Woodlands is a family-run resort located in the breathtaking landscape of Glencoe, Scotland. In addition to a whole host of activities on offer, including "the best 9 hole course in Scotland" as described by Bunkered Magazine, Woodlands give you the opportunity to experience pure indulgence during a stay in one of their spectacular cabins. Our Premier deck boards were specified for RiverBeds, their set of ‘Luxury Wee Lodges’, where guests can nestle themselves into nature with everything one could possibly need for a magical and memorable escape from reality. Decking was installed on the private verandas of each cabin, overlooking the river, and around the hot tub. Individual decking boardwalks and steps were also incorporated, weaving guests through the trees and safely up to their accommodation. Gripsure non-slip timber decking offered the perfect solution for this project being both a practical and attractive choice. Whereas the safety of guests is of the most importance, especially during the winter months where the cabins offer a snowy, and some times icy, retreat, Woodlands also needed a modern-looking product which could blend in with the luxurious look and feel of the lodges, as well as its natural surroundings. “We looked long and hard for a product that was tough, durable and beautiful. For many hotels, adaptable space is key to maximising revenue from hiring out of function rooms. Recognising this, Rushton Hall, a magnificent Grade I listed country house hotel in the Midlands, contracted Style to add flexibility to the newly refurbished Library and main function rooms, allowing privacy when required but also ensuring the area could be opened out for larger gatherings. DORMA Variflex was agreed as the most suitable moveable wall for this historic building and Style installed two separate partitions to give maximum flexibility across three rooms, all in a stunning finish to complement the elegant interior design.

Designed throughout for adaptability, space at the new Emily Wilding Davison building, Royal Holloway University, benefits from the installation of numerous moveable wall systems. Partitioning experts Style, worked closely with contractor, Geoffrey Osbourne, and Associated Architects to assist and advise on the design, bringing practical, aesthetic and cost-saving benefits to the project. Demonstrating Style’s extensive portfolio, the final arrangement involved a 50 dB Rw DORMA glass wall in a seminar room, a DORMA Variflex system on which art can be displayed, two 56dB Rw acoustic DORMA moveable walls and a 46dB Rw folding wall dividing meeting/ training rooms.

The Royal Zoological Society of ScotlandGripsure has teamed up with wildlife conservation charity, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, to help create an incredible home for Scotland’s only sloths. Moana and Feira have settled in well at Edinburgh Zoo and have been busy exploring their new surroundings (albeit very slowly). They are set to become a visitor favourite and have already begun to draw in the crowds.Gripsure donated 60 square metres of sustainable anti-slip Bamboo decking. It has been used to create visitor walkways through the recently refurbished enclosure. The space is full of greenery and designed to feel just like home for two-year-old male Moana, nicknamed Mo, and one-year-old female Feira, known as Fe.A special partnershipThis unique project - the result of a special Corporate Sponsorship Partnership between Gripsure and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland - also features Gripsure Graphics. This innovative new non-slip decking has been used to create fun, educational messaging around the enclosure.Staff said Gripsure decking had helped to establish the perfect environment for the new arrivals – and their fans. “The decking featured in the main walkway flows incredibly well with the exhibit, allowing our visitors to walk right through and become immersed in the natural look and feel of the space, which is wonderful,” said Beccy Angus, Head of Discovery and Learning at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.Beccy added: “Being able to add our own artwork was a huge positive for our charity. The ability to personalise the decking meant we could completely tailor it to the enclosure, making it one-of-a-kind and offer more opportunities to engage our visitors with educational interpretation and signage.”A new home for Scotland’s only slothsThe zoo’s two-toed sloths have joined large hairy armadillos Nymeria and Diogo in the Sloths and Armadillos building, which tells the story of wildlife in South America. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has been supporting conservation partners in South America, the sloth’s native home, for more than a decade.Conservation and sustainability are at the heart of this new area, which made Gripsure a natural partner. Beccy said the team was delighted with the results. “Gripsure’s generous donation has helped our charity create and deliver a first-class visitor experience within our new sloth building,” she said. “As a wildlife conservation charity, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Bamboo was selected as a sustainable material both in the immediate production and in the future as it can be recycled.”Bamboo: a sustainable futureThe bamboo poles used to manufacture the Bamboo decking, which is used at Edinburgh Zoo, are harvested after just five years. This makes them the fastest growing timber in the world.Tom Anderson of Gripsure said: “Edinburgh Zoo were seeking a long lasting sustainable timber but were keen to avoid using tropical hardwoods as logging is destroying the sloth’s natural environment in South America. We recommended Moso bamboo, the giant grass species which can grow up to 80cm per day in the growing season. This species also stores huge amounts of carbon in its vast root network in the forests.”Gripsure manufactures the boards using a heat treatment, which protects the timber from decay and insect attack and gives the boards an expected service life of at least 35 years.Moso bamboo has a class one durability rating, a Euroclass B fire rating, extremely stable with virtually no movement. A study from Delft University shows that, even taking into account the transport and manufacturing process, the product is a net carbon sink over its life span.Connecting people with wildlifeThe sloths are said to be settling in well after arriving at the zoo from Europe. Moana came from Aquazoo Friesland in the Netherlands and Feira arrived from Wilhelma in Germany.Expert staff at Edinburgh Zoo are keeping viewing hours limited for the first few weeks to allow the pair adapt to their new surroundings, complete with plenty of trees and ropes to explore at their own pace. Beccy said: “We hope that by welcoming this well-loved species we can help visitors foster a deeper connection with nature and inspire future conservationists to better protect wildlife across the globe.”

