Victoria Gate is one half of Victoria Leeds; a beautiful shopping district, recognised as one of the premium shopping destinations in the North of England. The award-winning Victoria Gate opened in October 2016 and is a modern interpretation of Victoria Quarter, paying homage to the surrounding architecture. Artform were asked to supply a mixture of street furniture items to the prestigious city centre development. The products specified were the Parc Vue seats, with and without armrests, the Loop cycle stands and the Spencer litter bins. Artform also provided a full supply and installation service on this project.

This prestigious residential development in Knightsbridge demanded the highest specification for all trades. New Era Acoustic cradle system was specified to conform to Document E regulation. The floor height was 125-165mm using a 46mm batten at 400mm centres with a 22mm T&G plywood glued and screwed to the battens. This gave a perfectly acoustically isolated sub-floor for the carpets and oak flooring to be fitted on

The project at Canary Wharf required a selection of stylish street furniture made from stainless steel to match already existing product found at the site. Artform supplied the project with a variety of standard and bespoke products. The Steely Can Litter Bin by Landscape Forms was chosen for the project, to be placed both externally around the beautifully landscape site, and internally in the retail malls which house some of the most recognisable retail names. Simple and sleek in design, yet robust and durable, the large capacity Steely Can fits Canary Wharfs' requirements perfectly.

The new 4-screen Everyman Cinema in the town centre of Altrincham was created by refurbishing a vacant former retail unit. Designed by Fusion DNA, the striking building envelope features Senior’s high-performance, fully capped SF52 aluminium curtain walling. With exceptional thermal efficiency and attractive slim sightlines, the SF52 system created a welcoming entrance to the venue and a bright and attractive interior for the first-floor bar and restaurant. The new cinema also features Senior’s robust SPW501 commercial aluminium doors, which are ideally suited to high traffic retail and leisure schemes.

One Hyde Park is a major residential and retail complex located in Knightsbridge, London. The development includes three retail units totaling 35,800 m2 and 86 residential properties with prices starting at around £20 million. The Outdoor Deck Company supplied and installed premium grade Ipe timber decking to all roofs across all four buildings. The deck boards were supported by 28,000 DPH Buzon pedestals. The project was a success and the Outdoor Deck Company were proud to be involved in installing their first-class products to one of London’s most prestigious developments.

Vehicle and pedestrian safety barriers for edge protection on perimeters, ramps and other areas in three multi-storey car parking at a new shopping mall adjacent to the London Olympic Park.Berry Systems installed one of our largest ever car park safety barriers projects at Westfield Stratford City with over 7 kilometres of Berry Beam barrier, all mounted on our impact absorbing spring steel buffers.The £1.5bn Westfield Stratford City complex covers an area of 1.9 square miles and houses 300 retail outlets, 70 food outlets, 3 hotels, multiplex cinema, bowling alley and casino. It also has 5, 000 parking spaces across 1 adjacent and 2 integral multi-storey car parks. The safety barriers were very carefully specified by architects: Buchan Group International. The car park structures are metal framed with concrete decks with an exterior expanded metal mesh surround and cladding. All floors have our Berry safety beams mounted on RB1X and GH spring steel buffers to provide full perimeter protection meeting BS EN 1991-1-1 and BS 6180 standards.All the ramps in the two overground car parks have curved Berry Beam barriers to match the varying radius of the ramps. On tighter bends and at ramp exits, chevron signs have been mounted directly to the barriers. All ramp returns and split level areas are protected by our barriers, again mounted on RB1X buffers with handrail extensions and anti-climb mesh.

Located in the commercial heart of Belfast, Donegall Place, formerly a bank building, has been part of the city landscape for over 50 years. The 5-storey building expands over 82000 square ft and is comprised of both office and retail space, part of which has been the home to Boots since the 70s.Project Year: 2021Architect: GM Design AssociatesProduct: ASSA ABLOY RD100-3 Wing Revolving doorProject Background: In 2017, the Architect obtained planning approval to extend and refurbish the building and upgrade lobby areas, shop fronts and facades including the main entrance. Looking to install an EN16005 compliant manual activated revolving door with integrated air curtain, the main contractor, Graham Construction, got in touch FAAC Entrance Solutions to submit their proposal for this project.Solution: FAAC presented the RD100 Revolving Door as the best product for this entrance, not only for representing a more cost-effective solution, but also by installing a power assisted automatic door rather than a manual one, made for a safer and more user-friendly entrance, thus providing better value overall. AT 18 FLOORS HIGH AND VISIBLE FROM MUCH OF GLASGOW’S CITY CENTRE SHOPPING SPOTS, THE 249-BEDROOM HOTEL IS PERFECTLY LOCATED FOR VISITORS TO THE CITY.6,500m2 3mm Aluminium 3103 H14 and 6063 T6 Extruded Aluminium has been used in the impressive reclad project, in a modified version of the Sotech Optima FC Eco system.Originally built in the early sixties and one of the first high-rise buildings in Glasgow, the 14,500 sqm project contains two distinct elements – the 3 storey podium and the 17 storey tower. The tower houses the hotel accommodation while the podium element incorporates upgraded retail accommodation on ground, first and second floor levels.In order to maintain the previous aesthetic of the building, the FC Eco system was modified to create an increased panel depth. Sotech had to completely re-engineer the panel system to allow for this increased panel depth whilst maintaining its integrity and superior flatness. As a result, the panels have been fixed to a composite panel wall build up, meaning the ECO support grid system arrangement was required due to its shallow zone requirement.Some of the panels produced for this project are circa 5.5m in length making it one of Sotech’s first solid Aluminium projects with panels larger than 4.2m.Months of F.E.A analysis was required to produce a system capable of meeting the site requirements and we are incredibly proud of the technical team for their expertise and flexibility in finding a solution to the complex challenge.

