AGC Glass UK Ltd

Rising 143 metres in the London skyline, this 42-storey tower located in Stratford near to the former Olympic park, consists of 248 luxury residential lofts and a 145-bedroom hotel.Designed by high-rise specialist architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, over 17,000m2 of ipasol Light Grey 60/33 glazing was chosen for the facade thanks to its aesthetic of a light grey tint when viewed from outside but highly transparent and neutral when viewed from interior spaces. As the facade includes full height glazing, a combination of solar control and thermal insulation coated glass was needed to allow the facade to achieve its energy efficiency targets. Some glazing types also utilise acoustic laminated glass to maximise the sound reduction properties of double glazing units.

Experience Spectacular Laminated Glass Designs with evguard® PriWatt® Glass has been used for Switchable Glass Fence for an Ocean Front Villa in Los Angeles, California. An innovative solution - maintaining the ocean view while ensuring maximum privacy and security. With the tap of a button, this fence transitions from fully transparent, allowing residents to enjoy the ocean view, to fully opaque, providing necessary privacy. The PriWatt Smart Glass Fence features low iron, tempered, laminated glass with evguard® laminating film with a total thickness of 13/16″. The low iron glass ensures optimal clarity, while the lamination with evguard® laminating film enhances safety and durability. The result is a durable, highly resilient and aesthetically pleasing smart glass fence that perfectly balances transparency and privacy.A unique feature of this project is the integration of a smart home controller with the smart glass system. This allows residents to control the fence’s transparency using their home automation pads. Additionally, an automated system is programmed to switch the glass to its opaque state at night, enhancing privacy and security. This case study highlights the transformative potential of smart glass in revolutionizing architectural design and enhancing user experience. This project demonstrates how smart glass technology can effectively balance aesthetics, privacy, and advanced tech integration. For sensitive inlays like LC-films, meshes, LED and other materials, which are used in glass laminates, is mandatory to have a lamination film that flows easily into gaps without affecting or harming the inlay to obtain good results. The tailor-made melt viscosity of evguard® laminating film enables the lamination of added-value materials. evguard® laminating film perfectly fills the gaps without harming or destroying sensitive inlays like LC films, LED, meshes, solar cells, perforated steel, metals, papers and other substrates.Photo – PriWatt® switchable smart Glass by Smart Glass Tech / Project Switchable Glass Fence for an Ocean Front Villa in Los Angeles, California.Call Smart Glass Tech today for more information on the project:Smart Glass Techwww.smartglasstech.com(833) 333-8556sales@smartglasstech.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/smart-glass-tech/Other projects: https://www.smartglasstech.com/blog/Call Glass Lamination of America for #evguard®:US: 803-487-4950Email: sebastian@glamofa.comwww.glamofa.comGlass Lamination of America Contact GlassParts for #evguard® in UK & IrelandTony Mallick +44 7392 458390tony@glassparts.co.ukwww.glassparts.co.uk

Powdertech (Corby) Ltd

Two shades of blue, light and dark, formally in glass panels, needed to be replicated when the glass was removed and replaced within areas of the rainscreen façade and spandrel panels across all levels of a student accommodation tower block in Kings Cross, London.Powdertech was sent shards of blue glass from the old windows, to match with a powder coating both in shade and gloss level. Working in close contact with the client Powdertech directed one of its powder manufacturers to make two unique shades of blue to match the old glass in both colour and gloss. Powdertech coated 4500 sq m of aluminium spandrel panels of sizes ranging from 350mm by 2500 mm to a larger size of 900mm by 4500mm.The non-combustible cladding panels are designed to help prevent fire damage quickly and easily spreading as part of the system. They perform to technical criteria, sound insulation and thermal performance and reduce environmental issues. Powdertech’s powder coatings and application techniques all conform to reaction to fire rating A2-s1,d0, thus contributing to the fire safety of the panels
