An extensive refurbishment to this family home included this beautiful open plan kitchen. The contrasts of the sterling grey, the graphite of the island and the stainless steel of the Gaggenau fridge, freezer and wine climate cabinet compliment each other very well in the light airy room.

The aim of this project, designed by architects « cabinet GMW », in Milton Keynes, was to renovate the workplace with giving it new modern offices, in accordance with the dynamism of the company. These new offices, planned to welcome up to 3000 staff, provide a natural sound comfort thank to Barrisol® microacoustic White matt.

Multiple teapoint sinktops and cafe servery counters as well as cabinets and panelling were supplied to the UK Headquarters of Sony Computer Entertainment.Integral upstands were specified to all wall junctions for easy of cleaning and to ensure good levels of hygiene and durability. All sink bowls are seamlessly integrated.

The fate of seldom-used items and kitchen utensils is clear. They almost always end up in wall cabinets where users can hardly reach them. And when they are needed, even tall people will resort to a step stool − just to make sure they can see and find what they are looking for.

Chaos under the kitchen sink. Sounds familiar? The waste bin takes up too much space, cleaning agents and utensils clutter up the cabinet and lots of storage space is wasted. It’s important to make full use of this often-neglected space and tidy up one of the most used areas in the kitchen.

Four Formica® Laminates from the Formica® Collection transform a residential kitchen project with bespoke carpentry. Laminate was chosen to create kitchen doors, shelves, worktops and even an accessible spice rack and a matching dining table. All decors chosen featured a Matte58 finish offering a smooth texture that provides low-level light reflection and minimal maintenance for the owner. 

We are proud to have been a part of the renovation and expansion works at the 18-hole championship Suffolk Golf Club for the past 12 months. The overall project included vanity units and shelves, basic shower cubicles, saloon door shower cubicles, heavy duty lockers, bench seating and coat hook rails, toilet cubicles and IPS panelling, and boxed in pipework creating a bench seat.

We supplied and installed vertical fins, brise soleil light shelves and louvred rooftop plant screens on Arco’s new five-storey office building – as well as fins and an expanded mesh façade to the 350-space car park.“The overall look of the new development is modern and bold, and has already received many positive comments about its ‘iconic’ appearance,” said Arco’s Estates & Facilities Project Leader, Steve Owen.

North City Operation Depot is a dedicated staff-only depot facility will comprise of an office and welfare building with briefing rooms, training rooms, office accommodation, a serviced canteen, locker rooms, shower facilities, laundry facilities and drying room. The depot is to provide high quality facilities to enable staff to operate more safely, efficiently, and essentially so the City Council meets its climate action targets, based in Ballymun, Dublin.The client requested for leisure lockers with rolled carcases which helps with keeping the lockers dust free, with the measurements to be 1450mm high, 450mm wide and 500mm deep with the colour mixed between Fundermax and Poleyrey. The colours are mixed with wood effect and beige laminate. Within the lockers they decided to have shelves and internal dividers, additionally, in changing rooms they requested shelves, mirrors and drying racks which are 600mm deep, 2450mm long and 2000mm high powder coated in ‘Ice’.Within the leisure lockers they decided to go with was KitLock KL1200 which can keep the staff belonging secure within the lockers. State of the art changing rooms supplied with Fully Framed Cubicles, Wet area Lockers and Cubicles. A mix of Helmsman System 2000 lockers and Glass Lockers situated together totally compliment each other with walnut formica and luscious lime coloured glass doors. These were supplied along with matching vanity shelving and GRP bench seating. The colouring of the Glass shower cubicles and glass toilet cubicles was carefully chosen in a clear interlayer and clear panel glass to bring the overall look of the changing rooms together. This project oozes luxury and quality on all fronts.

Located in the small, but lively town of Bangor, Eclectic, a luxurious mind and body wellbeing retreat, has opened a three-story studio on the main street. The state of the art studio features wall and ceiling slats throughout the tranquil and elegant space in woodgrain decor H1146 ST10 Grey Bardolino Oak, which fits in perfectly with the contemporary interior. Its light colour tones and delicate texture complement the other materials used in the design, to create a warm and inviting space. As well as the slats, the decor was used to create wall units, door frontals and shelving.

Puzl CowOrKing selects our clear whiteboard paint to boost productivity while keeping their colourful walls. Puzl CowOrKing is a coworking space that thinks outside the box for everything they build. From custom desks, shelves, arcades, even sinks they design any space to fit its unique needs. When they wanted to add some additional space for creative collaboration that matched the décor of their meeting rooms they turned to ESCREO. The idea of the wall is to act both as a place for expression but also as a strong design element, something that the clear whiteboard paint was perfect for.

