Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. They specified various flooring solutions for a host of environments within the university: Taralay Impression Comfort, Taralay Elements Compact, Creation 70 LVT and Tarasafe Standard.

In recent years The Government has recognised that village halls, community centres and other charities that provide space and facilities for community services and activities can make an enormous difference to the well-being of their communities. It’s a sentiment borne out by a recent flooring upgrade for a much-coveted youth club and community centre in Nailsworth, in the heart of Gloucestershire.

Over ten years ago The States of Guernsey in the Channel Islands wanted to source 500m2 of sports flooring for The Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre. Taraflex® Evolution sports flooring was specified for their main sports hall.

Taraflex® Sport M Evolution helped to create a clean look for the Kinghorn Community Centre. They benefitted from the comfort and safety provided by this sports flooring.

The John Smith's Stadium installed Taraflex® Sport M Evolution and GTI Max - Fast Track Vinyl Flooring into their sports facility.

Taraflex® Sport M Performance and Taraflex® Isolsport was installed at the English Institute of Sport.

Tarasafe Ultra H2O was installed at the Brent Council Care Home to increase flooring safety for its residents.

Ensuring that their members can enjoy every aspect of the clubs facilities including the exercise meant the type of flooring specified was always going to be key. Taraflex Sport M Evolution would be the chosen product and the gym would need a total of some 324 sq m of this remarkable sports flooring.

Connor Sports Maple was specified for the 1800sq m phase one training facility in the training centre for the Army Reserve.

Taralay Premium Comfort and Mipolam products were used in this project to create a high-quality finish to this educational institute.

Whitby Hospital is a Community Hospital providing inpatient, outpatient and community services. Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust provides community and out of hours services to Whitby and surrounding areas, and currently has a population of approximately 14,000 residents. A selection of Gradus Wall Protection systems alongside Gerflor flooring was specified for this critical ProCure 22 project.

A high-performance levelling compound and adhesives from F. Ball and Co. Ltd. have been chosen to install floorcoverings in the Middle East and Africa’s principal healthcare and research centre for the treatment of burns and trauma, the Ahl Masr Hospital in New Cairo, Egypt.Flooring contractors from Cairo-based Tradelink installed floorcoverings throughout the newly built hospital, including in inpatient rooms, intensive care units, nurse stations, blood donation areas, emergency department, administration centre and corridors, a total area of over 5,500m2.Tradelink began by undertaking moisture tests to ensure that the building’s subfloors were dry enough to receive floorcoverings. Surfaces were then primed using Stopgap P131 general-purpose primer to promote the application characteristics of subsequently applied subfloor preparation products.Stopgap Red Bag was then applied throughout to create a perfectly smooth base for floorcoverings to be installed. The water-mix, self-smoothing underlayment is designed for areas that are subject to light wheeled traffic and can be used over normal underfloor heating installations.Styccobond F44 solvent-free acrylic emulsion adhesive was used to install Gerflor Taralay Impression Compact safety flooring throughout the hospital, with the exception of operating theatres and X-ray rooms. Styccobond F44 provides a high bond strength, strong initial tack along with a long open time and is protected against biodegradation.Gerflor Mipolam Elegance EL5 conductive flooring was installed using Styccobond F57 in the operating theatres and X-ray rooms. Carbon fibres in the adhesive mean that when set it will conduct electricity, so when used to install conductive/anti-static floorcoverings, it stops the build-up of electrical charges that can affect sensitive electronic equipment. The solvent-free adhesive also offers strong initial tack and a high bond strength.Finally, Tradelink used Styccobond F60 contact adhesive to install skirting and capping and coving, as well as anti-bacterial PVC wall-guards, throughout the hospital.
