Sunshine Gym has installed a series of multi gyms at Northlands Primary School in Essex following requests for outdoor fitness equipment from the school parliament.The new equipment is available for children in the junior classes to use at break times and lunch times on a rota basis.The equipment will also be incorporated into PE lessons. Teachers at the school say the gym has been a great way to keep pupils active and improve their physical fitness outside of the classroom.

Sunshine Gym have provided a brand new outdoor gym at Newton Primary School in Derbyshire.Newton Primary School decided upon the Primary School Outdoor Fitness Package which provided a pre-determined mixture of equipment specially selected by our experts to encourage fitness within primary schools. The equipment can be used by eight pupils simultaneously. Inclusive of both multi and single user equipment this package can be used as a gentle cardiovascular workout. It features two pieces of multi-user equipment, and these ‘dual’ units promote social interaction whilst still allowing the pupils to exercise at their own pace.The outdoor gym equipment was installed on grass saver matting. This additional safety surface, over time, will encourage the grass to grow through and be mowed. Thus allowing it blend with the natural surroundings.This specific outdoor fitness package is to be used by children under 140cm. This makes it perfect for the KS1 & KS2 pupils, and they can use it for small classes for PE pupils or even as an after school fitness initiative.

Walkways, shelters and canopies from Broxap are ideal platforms for the integration of environmental features such as solar panel and green sedum roofs. A covered walkway installed at South Cheshire College was manufactured to include solar panels to benefit the campus.

New corporate headquarters for a growing independent distiller called for the perfect blend of outdoor infrastructure to reflect its strong local identity.Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) embarked on the new HQ project after outgrowing its nearby Russell House head office.The £4.5 million development features two prominent glass towers representing the traditional ventilation shafts of Scottish whisky distilleries.And when it came to the design and creation of the building's outdoor spaces, Broxap's Litchard range provided a similar timeless yet unique aesthetic for the site.Working for Clark Contracts, Broxap designed, manufactured and installed a suite of furniture including two Litchard Picnic Units and 16 Litchard Benches.Our teams collaborated with the project leaders to create 8 Litchard Seats, as well as tables and short benches, to specific dimensions to enable unique group seating configurations.A Palisade Brise Soleil adds another dimension to the breakout space. Door barriers, complete with tapping bars to meet Scotland’s disability access standards, completed the project.The main building delivers 10,000 sq ft of office space for IMD and is the commercial hub for the independent family firm which owns brands including Edinburgh Gin, Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Smokehead.

Pupils at Tittensor First School love their new PE equipment.The school has invested in a Children’s Activ8 Outdoor Multi Gym, providing a total of eight fitness stations so pupils can enjoy a workout together.The Activ8 puts social inclusion at the heart of school outdoor fitness, attracting even the most reluctant pupils and helping everyone to understand that staying active is important for a long and healthy life.The Activ8 features a range of fun and easy to use outdoor gym equipment.At the centre is the Double Health Walker, which is a bit like an outdoor treadmill. Users march on the spot with their feet in the footboards and their hands on the handrail. This engages the core and gets the legs and lower body moving in a brisk aerobic workout to keep the heart, lungs and circulatory system healthy.Slalom Skiers, which encourage the body to move side to side for good stability and balance, are at either end of the Activ8 multi gym in an arrangement which enables pupils to encourage and motivate each other.The multi gym is completed with a double Waist Twister, wheelchair accessible Tai Chi Discs and a wheelchair accessible arm bike.The Waist Twister, as the name suggests, mobilises the waist and lower body which is complemented by the Tai Chi Discs and Arm Bike for the upper body.As part of our high quality installation service, our teams arranged for the disposal of old equipment and embedded grass mats around the new outdoor multi gym to protect the ground from heavy use.

As part of the Building Schools For The Future Programme, Broxap were awarded the contract to supply shelter elements on this prestigious new build school at Newham, London. There was a requirement for an outdoor area beyond the classrooms with a specified decked area and shelter arrangment. Broxap produced a design to client specification featuring a bespoke monopitch version of the Newcstle Senior Shelter. This was clad in UV reducing Multiwall polycarbonate and submerge fixed into the ground, the decking element was then added beneath and around the shelter columns.The shelter is minimal and unobtrusive yet protects the decked area from the elements and provides UV protection to pupils beneath.Other shelter elements contained within the school provide by Broxap included a run of Castleford cycle shelters complete with Sheffield cycle racks.