Creating uncluttered storage solutions for learning environments Over the years, the school’s infrastructure has had to keep pace with increases in establishment. One important area of basic school administration is ensuing that areas for children’s personal belongings are provided and that these are kept clean and tidy, free from trip hazards, compliant with health & safety and fire regulations. Like many primary schools, Ferndale used a system of pegs and shelving to accommodate their children’s belongings.Inevitably, with a large number of active children, their coats, shoes, boots and lunch boxes are routinely left on the floor within designated storage areas.

We installed our Marathon Glass Wet Lockers, Cabrillant 600 Toughened Glass Cubicles and Marathon 600 Laminate Cubicles at Cannon Street. The Lockers are finished in Opti-White 10mm Toughened Glass with Mirror end panels and Hasp and Clasp locks. A bespoke interior, with captive coat hangers and aluminium shoe shelves was created. The markets most popular glass Cubicle system, Prospec Cabrillant, is a favourite of Gymbox, and the Black Glass gives an astounding finish reflecting the colour scheme of each changing room. In stark contrast, the WCs were finished in a Matt Solid Grade Laminate.

Space was at a premium in this compact office building, so the self-contained superloos offered the ideal solution without compromising on design. Each individual toilet cubicle includes a WC plus vanity and hand-drying facilities. Washroom's Concerto duct panels are available in wide range of different materials and finishes and here the duct panels were faced with a pale Limed Oak veneer to match the bespoke shelving above each vanity. Its Forza solid grade laminate lockers with secure digital access code locks were manufactured with a Z-style configuration with metallic effect doors and large stylistic black printed numbers.

Due to increased public demand, the existing washroom area had become worn-out from heavy usage. This SieMatic S2 kitchen sits in a recently remodelled contemporary home. The large extension gives an abundance of light to the open plan living area whilst the kitchen occupies part of the original structure. Using a mixture of graphite grey high gloss and titan pine laminate cabinets, Glacier White Corian work surfaces help to balance the darker area with the new bright living space. The result is a surprisingly light and airy kitchen set around a large, dominant central island with seating on one side. The use of Miele appliances and a downdraft extractor finishes off this room well.

Behind the façade of the iconic Grade II Listed Old Chelsea Town Hall, sits Chelsea Sports Centre. As part of a refurbishment of the showers and changing room areas, Washroom installed its flush front glass iLockers, back-painted in dark grey, together with Forte changing cubicles, manufactured from grey solid grade laminate (SGL), complete with unique Perspex integral roof to let in light while providing complete privacy for users and matching Forte toilet and shower cubicles. Washroom also manufactured bespoke ‘Black Quartz’ Corian vanity units and make-up shelves and installed its Legato benching to complete the design.

Scarborough Sports Village includes Prospec Marathon Classic range throughout, with cantilevered and double island bench seating in matching solid grade laminate. Prospec Marathon wet lockers, which include an aluminium carcass for wet areas, are a mixture of 1, 2, 3, and 4 tiers, and feature our new £1 coin return lock. Other products included within our installation would be our Marathon Classic fully framed cubicles, postformed solid grade laminate vanity units and grooming shelves, and floor to ceiling IPS (duct panel systems). This project also features our Disabled Access lockers which comply with Sport England recommendations.

This is the fourth branch the luxury gym brand has opened in London and the second we’ve delivered eye-catching luxury shower and changing rooms for. We manufactured our Luminoso glass shower cubicles with bespoke saloon style cubicle doors specifically for Barry’s Boot Camp to create a sleek contemporary finish without external door pull handles. The unique cubicles were completed with black finish ironmongery to complement the black tiles around the showers. We also designed and installed bespoke Corian vanity units and grooming shelves, which were manufactured in the dark grey and heavily veined ‘Cosmos Prima’ colour, adding to the industrial-chic style of the changing area. 

Angel Gardens is one of Manchester’s newest, purpose built, residential developments and is located in the fashionable Northern Quarter of the city.Residents of the development enjoy a ‘clubby’ feel to their living environment with a number of exclusive facilities included within the high-rise building. As well as cinema and gym areas, the roof terrace on the 9th floor boasts not only a barbegue / bar / entertaining / dining area but also a football pitch. Included in the roof-top oasis is an outdoor kitchen, supplied and installed by GEC Anderson. Comprising of stainless steel base cabinets, a continuous stainless steel worktop with integral sink and back upstand, the kitchen is used for functions and generally to cater for requirements of visitors to this level of the building.

