S&P UK Ventilation Systems was selected to support the new smoke extraction system by providing smoke axial flow fans which also help to optimise ventilation and indoor air quality.

This highly conductive structural floorboard has rapid heat transfer characteristics, enabling a more efficient underfloor heating system.Centrick Property was awarded this 3,500m² contract to construct this development in East Birmingham.

Gerrard House and Hatfield Close, London are three high-rise blocks owned and managed by Lewisham Homes. In late 2017, work began with main contractors United Living, specialist housing consultancy Michael Dyson Associates and consultants 4i Solutions to urgently remove the existing cladding. Once the final panel was removed in December 2017, work commenced to install the A1 fire-rated Argeton terracotta cladding, supplied by Taylor Maxwell and installed by Novo Facades.

It’s great to see our curved perforated panels feature in the ceiling rafts of the new Tessuti flagship store in Liverpool. Fabricated and designed to pattern match, the ceiling features can be found in the main shopping area and changing rooms. These ceiling rafts range from single to triple rings around columns to larger obround and rectangular panels and are supplied in their natural aluminium finish. This highly reflective finish was used to highlight the vibrant column displays and video footage.

A £2.5 million investment at Toronto Primary School in Howden has provided a new purpose-built sports hall, as well as a fully DDA compliant main entrance and safe drop-off area. The ethos of the expansion and development of the school’s facilities was to maintain the unique physical character and immediacy of the school’s grounds and green avenues.The external landscaping has made extensive use of Novara-34 anti-climb fencing. Different heights of fences and gates, 1.8m and 1.2m, secure the main perimeter and subdivide the playground areas. The fence panels were installed with wooden posts replicating the theme of the surrounding tree-lined avenue.Novara-34 was also used to create security screens with gated access for both the Janitor’s entrance and a storage area.The fencing was supplied hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated RAL3007 Black/Red.

The project team responsible for a striking residential property in the Channel Islands used our Dualframe 75Si Windows and the Elegance Curtain Walling, supplied by Pallot Glass & Windows, to match the property's modernist styling, as well as providing outstanding weather performance in a very exposed situation. Island-based Pallot Glass & Windows, was awarded the contract by the main contractor, Hacquoil & Cook Ltd, to supply and fit all of the glazing for the two-storey, five-bedroom Jersey home which has earned wide acclaim and been short-listed for several awards. The package included an entrance screen which combined the Elegance 52 elements with a large bespoke timber door and a fully glazed rear elevation with balconies overlooking the gardens.

The golf course at Gillingham Golf Club is split into two areas on either side of a main road. In recent years the boundary on the road had been demarcated by timber palisade fencing, which although looked aesthetically pleasing, is not suitable for sites where there is a need for a perimeter security fence. To reduce the risk of break-ins and vandalism on the golf course, we supplied 352 metres of 2m high Barbican® fencing, which features a square pale design and has an anti-climb construction.

In 2016, BCM GRC supplied the Victoria Gate Shopping Centre in Leeds, a project designed to resemble a modern Victorian arcade. The triangular-profiled GRC surrounding the main entrance had a preformed mitred junction, specifically designed to aid installation and still look great.A stunning example of GRC in use, Victoria Gate was earning international recognition shortly after its doors had opened. It was crowned the BEST shopping centre in the world at the MIPIM Awards in Cannes in March 2017!

SIG plc has worked closely with Wates Group for a number of years, supporting the main contractor on major construction projects up and down the country. The relationship between the two companies is one that goes beyond what would normally be expected, with Wates relying on SIG for more than just the supply of key construction products. Wates rather draws on the expertise and technical knowledge of the teams at SIG to identify innovative solutions which deliver cost-savings and performance improvements wherever possible.

Aston University invested in developing the campus. This project was to add more seating areas to the external spaces on the campus to encourage use by the students. Artform were approached to supply a bespoke stainless steel seating design. The bespoke elliptical benches were designed to have a wing profile rather than a flat surface for improved comfort. Some Standard seating was also requested and the Libre Seating was chosen as it showed consistency with the rest of the project. The main courtyards within the university campus are now frequently used.

The Grade II* listed building, Sir John Ramsden Court was to be transformed from 12 existing residential flats to office accommodation for the University of Huddersfield, to provide 670 sqm of office accommodation.As part of this transformation, the main contractor Britcon sought a solution to achieve Approved Document E of Building Regulation. With our vast experience with educational projects in the past, we were keen on adding such a respected educational establishment to our portfolio. We supplied our Soundis ChipPanel 28.

