So here we have a stunning steel framed barn conversion stripped down and retrofit with a huge hybrid timber frame panel system manufactured and installed by White Haus Bespoke Timber Frame.
These panels are made up of 140mm insulated timber frame, 9mm OSB sheathing with Passive Purple External and two 50mm cross battens externally, followed by feathered edge cladding. With the internal side then adding an additional 50mm PIR insulation flowing into the joist zones with one continuous layer of Passive Purple and 25mm counter battens for services.
This 326mm wall build up has used both Passive Purple and Passive Purple External which meet in the window formers to guarantee the build its internal airtight vapour control and external weatherproof breather membrane. The Joints in the OSB, PIR insulation and fixings into the timber frame studwork were all prepped like always using the BRUSH versions of both Passive Purple and Passive Purple External. This fibre reinforced product allows for a tough hold and elongation on any shrinkage the insulation or timber may have with building settlement or extreme changes in climate.
With only a score of 2.5ach required, Intelligent Membranes have given this wonderfully unique home the full treatment for perfect performance to keep the HVAC system running on low hassle percentage and optimal performance output.
Bell Phillips Architects choose Vandersanden bricks for colour, texture and contrast at Orwell House

For its architecturally striking Orwell House scheme in Bethnal Green, London, Bell Phillips Architects (BPA) has specified hand-formed, multi-coloured Antro bricks from Vandersanden, the brick maker renowned for its innovation, craftsmanship and sustainable manufacturing practices. Antro provides just the right balance of colour, texture and contrast for this affordable housing project, designed by BPA for London Borough of Tower Hamlets and forming part of the Berthold Lubetkin-designed Dorset Estate, originally constructed in the 1950’s and 1960’s.Comprising 20 flats in total, Orwell House is a new, wedge-shape, in-fill development, just off Colombia Road, to the North-West of the Borough. BPA’s imaginative design for this six-storey building features balconies and a roof terrace that look out across Ravenscroft Park with the steel-framed volume of Orwell House contained by Vandersanden’s multi-coloured greyish brick envelope. On the two shorter sides, this brick envelope is fronted by balconies clad in pink, glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) panels. This bold chequerboard patterning echoes the tones and patterns used by Lubetkin to animate facades on buildings across the existing estate.Completed in July 2020, Orwell House is a Finalist in the Housing Awards 2021. The bespoke glass panels were recessed into the wall and floor with ceiling support provided only with the use of our 50mm ceiling brackets. A high quality fit and finish for one of London’s most prestigious builds.

The new 4-screen Everyman Cinema in the town centre of Altrincham was created by refurbishing a vacant former retail unit.
Designed by Fusion DNA, the striking building envelope features Senior’s high-performance, fully capped SF52 aluminium curtain walling. With exceptional thermal efficiency and attractive slim sightlines, the SF52 system created a welcoming entrance to the venue and a bright and attractive interior for the first-floor bar and restaurant.
The new cinema also features Senior’s robust SPW501 commercial aluminium doors, which are ideally suited to high traffic retail and leisure schemes.

At the £55 million new-build Bideford College in Devon, careful selection of sustainable materials was of the utmost importance to help the building achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
When choosing solutions to control the numerous doors throughout the building, product lifecycle and longevity were important to help create a sustainable and low maintenance building.
To achieve this, a comprehensive range of products from dormakaba was specified to install TS 93 cam action closers, as well as latches and floor springs.
Incorporating a series of eco-friendly features the scheme received a Civic Building Award and a RIBA Award.

Woldgate School secured £1.3 million for improvements to its buildings from the Department for Education. The funds were to cover work including the removal and replacement of external walls not of brick construction, as well as windows and doors, many of which were the originals from when the school was first built.

Creating a new logistical and warehousing space in Cambridge, project managers at a new premises at Farboud Innovation Park got in touch with our Goods Lift Manager, Nick Gibbons. They were looking to include 2 high capacity goods lifts on the project to improve efficiency at the premises.
They decided our box goods lift was ideal for the project. The quick turnaround and additional hard-wearing features to prevent damage when loading made it suitable for goods logistics. The team chose a shutter gate on the upper floor, but swing doors on the lowest floor for alternative loading efficiency.

In February 2018 Preston’s much anticipated multi-million-pound market hall opened its doors to customers for the first time. The new facilities are housed underneath the restored Victorian Canopy, which dates to 1875, with huge glass walls creating an open atmosphere with plenty of routes in from the streets surrounding the central location. Outside the hall is the refurbished outdoor market space and Box Market shipping containers that are tall enough to walk inside. These containers are used by traders on the former Fish Market as a base from which to sell their goods.

Doors and plaster board walls can easily be damaged, be it scrapes and knocks as people pass, or more serious dents and holes caused by wheeled traffic. Altro Fortis Titanium has been specifically designed to protect these surfaces. Altro Fortis Titanium is dense, impervious and resistant to bumps. It features a lightly textured surface, which camouflages scuffs, keeping the wall area looking better for longer.

This fine house was built in the 1920s, one of its features was the unusual ‘chequerboard’ black and white design of the original windows. The clients wished to replicate this, which required selected opening windows to be powder coated in black so as to contrast against the white outer frames. A magnificent 24-pane bay window is a prime feature of the house and shows off this unique design.
The clients chose windows from Clement’s EB24 range with rectangular leaded lights. To provide added security, all the windows and doors were fitted with Clement’s multi point locking system.