Grantley Hall is a dashing 17th-century stately hotel, bringing Gstaad glamour to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Offering 47 exquisite bedrooms alongside Michelin-starred dining, the hotel has recently reopened after a four-year long and multi-million pound refurbishment. Bedrooms are decorated in elegant muted tones; soft shades of cream, gold and grey; button-back velvet armchairs; marble-topped bespoke furniture; and upholstered bedheads. There are shelves of modern hardbacks, televisions hidden behind paintings, decanters of damson gin, touch-button lighting, and even a bathrobe menu. Müller & Müller Denistry Practice, Rennerod GermanyInstaller: GeschwenderProduct: Geschwender Bespoke Furniture and DesksGeschwender designed and installed bespoke HPL furniture to their local dentist office in Rennerod.In addition to the backlit branded front desk Geschwender built custom dentistry cabinetry to the treatment room with a solid surface inset sink and dispensing hatches for gloves and tissue below the high-level cabinets. Specialist drawers and inserts were also made to securely hold tools.Using HPL for sanitaryware in a clinical environment means all the furniture can be cleaned regularly and thoroughly with almost any cleaning agents and suspended dispensers reduce touch points to reduce the risk of cross contamination.

GEC ANDERSON OFFERS PRISTINE PERFORMANCE FOR UCS SPORTS PAVILIONThe fit out of a major new academic sports facility in North London has included the selection of custom built sinks, work-surfaces, shelving and other stainless steel units, manufactured and installed by sector specialist, GEC Anderson.The University College School Sports Pavilion in Hampstead has been designed by Marcus Beale Architects (MBA) with LIFE Build Solutions of High Wycombe filling the role of main contractor. The area was farmland until the 20th century. The use as playing fields dates from the 1920s.The 18th month project encompassed upgrades to the schools playing fields themselves and the erection of a two-storey structure with extensive changing room facilities, showers and toilets on the first floor. The comprehensive catering facilities include kitchens large enough to serve a dining area which can seat 200. Amongst the stainless steel fabrications designed and fashioned by GEC Andersons highly experienced workforce are a number of base units which combine with single section work-surfaces, sinks and splashbacks to create an easily cleaned, hygienic and ergonomic working environment.As well as the actual kitchen, GEC Anderson also supplied adjustable wall shelving and an L-shaped, three level base unit for a food storage and preparation area. In several places GEC Andersons site survey and subsequent liaison with the project team, which also included The Litmus Partnership Ltd. Catering Consultants, led to units being tailored to fit around structural columns and to accommodate different sized pieces of catering equipment.The stainless steel back bar, with associated fabrications and appliances were also supplied and installed by GEC Anderson.A spokesperson for MBA commented: In 2015 MBA won an invited competition to design a new sports pavilion on the site. Thorough analysis of the topography and the wider views led to a radical design for a pavilion in two parts, linked by a bridge angled westwards to align precisely with the Wembley Arch.

Laboratory taps, laboratory water taps, laboratory gas taps……they all have handwheels and for the keen eyed amongst us those handwheels have coloured indices on them. …..but what do they mean?Dead simply they tell the laboratory tap user what service is being offered. This could range from anything from hot and cold potable water to the more funky special waters (Demineralised, deionised) and various gas services found in the laboratory; gases such as Argon, Helium, Nitrogen etc which is what would you expect in laboratory fume cupboards and reagent shelving.The colouring is governed by the DIN EN 13792 which covers laboratory taps, this standard is a worldwide initiative so whether you’re in Switzerland, Hong Kong or elsewhere it doesn’t matter the service from the laboratory tap will always reference the same service!

Stainless steel worktops, sinks, splashbacks and shelving, from GEC Anderson, have been installed at The Lab at Fitzjohns Primary School in Hampstead. They provide a durable, professional looking kitchen area as well as adding valuable light to an otherwise dark space.The work carried out in the Lab, a science and cookery facility, is part of a phased transformation of the school, involving a complex programme, designed to cause minimum disruption to the occupied school.The school is split into four blocks; the main block being listed and over 150 years old. The Lab is located on the ground floor of this block in an old culvert space which had been open to the elements and was used as a dumping area!Frank Swan, Bursar for Fitzjohn Primary said, “The Lab was built to put an additional focus on science in the school and to have a dedicated learning space for the subject.”

GEC Anderson were chosen to supply stainless steel classroom worktops, drinking fountains as well as fabrications for the main school kitchen.Classroom worktops have integrated sink bowls and are mounted on wall hung stainless steel base cabinets, also by GEC Anderson. The cantilever arrangement allows for uninterrupted floor cleaning and easier working and access to the sink units. It also facilitates the ability to mount the worktops at the height appropriate for pupils. GB4000 wall hung drinking fountains were specified in the corridor areas. The units can be mounted at any height to ensure access for the children. Within the main kitchen, sinks and and worktops include leg frames with solid undershelves in order to maximise the limited space available.Brushed satin stainless steel (EN 1.4301 grade) was used throughout.