Service stations are notorious areas for high intensity traffic, where vehicles brake and accelerate, and where there is also a high concentration of hydrocarbons on the ground: petrol, diesel, lubricating oils.This is the main reason why CNG Fuels Ltd. has specified ULMA Civil F400K and F300K models in Fuel Stations across the country.CNG Fuels already supply 2,000 vehicles a day from its five public access refuelling stations, and a sixth station at Knowsley, near Liverpool, where ULMA drainage channels have being installed. Specified and installed by Air Design Systems Ltd, the installation is providing full smoke ventilation to five separate areas within the store.The second area is the show room and café which were naturally ventilated by louvred ventilators and split into zones using a fixed smoke curtain. A similar approach was taken with the self-serve warehouse and checkout area, which was also naturally ventilated using louvred ventilators and fixed smoke curtains. Polycarbonate blades are used on the louvred ventilators to allow natural light to enter the spaces. Additionally, the escape staircases were ventilated using louvred ventilators at the head of the stairs and a local control panel with an emergency break glass.Project Result“We were involved from the very early in the design stages of the project, using our knowledge and experience of installations within other IKEA stores and warehouses to engineer a suitable, cost-effective solution,” recalled  Air Design Systems Ltd Director Alan Clare.“Within these works we have had to include for three separate main control panels, all electrical wiring run in fire-protected cable, local control panels with emergency break glasses and a mimic control panel linking all smoke ventilation zones. We also provided rain sensors, roof access hatches, and head of lift shaft cowls,” he added.Due to the success of the project, there was a requirement within a year of opening to extend the warehouse area. Air Design Systems Ltd was awarded the sub-contract to extend the system into the new space and link back to the existing control system. In total, a further 14 Powrmatic ventilators were installed in the warehouse roof & walls and at the head of the two additional emergency staircases.Powrmatic’s Roof Opensky ventilators are attractive, low-profile units that have been specifically designed for both smoke and heat exhaust and natural ventilation applications. The Opensky can be roof or wall mounted for exhaust or inlet and can be supplied with a hinged base for use as an access hatch. They are tested for use as smoke ventilators to BS EN 12101-2.

Adcrest Ltd. is an electrical contracting company that was working on a new refurbishment project for Stables Market in Camden, London. Stables Market was in need of a number of new awnings to provide weather protection to the entrances of their shops. They had existing awnings in place that had been there for a number of years and were no longer fit for purpose and therefore needed replacing.

A Howe Green 5000 Series Aluminium Access Cover was supplied to The Fish & Chip Shop in Islington. An unobtrusive access solution was required to cover the kitchen’s essential mains drainage services and provide fast access to them for easy maintenance. The access cover was fitted into quarry-tiled steps leading to the kitchen. It was designed to be virtually invisible to prevent any slips or trips – essential within a busy restaurant environment. The cover is double-sealed which means water or bacteria ingress is preventable ensuring that the highest hygiene standards can be maintained.

In order to keep the students safe at the new site and mitigate the risk of trespassing and vandalism, perimeter fencing and gates were required to secure the grounds, which next to a busy main road also presented the danger of oncoming traffic. We supplied and installed 61 metres of 2 metre high vertical bar Sentry® fencing around the perimeter of the school site. Plus four manual single leaf pedestrian gates to match the fencing, two with push pads to stop unauthorised access from the outside.

The main auditorium of the Theatre has been refurbished with 900 new seats, sound desks and lighting systems, as well as the installation of a café, licensed bar and TV gallery. The foyer, studio theatre and entrance areas have been modernised. As part of the project, Gradus was chosen to supply and fit continuity LED step lighting to provide a contemporary linear effect and complement the new modern interior of the theatre. Not only does step lighting add to the design, but it also allows customers and staff to move around safely in darkened lighting conditions.

The Ecclesiastical cast iron floor grille isn't used exclusively in churches, cathedrals or abbeys. We've supplied these beautiful Scottish made gratings to a number of religious buildings across the country that's for sure but their main use is in "ordinary" period properties and listed buildings. Buildings with large heating pipes sunk into the floor with suspended walkways. Places like Stansted and Rotherfield Hall or National Trust, Mount Stewart Property in County Down and Halls in Melton Mowbray and Stoke on Trent. The developer of the new build flats was Jensco Holdings Ltd and the main contractor was Clegg Construction. The design, manufacture and installation of the windows on the project was undertaken by Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor Kingfisher Windows. As a member of the Approved Window Contractors Scheme, Kingfisher has demonstrated a wealth of experience in the management of large contract supply and installation and working proactively towards on-time and on-budget completion. The company’s track record was one of the factors that saw Kingfisher secure the window contract for Agard Court through competitive tender.

Handsmooth House is a characteristically bright white house perched on a hill overlooking the Oxfordshire countryside. Initiated in 2007, the 837-square-metre house and its 141-square-metre guest lodgings took a decade to complete. Located at Manchester Science Park, Base is Manchester’s newest tech and advanced materials green hub, purpose built for businesses working in Industry 4.0 and for those looking to develop the future talent of the science and tech sector.Taylor Maxwell worked closely with main contractors Caddick Construction, to specify and supply the Corium brick cladding used across the facade. The BBA certified cladding system, manufactured by Wienerberger, was installed directly onto Rainspan composite panels which helped to reduce installation time on site.