Occupying an elevated position above the city of Guildford stands this wonderful house, which was built in the early 1900s. Individually designed and constructed to a very high specification, the numerous windows and doors (over three floors) allowed plenty of light to flood into the property and to take advantage of the fantastic surrounding views.
Windows from Clement’s EB24 system with rectangular leaded lights were used to replicate the original fenestration. As well as the new windows being in keeping with the character of the property, the multi point locking system chosen by the client brought extra security.

The new sixth form college located at the site of the city’s former Masonic Hall has been sympathetically restored and extended to provide a number of new facilities, whilst maintaining the building’s architectural grandeur.
The construction materials for the new build elements were carefully specified to both complement and enhance the existing Italianate Villa style.
Doors, windows and curtain walling from Senior’s innovative Hybrid range, which features aluminium on the exterior to provide a durable and low maintenance solution and engineered timber on the interior for a natural look and feel, provided the perfect solution.
Twilight Bar, Leicestershire

The slim profiles and elegant lines of the windows complement the Instagrammable interior of the Twilight Bar, with its luxurious, art deco styling, featuring lots of scalloped prints and shapes, velvet seating, fringed lampshades and brass fittings. The exterior of the bar, clad in oxidised copper, is just as striking, and the green finish of the copper contrasts beautifully with the Anthracite grey of the windows.
The installation shows the versatility of the AluK BSF70 system, which can be used for either open-in our open-out windows or doors with individual panels up to 1200mm wide x 2400mm high.

Herbert House, a 115-year old 52,000 sq ft commercial building in the Colmore business district, has been converted into one of the city’s newest and most prestigious apartment blocks.
It features 316 windows in the 58BW ST system and 3 suited doors in the GT55 system, all in a standard AluK Anthracite grey finish.

Two five-panel BSF70 bi-folds installed on the front of the garden room open out from the centre, while the pool area features a single, nine-panel bi-fold which opens up one way from right to left to create a seamless link between inside and out. There are also two further five-panel BSF70 bi-folds installed at the end of the building and working as a divider between the two separate zones.
All the doors are in Anthracite Grey throughout, double glazed with black, warm edge spacer bars.

TRC Contracts Ltd were awarded the contract for the supply, design and installation of timber Box sash windows and doors fully glazed and factory finished to this 80 million Pound house nearby Regent’s Park.
Huxley House’s impressive facade, complete with robust Doric columns, draws its inspiration from the Neoclassical architecture that is a distinct hallmark of nearby Marylebone and Primrose. With their classical columns and decorative friezes, the imposing white stucco houses that abound in these areas reveal the fingerprint of one of Britain’s finest architects, John Nash (1752 – 1835).

TRC Windows
TRC was commissioned in December 2015 to begin a 34-month project to refurbish the 850 sash windows, over 40 pairs of French doors and 30 replacement identical sash windows so they perform to expectation in such a high-end building, while retaining their heritage characteristics.
TRC also designed, supplied and installed over 200 new timber/aluminium composite windows for an additional new building in the grounds. This included design to the developer’s requirements; producing prototypes to obtain planning approval; production; and installation by TRC’s own employed team of professional window installers.

Renovating and remodelling this 1950s farm workers cottage in rural Hampshire was the task for Adam Knibb Architects and their challenge was more than just the design, they had a series of very restrictive planning restraints to deal with because of the countryside location.
The finished project is a testament to innovative design and thinking. The ground floor is now almost completely open-plan, finished off with a large 11m wide, 5-panel set of IDSystems supplied and installed Grand Slider II doors that offer a stunning view over the garden and the woodlands beyond.

The sheer volume of passengers visiting Stansted Airport on a daily basis puts an enormous strain on the airport facilities, including the washrooms. System M was specified for the refurbishment due to its strength and durability. System M’s patented emergency access system is made possible by an innovative pivoting pilaster. The pilaster is ‘squeezed’ allowing normally opening inward doors to be pulled outwards in the event of an emergency at the airport. WMOR Architects completely redesigned the ground floor to include a flexible living area to open into the garden. Accoya was chosen as the ideal material for the extension because of it aesthetic appearance as well as its ability to provide better insulation than other materials. & the owners wanted to use the most sustainable material they could.
The Accoya extension which houses the show piece kitchen will be left to weather naturally and match the pale grey flooring. This was specifically designed so that in the summer, when the sliding door completely opens, the interior & exterior space will merge seamlessly.

Located in the small, but lively town of Bangor, Eclectic, a luxurious mind and body wellbeing retreat, has opened a three-story studio on the main street. The state of the art studio features wall and ceiling slats throughout the tranquil and elegant space in woodgrain decor H1146 ST10 Grey Bardolino Oak, which fits in perfectly with the contemporary interior. Its light colour tones and delicate texture complement the other materials used in the design, to create a warm and inviting space. As well as the slats, the decor was used to create wall units, door frontals and shelving.

A landmark in the regeneration of Spitalfields,The Steward Building is situated within the historically and architecturally interesting Artillery Passage Conservation Area.The site required the highest quality stainless steel louvre as a street front cladding, providing ventilation and visual screening, on two elevations of a prime office development.The design, which was developed by Lang+Fulton, featured recessed supports for the panels and incorporated a sliding door with concealed gate hardware to achieve a seamless aesthetic.The louvred panels were made from DeltaBox/SS-90 a pressure locked stainless steel product.

A mix of Helmsman System 2000 lockers and Glass Lockers situated together totally compliment each other with walnut formica and luscious lime coloured glass doors. These were supplied along with matching vanity shelving and GRP bench seating. The colouring of the Glass shower cubicles and glass toilet cubicles was carefully chosen in a clear interlayer and clear panel glass to bring the overall look of the changing rooms together. This project oozes luxury and quality on all fronts.