The Living Concrete team are highly experienced at working with leading designers to create bespoke furniture for beautiful spaces. That’s why Charlotte Crosland came to us to discuss the design, manufacture and installation of this stunning outdoor kitchen and entertainment space, housed in a purpose built oak building at her client’s Great Missenden home.We cast a number of items including work surfaces, kitchen cupboards with shelving and drawers, fridge enclosure, BBQ, cast in sink with copper fittings and seatWe used a unique eco concrete mix with a hydrophobic agent to limit moisture absorption and the smooth Silk Mist finish was treated and sealed with Satin Stain protection to make it damage proof. Our high-performance concrete doesn’t corrode or degrade, making it a long-lasting, practical choice that will keep its good looks. It’s fireproof too – a major advantage inside the home, but equally so in an outdoor oak-built structure such as this.

The nautical heritage of Aberdeen was the inspiration for Fresh Property Group's student accommodation development Caledon Court, designed using EGGER finishes throughout.U599 ST9 Indigo Blue, H3170 ST12 Natural Kendal Oak and U732 ST9 Dust Grey have been used in study bedrooms, studio apartments and shared living spaces. The neutral colour pallete brings the maritime world in and provides a calm, comfortable environment.Caledon Court is a 199 bed site next to Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.Designed by HLM Architects and fabricated by Welcome Furniture, students will find their desks, wardrobes, shelving, headboards, drawers, kitchen doors and worktops all feature EGGER laminates.Mhairi-Claire Wilkes of HLM Architects said, “The large variety of contemporary decors by EGGER enhanced our ability to design an exciting and unique space, all within a reasonable budget. The wide range of uses of the product allowed us to create a synergy between spaces and we were able to create a consistent aesthetic throughout.”

New for the 2022/23 academic year, Archwood House at Eagle Wharf for University of the Arts London offers contemporary student accommodation in a range of EGGER finishes.U717 ST9 Dakar Grey forms a neutral palette in the kitchens. Used in 18mm Eurodekor MFC, the handleless door format in mixed sizes could easily be achieved without excess labour or material waste. Matching edging completes the look.The units are complemented by EGGER worktops in F638 ST16 Chromix Silver in a 38mm postformed format, highlighting the contemporary design scheme with a stone like look and feel. Matching splashbacks are also used.In the bedrooms, a rustic look is added with H3332 ST10 Grey Nebraska Oak. Used in 18mm Eurodekor MFC, the material is an efficient and cost effective choice for case goods including shelving and storage.The project was designed by Nelson and Long. Fabrication was by Flawless Kitchens using EGGER 18mm Eurodekor MFC, ABS edging, 38mm postformed worktops and splashbacks from UK stock.

Collaborating with John Turner Construction, Team BOYCO was approached to transform Kendal College’s newly built T-Level Construction Block with our fixed furniture solutions, with the customer requesting Worktops, Cupboards, and Shelving.Project ScopeLocated on the outskirts of the Lake District, Kendal College focuses on its ethos of 'Creating Bright Futures'. Offering a variety of courses, from A-Level to Degree, to a range of ages they sought to enhance their classroom space and create a practical yet comfortable learning environment. The BOYCO Way BackgroundA requirement from the client was for the product to be manufactured and installed as whole package something which BOYCO, with our own British Factory and expert installation team, was readily available to provide.Due to tools being frequently used as part of the learning experience and construction curriculum; it was important for the worktops in the T-Level block to be robust and able to withstand repeat impact.Due to this, our in-house team of designers opted to use Econo-Top worktops. Suitable for workstations, the material boasts optimal scratch and wear resistance; perfect for the construction-focused classroom, and therefore a great choice for the customer.Merinolam FR+ Laminate Sheet, in the style of ‘Castle Concrete’, was used on the exterior of the worktop after our sales team provided samples of different options to the contractor, to support with final design decisions. Not only did this add to the durability due to its phenolic resin coating which creates flame retardant properties, but it was cost-effective and provided a clean aesthetic finish to the classroom worktops. Quality Bespoke Products5 Tier adjustable shelving was installed within the Construction Block Storerooms. As per the BOYCO standard, all our metal work has been processed with our ‘Hot Dip’ Nylon coating. 500x abrasion-resistant than the next powdered coating alternative, it is easily able to withstand daily usage by the students for many years to come. This is particularly vital in a construction learning environment, where heavy and sharp tools are frequently used, therefore reflecting BOYCO’s ‘Built to Last’ exceptional quality.Our ‘Hot Dip’ Nylon also contains Anti-Microbial properties. Formulated to stop bacteria from surviving on its surface, it prevents the spread of 99% of all known bacteria. Beneficial to Kendal College, it contributes to the health and well-being of all in the classroom and complies with school safety standards.In addition to the adjustable shelving, fixed Wall Cupboards were installed in the Workshops. This storage solution ensures that students have easy access to the materials and items that they need to keep close to hand whilst working on the worktops below. The multiple storage areas help to keep the Workshop environments tidy due to equipment being organised behind the cupboard doors.Whilst completing the works on site at the College, we were notified that underfloor heating was present in the areas that BOYCO were due to fit out. We were quick to work closely with John Turner Construction to provide a solution to ensure that this wouldn’t impact the design and install. This was not a problem for us, as with over 60 years of heritage in the manufacturing business, we overcame this obstacle by utilising suitable shallow screws and fixings to avoid puncturing the structure underneath. Project SuccessThroughout the project, from design to install, Team BOYCO visited the site to ensure exceptional standards were delivered at each and every project touchpoint.Joining forces with John Turner Construction, we worked meticulously to ensure Kendal College’s requests were met. This resulted in the construction block being finished to an impeccable standard.Creating a fantastic end result, BOYCO is super proud to have worked on this project and to have positively contributed to the learning environment of future construction industry workers.