The design committee at The Highdown Hotel opted for Hafele's Dialock DT710 door terminal sets for their upgrade, designed and was supplied and maintained by Häfele. An advanced locking and identification system, Dialock uses electronic keys, terminals and programming units to allow authorised access with the option to add on keyless smart phone entry at a later date. All of the Highdown’s guestroom doors, as well as the building’s main entrance, have now been fitted with Dialock. The stainless steel handle sets gave the required contemporary touch to a traditional environment.

When the school decided to replace the existing flooring in the main sports hall the aspects of quality, performance and durability took centre stage. The new sports surface needed to be multi-purpose in order to be able to host exams and school functions, so therefore needed to withstand varied usage and heavy traffic. The College turned to international flooring specialist Gerflor to supply 590m2 of its world renowned Taraflex® Performance vinyl sports flooring to provide the high performing, multi-use solution it was seeking.

A Raised Floor System was nominated for this project in order to ensure full access to cables / services within the flooring. This provides greatest flexibility for the long term function of any commercial building. The stunning design was created by Sheppard Robson Architects who won a design competition in 2005 to create this building. The site was developed by Linkcity with their sister company Bouygues UK as the Main Contractor. Bathgate Flooring was appointed to manufacture, supply and install over 10,000m2 of PSA steel encapsulated panels to create the raised floor system over 7 floors.

Artform were invited to provide advice and supply a co-ordinated range of public realm furniture to a major redevelopment scheme to link Coventry University to the wider community. The client wanted a high end seating solution throughout the main thoroughfare, to encourage people to pause, rest and sit with others whilst journeying through this newly re-imaged public space. There were some technical challenges to the location such as falls in levels across the site. This meant that adaptations had to be incorporated by Artform to assist in the installation of the benches.

Blyth Sports Centre in Sunderland has undergone a creative £5m refurbishment redeveloping it as a ‘wellness hub’. Works include a new state-of-the-art gym and spa together with a modernised pool and changing areas. Designed by JDDK Architects with main contractors Brims Construction, Helmsman Lockers and Cubicles designed, supplied and installed a range of lockers and seating in both the spa and dry areas of the centre. Both sets of leisure lockers were 2-compartment using a Teak and Spring White laminate finish and complemented with matching bench seating.

Clydebank Health Centre is a new £19m health facility being delivered in partnership with hub West Scotland on behalf of NHS Great Glasgow & Clyde. Amtico Spacia Acoustic was chosen for the office space of one of the biggest electrical suppliers in Southern France. 2200m2 of Warm Cherry and Pale Ash from the Spacia Collection was used throughout individual offices, meeting and relaxing areas of the Batiment office. All these spaces have a sound optimisation of up to 18dB reduction and provide comfort underfoot.

Stratum helped create a healthy and fresh environment in the specialist research laboratories based at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital. The space would be heavily used and the nature of the work in the labs required the floor to be hygienic, seamless, easy to clean and with high resistance to chemicals. The design of the building allows the public to see through the windows into the laboratories from street level, meaning aesthetics were equally as important in product selection as functional properties. Stratum installed 800m2 of Pure Design – Bolidtop 525 with integrated skirting throughout. Solution-      Joint free makes for a very hygienic solution, with integrated joint free skirting adding to this.-      Close co-ordination with the contractor, enabled the structure to be sufficiently progressed early in the programme. This allowed the resin to be installed early and fully protected in ample time for the lab benches to be installed over.-      Electrical Floor Bokes, seamless skirting.Result-      The resin flooring installed here is an excellent addition to this multi-award winning building.  “The Bolidt resin provides the perfect seamless floor finish in the main laboratory spaces within the Zayed Centre for Research. These are most visible laboratory spaces within the building, both internally and from the public realm, and a choice of floor finish was important. As well as giving the right visual appearance it provides the functional properties required for these hard working spaces. Pre-installation samples of the resin flooring were tested by the client user team and passed on all technical requirements. The resin floor is used in both dry and wet areas of the laboratory and is easy to maintain. Rooflights deliver top class performance at new-build educational facilityBrett Martin supplied new-build Tauheedul Islam School with a combination of Marvault vault rooflight systems and Glass Link rooflights meeting no less than 2 design solutions.The Marvaults were installed over the stunning refectory in lengths of more than 15 metres and spans of 2.3 metres, where large continuous runs were needed.These vaults provide the optimum combination of light transmission and UV protection and play a crucial role in reducing demand for electric lighting as well as lowering CO2 emissions and running costs. A series of 8 premium Glass Link rooflights then, which met the requirement for high light transmission and thermal performance, were fitted to flood the multi-sports complex with natural daylight. A laminated inner pane also ensures the safety of those below.Both rooflight systems deliver exceptional levels of daylight into the school optimising internal environment conditions. They play a crucial role in both the aesthetic and thermal performance of the school whilst having a positive impact on students’ wellbeing.
