For their first international location of leading American workplace and hospitality providers Convene, situated at London’s 22 Bishopsgate, Radii’s high-end banded partitioning and doors were deployed in an ‘organised non-conformity’ design across meeting spaces on the fourth floor.Single glazed Linear 30 (41dB Rw) and double glazed Parallel 50 (45dB Rw) partitions were used alongside single glazed doors, all installed with randomised black feature banding combined with both reeded and frosted manifestations in differing orientations to create an eye-catching effect.The fit out for Convene — designed to offer nearby businesses an inspirational space to connect and collaborate — won in the Innovation category at the 2023 British Council for Offices Awards.

Dawn and David became a customer of Mumford and Wood having met at a home exhibition.They were in the process of extending their Surrey home and although liked the style of their existing windows had experienced water ingress and poor thermal performance from them, so decided to investigate replacing with new timber units. Dawn explains;"We were keen to install a product that would last, so finding a product that we could trust to perform well, with good thermal and security ratings was crucial. Once we had visited the Build Centre in London to view some of Mumford and Wood’s full-sized products, we were very impressed by the quality and aesthetics, so we just knew they were the manufacturer for us."Dawn and David expressed that they wanted a clean look for their beautiful home and so we recommended flush Conservation Casement windows and doors, including slimmer glazing bars. We also supplied roof lanterns to the orangery, allowing lots of light.They were also very keen to ensure that the glass sightlines were consistent across each window and door, despite them being different sizes. Sowwah Square is a landmark development situated on theisland of Jazeerat Al Maryah in Abu Dhabi. The complexcomprises four luxury high-rise towers providing 285,000square metres of mixed office and retail space, as well asthe new Stock Exchange of Abu Dhabi building.Working in collaboration with design and architecture firm,Gensler, Allgood initially provided specifications for theStock Exchange building, retail area and the car parks,before later working with Goettsch Partners on the fourluxury towers.Gensler wanted a bespoke lever and pull handle designusing a semi-circular grip profile to complement the interioraesthetic. Allgood worked closely with the architects todesign, prototype, and produce the handles, using itsin-house design and manufacture capabilities. The finalproducts were installed on all 2,600 doors of the StockExchange building and have since been included inAllgood’s Mode range.Goettsch designed each of the four towers surrounding theStock Exchange in its own style. The versatile Sembla rangeof door furniture proved an ideal partner for this vision,given the many possible finishes and materials. For thisthe Sembla range of door furniture was chosen due to itsversatile range of finishes and material options. The clientalso only wanted fittings of the highest quality and durability.Sembla is made from solid grade 316 stainless steel and ismounted on Allgood’s patented Quadaxial™ rose that hasbeen tested to one million cycles without failure.The commitment to quality extended to the choices ofhardware with only the most durable mechanical hardwarebeing specified throughout the project. Allgood providedlocks, cylinders, door closers and panic devices with 10-yearguarantees, while the hinges had a 25-year guarantee.

The environment is safe, nurturing and stimulating, so that every child reaches their full potential with the help of Yeoman Shield products.Yeoman Shield protection panels have been an un-mitigating success at Springwell School in Hartlepool.The school caters for children aged 3 to 11 years who have a broad range of specialist needs and the vibrant and busy spaces can suffer from impact damage caused by the everyday activities of the students and staff.To counteract such damage and to keep the classroom and communal areas looking clean and welcoming the school have previously utilized Yeoman Shield FalmouthEx Wall and Door Protection Panels.Site Manager, Dean Henson commented “We already have Yeoman Shield protection panels on walls and doors in areas around the school, including the hall which can be used for many things ranging from a dining hall to activities hall. The panels have been in place for around 5 to 6 years and still look as good as new.”Having proved to be long lasting and durable the school decided to bring Yeoman Shield installers back during the February half term to continue the wall protection panels throughout corridors.Yeoman Shield 2.0mm thick FalmouthEx protection panels were supplied on this occasion in attractive mid grey and lilac colours with the addition of a waved top giving a decorative feel to the walls.Manufactured from a non- porous rigid PVCu the protection panels are not only easy to clean but are inherently hygienic as they do not promote the growth of bacteria or mould.As recognised by Springwell School the implementation of wall and door protection systems can reduce the amount of time and money spent on the repair and re-decoration of wall and doors throughout the buildings, extending the lifecycle of the interior decor.