The conclusion of a far-reaching and detailed refurbishment contract within the country’s oldest purpose-built cultural entertainment venue has included the installation of custom designed stainless steel units and worktop, supplied and installed by G.E.C Anderson for the food preparation area.  The project at the historic Blackheath Halls in Lee Road, South-East London, has been carried out by the equally long established Sykes and Son on behalf of the operating company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. The scope of the work included the redevelopment of the Great Hall, bar and box office/foyer areas. With such construction work as electrical rewiring, plumbing and plastering completed, G.E.C Anderson’s project management team carried out a precise survey of the food preparation area, located to one at the North end of the main bar, in order for the design and fabrication process to commence. While many clients choose to make use of G.E.C Anderson’s standard ranges of sinks and other sanitaryware, the conservation considerations to the work within Blackheath Halls required a bespoke solution. The sector specialist manufacturer’s workshops duly produced a set of three base cabinets in stainless steel, and a single-piece L-shaped stainless steel work-surface with integral sink and splashbacks. Such custom made installations offer a pristine appearance that is ideal for such public facing applications, while helping establishments maintain an efficient cleaning regime essential in achieving the high standards of hygiene essential in commercial premises.   Hannah Benton, Operations Manager for Blackheath Halls whose responsibilities include the servery area, commented: “The refurbishment of the different areas of the venue – including the general building work, updating of plumbing and electrical services and installation of the new servery facilities, was completed to schedule for the reopening in November. Like every other institute of learning, the University of Bristol has to provide world class educational facilities, but also find new revenue streams. One such area is the provision of commercial conference space. This of course brings an extra pressure in the quality of the space provided to fee paying delegates.The atmosphere of the large open atrium was dependent on controlling the level of reverberation, without compromising on the architectural finish.Working closely with the Main Contractors Site Team, Architect and Client, we were involved in the specification for the new Atrium Feature Wall, along with all complex detailing, including expansion joints, louvres and display cabinets.Working closely with Vinci Construction, to carry out the Absorb-R GypLine αw Acoustic Plaster treatment to the Atrium Feature Wall at the University.Soundis Absorb-R GypLine αw system was installed to give a very desirable natural white stippled effect, combined with a highly absorbent functional wall spanning the length and height of the building, rising a full 5 floors.

One Crown Place is the latest high rise addition to London’s skyline. Home to 246 luxury apartments, high-quality office space, a boutique hotel and members’ club, it is located between the City of London and Shoreditch. Designed by internationally renowned architects Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF), the development features two prismatic towers of 28 and 33 storeys.For the apartments, interior designers, Bowler James Brindley specified custom designed kitchens by Italian company Arclinea featuring a dark lacquered finish with engineered stone worktops and glass fronted cabinets.The Fire regulations which apply to high-rise living accommodation meant that the open plan kitchens in each apartment would require a fire suppression unit complete with sprinklers to be fitted. These units need to be installed and maintained by a specialist engineer and can also cause damage within a property should they be activated due to a fire.  Therefore, the team of architects, designers and builders were open to the idea of an alternative, unobtrusive design-led fire prevention solution, such as the Firechief Kitchen Stove Guard.
