Wick Tower is an iconic building for the locals which lay derelict for 20 years. Licata Building Systems was part of the process to bring Wick Tower back to life. Our silicone render system was used to create an aesthetic façade finish. The render system used maintains it’s clean fresh look for many years to come due to its self cleaning properties and will protect the structure from moisture.

Following the building expansion of more than 47,000 m2 the grade-II listed Stanford Hall Estate facility required further fire protection measures to be installed in order to reset its resistance to fire. Nullifire were on hand to recommend the use of FB750 Coated Batts, FS702 Water-Based Intumescent Acrylic Sealant, and FS709 Intumescent Sealant. The combination of these products ensures the fire safety of the building.

The Westfield Centre in Shepherd‘s Bush has one of the largest roofs ever designed in central London to cover the retail floor area of 150,000 m² (about 30 football pitches).The centre was developed by the Westfield Group at a cost of £1.6bn, choosing PermaQuik over the huge selection of waterproofing systems to provide the long term security necessary to protect one of the most expensive areas of retail space in the world.

This grade-2 listing building refurbishment has been transformed into a modern, more collaborative workspace. At the reception area, Milliken's OBEX Tile entrance flooring provides high performance protection and feels comfortable and welcoming underfoot. In the main office space Tectonic and Hidden Plains from Milliken's Nordic Stories collection create a sense of movement and provide exceptional acoustic performance for this more open work environment.

This multiple RIBA Award-winning spectacular home by Loyn & Co Architects is located on a sloping hill with spectacular views of the Wye Valley. With glass-fronted living spaces and light wells on the uphill side of the house, the architect wanted shading that didn't interfere with the overall design. Therefore, blind housings were custom finished to match the glazing structure in floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights. For the windows, fully automated roller blinds were specified to ensure protection from glare and solar heat gain, while allowing daytime visibility. This was accomplished using high-performance Blenheim 5% screen material.Throughout the house, the artists own art and furniture give this concrete house a very luxurious feel. Below, a single 13m long motorised skylight blind provides both light control and protects artwork from UV fading. At the rear of the house, purpose-designed studios use large lightwells with electric blinds to control the light and keep the environment comfortable.  To provide privacy, bottom-up cord-tensioned Honeycell Duette® blinds were installed in bathrooms with all hardware matching doors and windows.

In classic style with a modern twist, multiple free-standing sail shades provide unique cover for the outdoor dining area of a Victorian-built hotel. With the dining experience being very much at the heart of D’Parys Bedford, an outdoor dining area with overhead protection was an integral part of the hotel’s programme of refurbishment work. The hotel’s architects had drawn up a geometric design, as it suited the hotel’s refurbished Victorian styling with a contemporary twist...

The regeneration of Fylde Promenade and the coastal defence systems that run from Church Scar to Fairhaven in Lytham St Annes were funded by the Environment Agency.The £17.5m contract was designed to protect thousands of homes from flooding and to refresh the public realm space along the 11km stretch of coast line area.This included a requirement for a significant number of robust & contemporary seating units that Artform Urban Furniture were commissioned to provide.

There are a total of 30 active SmokeStop smoke curtain barriers, 5 vertical FireMaster fire curtains and 2 FireMaster Concertina multi-faceted fire curtains installed within the university building offering protection from fire and smoke. With a large central atrium in the centre of the building, smoke control was a huge necessity on this project and therefore various bespoke engineered solutions were required to help solve the smoke and fire requirements.

This project highlights the DYNAMIK Sydney system finished in sports vinyl, DYNAMIK solid, perforated and fabric acoustic wall panels and DYNAMIK protective giant carpet tiles. The client installed their DYNAMIK internal wall panels themselves and were pleased with the overall service: “We love the place now… thanks for all your help and patience in selecting the right [wall] panels and flooring. It has really proven to be worth it in the end.”