Street furniture from Broxap has been included in a scheme to make a city centre route more cycle friendly.

Recycling bins featuring posters designed by schoolchildren are encouraging beach visitors to recycle plastic bottles and cans.

Canadian Western Red Cedar Timber Cladding with NORclad Brunnea treatment Approximately 7.5km of Canadian Western Red Cedar has been suppled for this project in Wednesbury, machined to our face fix NWC2 T&G profile. Brunnea treated Canadian Western Red Cedar cladding from NORclad offers a formal 30 year warranty against rot and fungal decay. The NORclad Brunnea treatment is a popular choice, containing a pigment and UV inhibitors – there is a good level of colour stability VS uncoated timbers. Being a preservative treatment rather than a coating, there is less involved in terms of maintaining the product.

A ‘one-stop-shop’ waterproofing solution installed across the entire structure of this exclusive project. Located on the site of the old Bowater House in Knightsbridge, this esteemed development was dubbed ‘the most luxurious address in London’. 

Challenge: Many elements of the iconic skyscraper were facing embedded steel corrosion, including the structural steel lattice columns within the colossal terracotta enclosures. The expansion of the steel caused by the corrosion was severely damaging the masonry cladding and cracking the six-foot-tall terracotta bison heads.Strategy: Installation of an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system at the steel sections with the colonnades on 29th to 32nd floors. The system consisted of LoCem® +point® anode mortar was applied within the bed joints and drilled in to provide 360° protection of the steel surfaces. The bison heads were deconstructed, steel cleaned-up and masonry reconstructed. LoCem® is a low carbon cement alternative (AACM), which can also act as a cathodic protection anode for controlling steel frame corrosion.Outcome: The ICCP system resulted in long-term performance and control for the whole life preservation of our clients’ assets. Using AchillesICP for control over corrosion rate, and AiMS to collect the data, the client had full transparency over structural health and the power to make predictive maintenance decisions.

Client: BOC Car CentreLocation: Bolton, EnglandYear: 2022Project size: 1720 m²Vebro systems: vebroscreed Industrial , vebrores EP HBC, vebrores EP SCSubstrate repair and a level, durable, safe floor finish was required to replace the previously installed tiles at BOC Car Centre, a car showroom in Bolton, England.Long established in the Bolton area having opened in 1973, BOC Car Centre aims to provide a pleasant, welcoming environment for its customers and has built a positive, trusted reputation in its 50 years of trading.Jawed Patel of BOC Car Centre said of the project: “I am really pleased with Vebro Polymers… The coatings have really set our showroom floor off and look amazing!”The showroom, which is situated alongside a number of other dealerships, has approximately 200 used cars for sale at any one time, arranged over a ground floor and raised mezzanine level.With daily wheeled traffic from the movement of its fleet of vehicles, as well as sustained foot traffic from its large customer base, the ground floor and mezzanine at BOC Car Centre required a safe, hard wearing solution.vebroscreed Industrial, vebrores EP SC and vebrores EP HBC have been chosen to transform the floor at BOC Car Centre, Bolton, delivering a level, safe and durable surface underfoot.Prior to the installation of Vebro Polymers flooring materials, the concrete substrate on the showroom’s ground floor had been levelled using a calcium sulphate screed, which are known for their extended drying times and higher moisture content.In order to allow the screed to breathe, vebroscreed EP SC was chosen to overcoat this area.The mezzanine area was transformed as part of the second phase, beginning with mechanical preparation of the substrate, followed by Vebro Polymers’ vebroscreed Industrial and vebrores EP HBC.Bitumen residue was removed from the substrate, before epoxy primer and sand scatter was applied to act as a scratch coat. vebroscreed Industrial was then installed at 7.0 mm across the ground floor of the facility, to level the surface prior to the installation of Vebro Polymers resin coating materials.vebroscreed Industrial is a deep-fill, rapid-setting and hardening, high strength cementitious smoothing underlayment screed that can be overcoated with resin in as little as 24 hours between 5.0 and 15.0 mm.After a coat of vebro EP Sealer (Matt), acting as a primer, vebrores EP HBC was applied across the lower floor in a combination of RAL 7035 Light Grey and RAL 7037 Dusty Grey, with the darker shade applied as car bays to provide a simple, yet effective backdrop for the vehicles for sale.The two-coat, high build epoxy system provides a durable and resistant finish underfoot, ideal for a car showroom where there is consistent wheeled traffic.