Creating a fluid environment to encourage collaborative working, partitioning experts Style, designed and delivered a unique and highly innovative ‘working wall’ solution for Adobe’s new offices in the landmark White Collar Factory building, Shoreditch. The cluster of individual sliding and pivoting wall panels can be used to create numerous sized spaces for impromptu meetings and brainstorming sessions. They can also be pulled together to form a wider temporary wall. Delivering further flexibility, Style installed a fully automatic, Skyfold vertical-rising partition capable of delivering 55dB acoustic privacy, as well as a semi-automatic DORMA Moveo double-glazed operable wall.

This North London family home has undergone a total transformation by our client Sara-Int Renovations Ltd. Two existing extensions have been demolished, the front entrance has been repositioned and the lower ground floor entirely rebuilt. The terrace off the living room was also reconstructed and now benefits from a spiral staircase which connects to the garden. The newly designed house showcases various styles of bespoke Clement steel window door screens and partitions, all with genuine T bars. A hotel in the heart of London’s Mayfair has used Gripsure decking to enhance two of its most luxurious suites.The Mayfair Townhouse is a stunning Georgian building in one of the capital’s most prestigious locations. When plans were put in place to install decked areas outside the hotel’s Garden Suite and its fifth floor Loft Suite, the look had to be in keeping with the style and status of the property. Guest safety was a priority and the product had to meet key requirements.Gripsure fitted the brief and the AA five-star hotel ordered 52 square metres of our Bamboo non-slip decking boards to create two terraced areas for guests to enjoy.The first is outside the Mayfair Townhouse’s open-plan and elegant Garden Suite. Gripsure’s sustainable, FSC-approved Bamboo decking boards work perfectly in the landscaped garden area, allowing guests to enjoy a coffee or breakfast outside while they take in the sights and sounds of London’s West End.The second terrace is on the fifth floor, outside the Loft Suite, one of the hotel’s ‘signature suites’. Here, guests – who travel from all over the world to stay here – can relax as they watch the sunset over the city.“We’re very pleased with Gripsure’s decking,” said Federico Ciampi, General Manager of the Mayfair Townhouse. “When you look at most other decking products, it can look a bit industrial. Gripsure decking has been used in the development of a new sales pavilion at Swanwick Marina in Southampton.The state-of-the-art building, which opened in the summer, provides 14 high-quality units, which are home to some of the biggest names in the boat business, including Ancasta, Fleming Yachts, MiCats, Nautor’s Swan, Nordhavn, Pearl Yachts, Princess Yachts, Sanlorenzo Yachts and Sunseeker International.The sales pavilion, known as The Saltings, uses our MOSO Bamboo X-treme® with Gripsure decking, creating an attractive and slip-resistant space for berth holders.The profile was chosen for its durability and style, which is very much in keeping with the overall look of the marina. To meet the client’s requirements of wanting sliding doorsets rather than pivoting doors on the meeting rooms, Komfort’s Sonik Slide doors were installed. This project gave us the opportunity to use Sonik Slide as our new acoustic pocket double glazed sliding door, which can be specified as a single or double door set within its own unique frameless glass. On this project, Sonik Slide double door sets were specified and installed. Sonik Slide has been designed to focus on ease of installation and to allow light to flood through the workplace whilst ensuring high acoustic performance is maintained.