Hampstead Garden Suburb, in north London, is internationally recognised as one of the finest examples of early twentieth century domestic architecture and town planning. It was designated as a Conservation Area in 1968, and the older part of the Suburb was designated a ‘Conservation Area of Outstanding Architectural or Historic Interest’ in 1977.Clement developed the Brooking range of steel windows as sensitive replacements for existing fenestration in the Suburb. The new windows look incredibly similar to the original windows and doors, but offer much improved specification. The owner of this wonderful, detached red brick home chose Clement to manufacture and install the new bespoke steel doors and windows. Meadows Business Park is undergoing a major repositioning, providing modern working for a post covid-19 world. With 3 refurbished buildings positioned in landscaped grounds, providing workspaces, offices, central café, gym, cycle storage and showers. Located next to Blackwater Railway station, tenants of Meadows Business Park can enjoy pop up shops, street food markets, walks around the 100 acre shepherds meadow and even Peloton bikes, as well as a range of classes in the gym.As part of the refurbishment of these buildings, we worked alongside OD Interiors to manufacture and install the lockers and bench seating for the cycle storage and shower areas. As part of the project, we provided 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the male changing rooms, 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the female changing rooms and bench seating for both changing areas and the cycle storeroom.The stunning Laminate Z Lockers were manufactured with an aluminium body, stainless steel door frame and Abet Laminate doors. The colours chosen were Mountain Oak and Ice White from Abet’s range of laminate colours. We work with a variety of suppliers of laminate, allowing us to offer a large selection of colours and finishes, from carbon-neutral options, wood effect styles, through to bright pops of colour.In each changing room, 13 of the 22 Z Lockers were fitted with seat stands, with the remaining 9 lockers fitted to stands. The frames for the stands and seat stands are powder coated in RAL colour white, with the seat slats in Mountain Oak laminate to match the locker doors. To keep the project slick and uniform, the end panels, infills and the cladding to hide the stands are in the Ice White laminate, also matching the doors.The locks chosen for the project were the Digilock Versa Keypad locks. These are a great choice for both assigned, or shared use, and so were perfect for the shared changing rooms at Meadow Business Centre. Does the new library bring the Bilbao effect to Alexandrina?The cultural centre Bibliotheca Alexandrina opened in April 2002 was built under the auspices of UNESCO, and aims to build on the glorious past of the ancient library.dormakaba's contribution to the projectOnly 30 metres separate the library from the Mediterranean. Its deepest sections lie 18 m underground and 12 m below sea level, calling for sophisticated structural measures. Library stocks had to be wellprotected against both water and fire.To guarantee this protection and user comfort, the architects turned to dormakaba. The fire protection and smoke check concept includes TS 93 cam-action door closers and ITS 96 integrated door closers, some with electromechanical hold-open, plus BTS 80 and BTS 80F floor springs.

This beautiful new build home, close to the shore on Long Island, was to be the Client’s luxury beach house. UK architect David Russel, designed all windows and doors to be pocket style, disappearing into the walls.Much consideration was given to concealment and where possible the curtains also opened out of sight, into their own wall pockets. All Lutron curtain tracks were flush-mounted using TrackTrim by Blindspace, including a number of curved tracks.In some of the windows, Lutron blinds were concealed within Blindspace boxes behind the curtains, all disappearing when not required. These Blindspace products have the additional benefit of being plastered in during construction for minimal visual impact.The unique ground floor design brings the outdoor indoors, using hidden doors and curtains with amazing results.Transcript

Combining the former Mayble Tylecoate and Grosvenor buildings, MMU’s new Arts and Humanities hub uses INTRAflex XT entrance matting for a classic aesthetic.With the listed portico and the internal glass vestibule providing some shelter from the elements, the architect specified a primary entrance matting system with INTRAlux Elite fibre inserts in Anthracite 607. This fibre has an exceptional tuft count to provide 5.4l/m2 of absorption, combined with the highest Class 33 Wear Rating. To enhance performance with this simple primary entrance matting system, the specification provides a substantial walk-off area.With 19,550mm wide entrance matting, entry through the main portico doors offers nearly 10,000mm of walk-off in either direction. While the adjacent pass doors are protected by entrance matting that measures 3629mm front-to-back.