A busy Matalan retail store in Rugby was having issues with manual handling. They required quick installation, a quiet system, and a lift able to carry goods and attendant without a time consuming training or commissioning process. Our 7000 Flexi provided the speed and simplicity they required with extra features like a curb for trolley protection. Located in Downtown Dubai, billed as ‘the most prestigious square kilometre in the world’ Dubai Opera is a 2,000-seat multi-format performing arts centre. Any coatings chosen for the project had to meet the most stringent demands for high quality, and cover 45,000 m2 of steel. Naturally, Jotun Protective Coatings and Decorative Paints for this unique building project were specified so the building would consistently hit the high notes.

With a view protected by an Act of Parliament and famously captured by JMW Turner in his painting ‘Richmond Hill’, it’s no surprise the Star and Garter mansion on Richmond Hill is one of the most exclusive addresses in the capital.The meticulous refurbishment of this Grade II listed landmark provides a stunning range of luxuriously specified residences. Majestic were invited to supply Rio and Portofino enclosures as well as Genoa and Valletta bath screens from The Frameless Portfolio.

This student residence hosts the capicity to house students as well as offering 380m2 of office space. In order to comply with passive fire protection requirements Nullifire recommended the use of FB750 fireproof panels, FS702 flame retardant acrylic sealant, On-Site Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC801, and On-Site, Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC802. The combination of these products provided all of the necessary safety measures for occupants in case of a fire.

Wilmcote House is located in Portsmouth which had undergone a major renovation to benefit the health and well-being of tenants.A high-rise, high-density housing estate that remains a prominent feature of Britain's urban landscape dating from the 1960's.Wilmcote House used a combination of several products and systems namely ROCKWOOL external wall and flat roof insulation together with a selection of the company's firestopping and fire protection products.

Glenfield in Leicester is one of the UK’s leading hospitals for coronary care and respiratory diseases. The hospital’s Vascular Services Department has been redeveloped to provide additional patient accommodation and services including a new Angiography Treatment Suite with a technically advanced Hybrid Theatre. 2,000m² Rockfon® MediCare® ceilings were installed throughout to meet the demanding specification requirements which included acoustic control, fire protection and hygiene.

Sika supplied a single-source warranty as part of a dual waterproof solution for a large, privately-built concrete basement to guarantee its long-term protection against the perils of damp and water ingress.The 153m2 basement was part of a new build house in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. After exploring various options, they came to Roché for help.Working with their main contractor, Bowmer & Kirkland, we installed a 65m2 Eurolook shutter. The Ascent Aluminium Roof Access Steps were specified to meet the clients requirement to create a safe access route up & over the “saw-tooth” roof for maintenance personnel. In this instance the Ascent steps were specified for use with an adjacent MSA Latchways climb-latch fall protection system. If collective protection is required handrails can be supplied to one or both sides of the steps. The Ascent Aluminium steps were specified for this project by Eurosafe Solutions Ltd a specialist fall protection company who also installed steps. The Ascent Aluminium walkway steps are tested for use on the aluminium standing seam roof and are secured back to the roof sheet using a proprietary support clamp. The Ascent aluminium walkway is designed in accordance with BS EN 516:2006 Prefabricated accessories for roofing, BS 4592, Industrial Type Flooring and stair treads, BS EN ISO 14122-3 Stairs, stepladders and Guardrail, BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013 Pendulum slip resistance. And is manufactured under ISO 9001 and CE 1090 factory production control procedures, creating a walkway that is CE / UKCA compliant.The walkway steps can be configured with a handrail to withstand a loading of either 0.36 kN (general duty) or 0.74 kN (heavy duty) and can be supplied with an optional toe-board if required. The system can achieve these loadings without the need for additional bracing, allowing the walkway to be placed against the area to be accessed. UKCA / CE marked. Designed & Tested in accordance with BS EN 516:2006 Class 1 Type C. Designed & Tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 14122-3:2016 where a handrail is fitted. Designed & Tested in accordance with BS 4592-0:2006+A1:2012 for loadbearing and BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013 for anti-slip. With or without handrail.Standardized modular system roof walkway system. The British Horse Society headquarters is on a listed deer park with many protected trees. The building’s circular design posed key construction challenges. The single storey office building was constructed in a doughnut shape, to ensure that a mature oak tree on site was preserved. In keeping with its green surroundings Spectraplan SM120 Dark Grey, a polyester reinforced TPE waterproofing system was mechanically fixed to a composite metal deck, ready to receive a sedum blanket.