At Metropolitan Gaming in Mayfair, London, Style worked with architects, Whitebox, and contractors, Modufit Interiors, to create the facility to section off part of the main gaming area for a private VIP lounge. A glass HSW (Horizontal Sliding Wall) was installed, giving staff the ability to rapidly divide the room into two, sectioning off a VIP gaming area to create a unique experience for clients. The moveable wall neatly divides the VIP area away from the main public gaming room, with a lockable full height intermediate door for ease of access. The bronze opaque textured glass allows light to flow through the entire area but offers the level of privacy required for a private room. Decorative transom bars bonded onto the glass add perfectly to the opulent room design.Metropolitan Gaming boasts a wealth of experience in both gaming and hospitality. Saffron Health medical centre has successfully created highly adaptable space where doctors, nurses and other staff can run meetings and training sessions. Working with P&HS Architects and Wildgoose Construction, partitioning experts Style installed two manually operated Dorma Hüppe Variflex ML100 moveable wall systems, allowing the area to be quickly divided into up to three small rooms, as required. This capital investment will deliver a good return in the long run, saving money by accommodating several meetings at one time, avoiding the need to hire external training rooms or to pay for staff to travel to other medical centres.

According to Jovan Nel, head of Style’s moveable wall service and repair division, the need to ensure that operable walls are in good working order has caused a surge in demand. “Businesses, hotels, education facilities, local authority venues, community centres and healthcare trusts have all been booking our technicians to carry out routine servicing and inspections while lockdown restrictions eased,” said Jovan. Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is the biggest public procurement organisation the UK. At its busy offices in Norwich, Style worked with contractor, Sol Services Ltd, to create flexible space in one of the meeting rooms, enabling staff to configure the area into two smaller rooms or to completely open-up the area into one single space.The partitioning experts at Style designed a system that combines two glass folding partitions with impressive 42dB Rw acoustic ratings, alongside a Stylefold 120 solid folding wall with a 50 dB Rw rating, successfully delivering the level of adaptability demanded by CCS.With over 900 employees spread across four UK offices, CCS uses its commercial expertise to help buyers in central government and across the public and third sectors to purchase everything from locum doctors and laptops to police cars and electricity. After standing vacant for some years, the iconic Tower Gardens Pavilion in Skegness has been completely refurbished to create a multi-use council facility. Delivering flexibility to the main hall, partitioning expert Style was contracted to install a Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable wall, successfully creating one large and one smaller room that can accommodate two events running concurrently. Highcliffe School in Dorset originally requested a visit from Style’s service and repair team, to offer advice regarding a moveable wall that was no longer functioning. Having carried out extensive inspection and testing, Style’s technicians concluded that it was beyond repair and that the best solution would be to install a new, Stylefold 120 modern folding wall system. Glasgow’s Edmiston House is a state-of the art facility that incorporates the Rangers Football Club museum, a two-storey Rangers FC store and a spacious events area. To complete the contemporary professional environment that Mills & Reeve wanted, Komfort’s Sonik Slide double glazed sliding doors were installed to all the meeting rooms. The Sonik collection provides enhanced acoustic performance whilst also creating an open-plan modern feel. For the stunning fully glazed atrium, which stretched above the ground floor restaurant, Komfort’s Polar single glazing was used. Polar single glazed is designed with a minimum number of components, and thus facilitates the speed of erection without compromising structural stability and rigidity. Polar single glazing was also used on the office fronts with timber doorframes.