The new three storey Madras College on the outskirts of St Andrews opened its doors last Autumn, bringing together 1,450 pupils into one single-site secondary school with 15,320sqm of new facilities, including outstanding sports provision. It’s fantastic to see these shots of the build glistening in the autumnal sunshine. Designed by AHR of Glasgow, and delivered by BAM Construct UK for Fife Council, the project incorporated Metal Technology Ltd’s high-performance curtain walling, windows and doors through approved fabricator Avtek Ltd. The college has achieved a ‘Platinum Standard’ sustainability level, measured against Fife Council’s own ‘Sustainability Checklist’, exceeding BREEAM standards. The landscape strategy incorporates the protection of biodiversity, through planting native trees, grassland and wildflowers.

Radii manufactured and installed Parallel 50 double glazed partitioning (45dB Rw) with adjoining Parallel 100 (50dB RW) for TS&W’s glazed fronts on the Ground floor and Level 1, including a number of stunning curved glazed elements. Linear 25 single glazed partitions (38dB RW) were used on Levels 2 to 5.Enhanced acoustic timber doors (40dB Rw) in veneered and painted finishes and with adjoining timber pilasters were utilised for the executive meeting rooms and offices.Auto-operated framed glazed pivoting doors, with visible overhead operators mounted on our top channels, were also installed to give easy access to ‘den’ and collaboration areas.Finally, a fire rated package comprising of structural Ei90 fire rated glazed screens was added on Level 5.

The new Cherry ward is an 18-bed acute mental health facility and was completed in July 2021. ATS were involved with the supply of door-sets, ironmongery and screens with many special anti-ligature features to increase patient safety and security.

Helmsman System 2000 lockers 3 compartment with plant on doors are supplied and fitted at the Health Club. Helmsman System 3206 Seating are in use also to match the lockers. Helmsman System 3208 Hook Bar is also fitted to match the lockers.

At this luxury residential block, by developer Purelake and ECE Architecture, VELFAC windows and patio doors are installed in all 52 apartments. The slim framed windows deliver maximum natural light, optimum thermal and acoustic insulation, and some stunning views.

To achieve the high-performance requirements, specialist contractor Allied Ireland, developed a solution and provided a range of Komfort’s new partitioning and door systems which offer market-leading acoustics.Komfort’s Polar 100 double glazed partitioning system achieved acoustic ratings of up to 51dB (Rw) and was installed across the meeting rooms to ensure privacy. This frameless glazed system with its bubble joints and minimal framing creates a high-end aesthetic that maximises natural light.This system was complemented by Komfort’s acoustic Sonik doors, which also achieves a high acoustic rating of up to 40dB (Rw). As a high end jewellery store, both security and a clean and sleek look, were priorities for the entrance.Solution:FAAC Entrance Solutions installed the SL500 Transparent sliding door four panel system and finished the operator cover in a 50% gloss Light Bronze RAL Finish. The pocket screens were replaced by flush mounted EN16005 compliant safety presence detecting sensors which together with the 10.8mm glass and a dotted manifestation, contributed to an elegant yet safe entrance. St James School is part of Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust, with their mission is to provide students with excellent education and to build their communities. The school provides its students with the tools they need to use their education to become the best versions of themselves, succeed in rewarding occupations, and create wonderful lives.Helmsman manufactured and installed 245 four-compartment Laminate Metal Lockers. The specification of the lockers was 1775mm high, 300mm wide, and 450mm deep. When the lockers were being manufactured, the school requested that they have a sloping top. Sloping tops are a common choice for school lockers because they reduce the accumulation of dust and allow for storage without risking a safety hazard if something falls off.The laminate Metal locker was manufactured with the body to be metal and the doors to be laminate. The body of the lockers was coated in our standard colour of ‘Ice’. Whilst the doors were powder coated in Blue Iris, Blue Tiber, and Paradise Blue, which symbolised the colours of the school. The lockers were finished with oval number plates above the Camlocks, which is a fantastic choice for school lockers as the students will feel assured that their personal items are safe in their laminate metal locker.Laminate Metal lockers are fantastic materials for school lockers as they give the look of freshness and stylish as the material of laminate doors does better withstanding dents, and scratches and can be more long-term for the schools.

Looking to enhance accessibility whilst giving a modern look to the traditional farm shop, they got in touch with our local expert who visited the site to assess all requirements.Solution: We proposed our SL510 Slim Eco beam-mounted system with a bi-parting operator and 22mm clear insulated laminated glazed units. Combined activation/threshold presence detection sensors and glazed pocket screens to comply with EN16005, making it a safe and convenient entrance that complimented the existing brick structure.