Client: Singleton Distillery Visitors’ CentreLocation: Scottish Highlands, ScotlandYear: 2022Project size: 700 m²Vebro systems: vebroscreed Industrial, vebro Classic Terrazzo, vebrores PU SL HDA combination of luxurious seamless terrazzo and high performance polyurethane coatings were required to complement the interior design scheme of a new whisky distillery visitors’ centre in the Scottish Highlands.A new visitors’ centre at the existing Singleton at Glen Ord Distillery in the Scottish Highlands has been unveiled, representing part of a significant investment into Scottish tourism by the brand’s parent company Diageo, with several similar venues also opened across the country.Located on the North Coast 500 route, the centre aims to attract additional tourism to the area, helping to contribute to the local and national economy.Although the Singleton story began back in 1987, the award winning Singleton whisky is renowned for being modern, vibrant and perfectly balanced, appealing to a new generation of whisky drinkers.The visitors’ centre was designed to reflect this brand positioning, combining heritage and modernity to create a welcoming high end space for its visitors. Housed in one of the distillery’s original buildings, the renovation has married the traditional stonework of the building with modern and industrial materials in order to create a visually striking interior scheme.The floor levelling and resin flooring package for the new Singleton of Glen Ord distillery included vebroscreed Industrial, vebrores PU SL HD and vebro Classic Terrazzo. A durable, slip resistant solution with minimal disruption for a development kitchen area in a popular Michelin star restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall.Located in a beautiful Georgian townhouse in the heart of bustling Padstow, Paul Ainsworth at No 6 has three dining areas, including private dining for smaller parties as well as a space overlooking the attractive development kitchen.Vebro Polymers has delivered fast-cure vebrospeed Quartz, a high performance yet aesthetically pleasing floor coating system for the development kitchen, an operational space that is also visible to diners. NORclad have been supplying the timber cladding on this project over the past couple of years, a mixture of Tongue and Groove boards, feature fins, and open rainscreen profile.Areas for accommodation and high footfall required to also receive EuroClass B fire treatment.A HomeGrown Larch was selected for this project, having a fair spread of knots and character to be in keeping with its surrounding, a great example of selecting a suitable timber species that fits. Potentially if a timber with a lower knot content, or less defined grain would not have worked as well as this, in these natural surroundings.With English Grown Larch only being classified as slightly/ moderately durable by TRADA, the decision was made to use a high pressure treatment on all of the timber supplied for this project. NORclad Lite preservative treatment was selected, which allows the timber to naturally weather down to the silver grey as you’d expect from timber after being exposed to UV light, the treatment also offers a 30 year warranty against rot & insect attack.

McL Projects contacted us on behalf of Merlin Entertainment regarding their new ‘Cbeebies Land’ to be located within the Alton Towers resort.They required 4 shelters to be positioned in various locations within the new attraction. Impressive structures were required for parents with small children in buggies to be able to shelter from both sun and rain.The canopies also needed to be bright in colour and have branding printed onto them to be in keeping with the Cbeebies theme. After visiting the attraction we offered our Kite tensile canopies that have a stylish Hypar shape, and with only 1 column reduces any obstacles below the canopy.These colourful, vibrant canopies take price of place within this exciting new attraction.

Outdoor fitness facilities for everybody have been provided by Asfordby Parish Council.Sunshine Gym was selected by councillors to design a gym layout and supply and install a wide range of outdoor fitness equipment.The aim was to create an inclusive outdoor gym where all residents and visitors are able to take part in a light exercise regime.Based on bodyweight resistance exercises, the Sunshine Gym range is ideal for community and neighbourhood fitness facilities thanks to its easy to operate equipment and the variety of exercises it accommodates.