The Sky View development is a mixed-use twin-tower complex, with a Hotel, residences and serviced apartments, in downtown Dubai. The new landmark will be known as the figurative gateway to Downtown Dubai. The development has an unique view, with the Burj Khalifa (the world’s tallest building) on one side, and the Arabian Gulf on the other. The chosen solution for sealing the towers’ facade connections as Effisus Ecofacade, in order to protect the towers against water damage and to improve their energy efficiency.

Coopers solution was to install over 100 SmokeStop smoke curtain barriers. Concealed within the ceiling voids of each of the 39 floors, the SmokeStop smoke curtain barriers were developed to deploy in the event of fire, channelling smoke away from occupant and out of the building. This effective strategy for containing and channelling smoke would ensure that Gherkin’s 41 floors were protected from filling with smoke and provide occupants with a safe means of escape.

37 Fleet Street (Hoare’s Bank) was built in 1829 as the headquarters of C. Hoare & Co who remain the only family owned bank still in existence. Corrosion had effected the building significantly and the façade was cracking due to iron cramps and pins corroding.C-Probe Systems provided the low carbon, smart materials to create an ICCP system which effectively protected the structure and controlled the corrosion. Winner of the ICRI 2007 Award of Excellence.

Liquasil's BBA Approved cut edge corrosion treatment was specified for use on this metal roof on an industrial unit in central Birmingham. Liquasil SWT Primer was first applied to all rusted areas. SWT stands for "Surface and Wet Tolerant" meaning that it can be applied to wet and rusted surfaces. The primed areas were then coated with Liquasil's Flexlap - a purpose made silicone polymer coating to provide total protection from further lap corrosion.

Full FF&E fit-out for Balfour Hospital Orkney.Robertson Construction built this £65 million facility for NHS Orkney that is transforming healthcare services on the islands. We delivered the full FF&E fit-out including wall protection, blinds, bedheads and cubicles, as well as all the fitted furniture. Working closely with the Keppie Design team we also provided reception counters plus bespoke seating for the atrium and café.

Located in Istanbul, Turkey, the Istanbul International Airport was inaugurated on 29 October 2018 and has continued expanding. Once all phases of airport construction are complete, the airport is estimated to serve 200 million passengers per year.Our Sanparrel™ Rigid Sheet has been installed throughout the terminals and some of the airport hotels as well. Using our Elements patterns, the installation looks sleek and modern and is protected for years to come.

Despite the potentially catastrophic consequences of changing a specification for fire resistant glazing, doors and windows, specifications are still being routinely altered just to save a few pounds or due to a lack of technical understanding, according to leading fire, thermal and acoustic insulation manufacturer Promat UK Promat UK is supporting the market with a campaign to raise awareness of the significant risks of changing even the tiniest detail in the specification of building elements that are designed to protect lives and properties.

The Ascent Aluminium fixed ladder access system was specified to create a permanent safe access route to the roof for maintenance personnel. As the ladder provided access between two membrane roofs there was a requirement to specify non-penetrative support feet at both head & base. Hoops were provided throughout for fall protection and the ladder was designed in accordance with BS 4211:2005+A1 2008 and manufactured in accordance with CE 1090 factory production control procedures.

Southern Green, a landscape architecture firm based in Gateshead, was appointed to design the landscape at Northshore Innovation Centre, a project that is part of a wider regeneration masterplan in Stockton-on-Tees, which has been referred to as one of the most exciting regeneration developments in the north of England in recent years. Tobermore provided Southern Green with a variety of hard landscaping products that offered modern aesthetics to complement the new building whilst protecting against pavement shifting.
