The surface texture of Grey Nebraska Oak provides an authentic feel to the visually weathered wooden surface, whilst the tactile Light Grey Chicago Concrete decor is very well suited to the modern store design.Retail displays and sales unit framing were created using Grey Nebraska Oak, and Light Grey Chicago Concrete features on the store’s eye-catching sales desk.Aspire Interior Solutions were responsible for the design and installation of the project. They chose EGGER laminate to create a contemporary and minimalist interior as required by the client. Warren Beattie of Aspire Interior Solutions said, “We have used EGGER products for some time now and specify them whenever we can. The wide range of decors and finishes, including edging is great. EGGER laminates were chosen for this project and these two particular decors suited the overall store design."

The decor creates a finish in the rooms almost indistinguishable from solid timber, giving a high-end appearance.The Feelwood decor has been used in mixed matching materials 18mm MFC, 38mm MFC, and matching edging.APM Design's Project Director Dean McCluskey spoke to EGGER about the design scheme:"The Ro interiors throughout have been designed to reflect the tranquility of their natural park setting. White Mountain Larch was the perfect choice to create a contemporary yet soft look in the bedrooms, where guests can feel at ease."Explaining why EGGER materials were chosen, Dean told us: "The materials are excellent quality as expected from EGGER. A smoky timber finish was required, and EGGER’s woodgrain decor H3406 ST38 Anthracite Mountain Larch, from the popular Feelwood range, met this brief perfectly.The decor was used to create kitchen doors and end panels, wardrobes, bookcases, and television units. The synchronised deep texture provides a striking surface that is as close as you can get to real wood.Designed by ICA and fabricated by Workspace, the chosen finish has helped to create a relaxing and contemporary interior.Lesley Annison of ICA said, “We frequently specify EGGER products throughout our hotel industry projects as there is always great availability and an extensive variety of products and finishes. We were able to select an EGGER decor for this project that provided our client with the exact look and finish they required.”

True Potential celebrate a contemporary new look for their headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne. Created by Ward Robinson Design, the smart and agile workspace provides mixed work settings including desks, quiet areas and collaboration zones. EGGER woodgrain reproduction H3430 ST22 White Aland Pine was used throughout the project in matching laminate, door size laminate, MFC and ABS edging. The hard-wearing properties of EGGER laminate make it the ideal choice for collaboration zone bench seating, reception counters and internal doors. The versatile material allows for creative elements such as the curved features and logo routering.EGGER's matching material offer means that desks, case goods and decorative slats could be fabricated in cost effective MFC, removing the additional labour of bonding laminate without altering the design concept. Matching ABS edging gives a uniform finish to all of the furniture elements.

The neutral colour pallete brings the maritime world in and provides a calm, comfortable environment.Caledon Court is a 199 bed site next to Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.Designed by HLM Architects and fabricated by Welcome Furniture, students will find their desks, wardrobes, shelving, headboards, drawers, kitchen doors and worktops all feature EGGER laminates.Mhairi-Claire Wilkes of HLM Architects said, “The large variety of contemporary decors by EGGER enhanced our ability to design an exciting and unique space, all within a reasonable budget. The wide range of uses of the product allowed us to create a synergy between spaces and we were able to create a consistent aesthetic throughout.”

Matching edging completes the look.The units are complemented by EGGER worktops in F638 ST16 Chromix Silver in a 38mm postformed format, highlighting the contemporary design scheme with a stone like look and feel. Matching splashbacks are also used.In the bedrooms, a rustic look is added with H3332 ST10 Grey Nebraska Oak. Used in 18mm Eurodekor MFC, the material is an efficient and cost effective choice for case goods including shelving and storage.The project was designed by Nelson and Long. Fabrication was by Flawless Kitchens using EGGER 18mm Eurodekor MFC, ABS edging, 38mm postformed worktops and splashbacks from UK stock.

A 9-storey, 18,000m2, mixed use development at 150 Holborn in the centre of London. It incorporates retail on the ground floor, offices above and 13 apartments in an adjacent block. Architect Perkins & Will specified URSA’s Walltec 32B slab in critical areas of the new build structure.URSA has supplied 1000m2 of URSA Walltec 32B slab as part of the multi million pound development in London. The mixed use scheme replaces a 1980s office block and feature a café, exhibition and reception space, atrium and roof pavilion with rooftop gardens. The overall building height was limited in order to maintain views of the nearby St Paul’s Cathedral.  The new building aims to offer a healthy work place with natural daylight being a key design feature. As a result the design also incorporates measures to minimise solar gains. Additionally the scheme aims to achieve a LEED ‘Platinum’ rating, BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and Fitwel certification. URSA products assisting here with BS EN ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 14001 certification along with a BRE Green Guide rating of ‘A+’.Ian Claydon, Technical Manager at URSA commented: “We worked closely with Perkins & Will in developing the specification for those areas of the external walls incorporating URSA Walltec 32B. Including options for the type of insulation to be used and U-value calculations. A particularly critical requirement was for the insulation to be non-combustible, Euroclass A1”.

The project consisted of 97,718 square metres of floor space and includes a site area of 5,000 square metres, with 284 residential units, car parking, leisure and entertainment facilities as well as business ventures. KEIM’s remit was to coat the existing Bath stone façade to match and blend seamlessly with the new Portland Stone façade.To deal with the potential for the new stone to age differently, KEIM Fixativ was applied to preserve and prevent the surface from getting soiled.KEIM Soldalit in colour 9295 was applied to all the surfaces, followed by a two-coat application of KEIM Restauro Lasur in colours ST019 and ST002 to mimic the new Portland Stone façade.

Falco has completed the roll-out of the UK’s first ever series of smart bike hangars for Brighton & Hove City Council.The scheme which got underway towards the end of 2022, involved the manufacture, supply and installation of smart bike hangars with mobile app access, to provide the seaside resort with a total fleet of 150 bike hangars, equalling 900 secure on-street cycle parking spaces.The 18 month programme involved installing bike hangars across Brighton within four different tranches, at 39 different locations, with hangar number 150 installed on Langdale Road, Hove last week.Each futuristic bike hangar provides Brighton residents with quick and easy accessibility via the users smartphone. The user simply downloads the app, registers for a space, is granted accessibility via the back office and then can access their chosen hangar within seconds. For users without a smartphone, a physical key can be supplied instead.As well as manufacture and installation, Falco is also providing a fully managed service with both app and key rental management for the residents and bike hangar maintenance on behalf of the Brighton & Hove City Council Highways and Infrastructure team.The bike hangars have been extremely popular since installation began in the summer of 2022. More than 95% of spaces have been allocated to residents and over 2000 people are on a waiting list.The programme here at Brighton & Hove, marks the UK’s first ever smart bike hangar scheme roll-out, with a shift towards app and mobile advancement, providing fast and easy access with a users smartphone and completely eliminating the need for physical keys or swipe cards.The smart FalcoPod bike hangar as shown here in Brighton, is a simple and effective facility designed to meet the needs of cyclists who don’t have access to private cycle parking facilities. A slat with a modern, sleek design and a width of 150 mm. When the slats are fully open, the visibility between the slats is 140 mm. The residents can then fully enjoy the beautiful panorama.The aluminum parts are powder coated in RAL 7021, black-grey. The plastic components are finished in black.

A church in one of the first Conservation Areas in Wales has been given a new lease of life, thanks in part to Welsh Slate.Some 130m2 of Welsh Slate’s roofing slates have replaced their 150-year-old predecessors on the roof of the chancel at the Grade II listed parish church of Holy Trinity in Llandudno which was consecrated in 1874.
