has also been commissioned to provide the Amazon development centre with a programme of planned servicing and maintenance, helping ensure an extended working life for the moveable walls.“A regular check-up ensures continued smooth operation, compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, and for acoustic moveable walls, it also ensures its acoustic integrity remains intact,” said Louden.“Regular servicing also minimises the chance of any minor issue escalating into a more expensive repair later down the line. Hall 90 B is Volkswagen’s new centrepiece facility for the development of electromobility. The building brings a new dimension to Volkswagen’s e-campus. Q-railing’s easy to install Easy Glass Slim glass balustrade system provided the architects with an affordable and slender solution that contributes to the open feel of the interior design. Around 800 metres of glass railing, topped with a high-grade stainless steel cap rail, were installed on the building’s galleries and bridges.

G Harding Flooring are nationwide flooring contractors. The company specialises in bespoke designs and installations. It has worked with some of the UK’s largest brands, in all sectors from hospitality to healthcare.

The Living Concrete team provided design consultancy and were selected to project manage the delivery of a new kitchen for a celebrity chef.The glass fibre reinforced concrete central island, table-come-workbench was manufactured using our special GRC BTX concrete, which is lighter and stronger than traditional concrete. We used our unique eco concrete mix technology with a hydrophobic agent to limit moisture absorption. The individual elements were precast in our workshop for assembly on site and then hand polished and treated with a specialist sealant. Large format GAP wall panels with concrete caps in Mist Rough finish completed the design.Living Concrete’s worktops and tables are extremely strong and durable and can be used indoors or outdoors. By using the best of modern technology, we have created a contemporary and elegant space that demonstrates how concrete can be both good looking and functional.

It was critical to specify the correct colours for Food Chain and Salsa Mexican Grill, to ensure the brand identity was standardized throughout, with no variance. Both the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, and Hybrid Wood Protector range was applied to counters, wall cladding, bulkheads, table tops, counter fronts, chairs, benches and door frames.

In 2018, BioInnovation Institute constructed its new facility in Copenhagen. They required 2.300 square meters of lab space. This was needed to help life science startups accelerate their research. Four Formica® Laminates from the Formica® Collection transform a residential kitchen project with bespoke carpentry. Laminate was chosen to create kitchen doors, shelves, worktops and even an accessible spice rack and a matching dining table. All decors chosen featured a Matte58 finish offering a smooth texture that provides low-level light reflection and minimal maintenance for the owner. 

A stylish redevelopment of a courtyard at Stratford University. The project needed products that matched the aesthetic of the Stratford Cultural Quarter landscape. Artform were chosen as the preferred supplier on a range of architectural street furniture. The Parc Vue range of case style furniture was specified. The package included the Parc Vue Tables and Chairs by Landscape Forms along with a selection of sleek stainless steel bins and bollards, and elegant timber and steel benches.

F. Ball products have been used to install carpet and vinyl floorcoverings as part of the refurbishment of Grade A Listed building, The Russell Institute in Paisley, Scotland. Stopgap 1200 Pro smoothing underlayment with its fast setting and fast drying properties was applied over a 700m2 area. Styccobond F3 flooring adhesive, which has high strength and good wet grab, was used to adhere the carpet floorcoverings. Finally, Styccobond F44, a solvent-free acrylic emulsion adhesive with strong initial tack and high bond strength, was used to secure the vinyl floorcoverings, providing the listed building with an aesthetically pleasing floor finish.

THE PROJECTThe Great Minster House project is a high-end residence that features a freestanding bank of H1 lateral mailboxes. The mailboxes were fitted onto a bespoke table support created specifically for the project. Once mounted upon the table, the mailboxes were back-fixed to the rear wall to maximise stability and security of the items.The mailboxes were designed in conjunction with the project architects to ensure the style and design of the mailboxes chosen was the most appropriate for the project.The mailboxes used in this project feature engraving which has been centralised on the front opening door. The engraving has been filled with a gold colour finish which matches the brass locks used on the mailboxes. The engraving identifies each mailbox using incremental numbering, allowing the residents and postal delivery workers to easily find the specific mailbox required.The mailboxes were finished in a bespoke ‘Bitter Chocolate – Matt’ finish (Product code BS 08B29) to meet the specific branding guidelines set out for the project. The Safety Letterbox Company offer a range of RAL colours as standard at no extra cost, but can supply any RAL colour or BS finish at an additional cost.

The project objective was to create a dynamic space for a large range of use by the members. An example of this is the boardrooms, which had to be designed to create a space that could cater for 4 simultaneous separate meetings or the flexibility to cater for 2 x 50 seater conferences as well as a 90 seater conference style space. Folding acoustic walls and organic puzzle-piece boardroom tables that fit together to create near endless configurations to solve this.

Enfield Town Park is a 9.5-hectare green open space in the heart of the Enfield Town, north London. Following a series of consultations with the public and park user groups, works were undertaken in to restore the lake, reinstate public access to it, repair the leaks, and add wildlife friendly features to the area. Furnitubes supplied two types of products to the scheme – concrete Blyth cube seating blocks and Parallel table and bench sets.

A prestigious four-star hotel in Surrey gets a stylish enclosed pergola structure to suit the ambience and scenery of the location. This historic hotel’s large paved terrace area with outdoor BBQ was only equipped with some tables and chairs, and so only used on dry days in the summer months. The hotel's event team wanted to create a new flexible outdoor space that could guarantee availability for bookings throughout the year, whatever the weather....