Goodluck Hope is an exciting new development located on the historic Leamouth Peninsula, with incredible views along the River Thames, settled by Allies and Morrison architects. The development includes new shops, restaurants, bars and outside spaces to eat, shop and relax in. In order, to protect the façade elements and ensuring the protection of the building against driving rain and moisture preventing future corrosion, insulation deterioration and mould growth at the same time it increases the building energy efficiency and minimizes the condensation risk, Effisus Breather FR-B Membrane and Effisus Breather FR Class A1 membrane were applied.

Situated in the heart of London’s West End, New Bond Street is home to many of the world’s iconic fashion houses.Prestigious French brand Chanel originally moved to New Bond Street back in 2010, holding only 10,000 square feet of retail space.Doubling their retail space, Chanel commissioned Macdonald Architects to design their new Flagship boutique at 158-159 New Bond Street.Miller Druck, approached Albion Stone looking for a ‘flawless’ material for the externals of the Chanel Store.Albion Stone offered their Jordans Basebed stone due to its historical context around Mayfair.

The 2ha site overlooks the Oval Cricket Ground and will be redeveloped with 738 new homes, offices, retail and leisure facilities.This is another landmark project where the OBEX CORTEX 0500FR Class B Membrane and the 0771FR Class B Paste Adhesive were specified - critical to the installation achieving the required performance standards and fire-classification.New Homes: 1309Acres: 8Office Space: 12798 sq.mRetail Space: 2525 sq.m

A vibrant new community is being created at Battersea Power Station offering the best retail, office, leisure and green space plus unique homes. Working with Maylim, the Outdoor Deck Company were specified for a multitude of areas across this 39-acre site, including the supply and installation of Cedar privacy screening for all apartments on the podium level plus a large Iroko deck area alongside the retail outlets. The Outdoor Deck Company were also responsible for the supply and install of timber seating in the specially designed communal areas and Cumaru seating, planters and a bespoke pergola on Level 8.

The Challenge Modern paving was required for community-based retail developmentSuperValu invested €12m in a 15,200 square foot store in Dunboyne, Co Meath. The location of the retail development has great significance to the local community, having previously served as the local GAA grounds.  Extending its current product offering, the new scheme also aims to become a local community hub. The design champions a community ethos with the inclusion of a large open outdoor space. The open plan space offers flexibility for market stalls or event structures. The new development has incorporated four adjacent units, office accommodation and a café. The new state-of-the-art retail hub required high quality paving that would complement the grey brick and granite cladding of the building. The main entrance and pedestrian walkways needed to fulfil the hard landscape design aspirations.  The Solution Tobermore’s Fusion and Manhattan perfectly complement the retail hub  Tobermore presented hard landscaping options to complement the new state-of-the-art retail development. Fusion and Manhattan block paving were the perfect choice to blend with the grey brick and granite cladding building.  Laid in alternating bands, the striking granite aggregate finish of the paving responds to the staggered elevations of the building. Linear paver Manhattan was used for areas of the main walkways in mixed sizes with smaller units of Fusion laid either side. The three-colour mix of grey tones in a stretcher bond laying pattern adds character and visual appeal to the central plaza.  The grey tones do not follow a particular sequence and the linear bands do not adhere to fixed widths. The intention was to achieve a certain randomness that feels natural and softens contrast. The range of unit sizes and colours of Fusion and Manhattan helped create this vision.  Tobermore’s Fusion kerb added the finishing touch to the project with its striking granite aesthetic as a border surrounding the soft landscaping in the central plaza.   

In the new Ceramic Tile Distributors (CTD) showroom in Woking, Surrey, tile products by Saint-Gobain Weber have been specified for their new 400m² sales facility which includes an extensive showroom and trade counter.Relocation of Ceramic Tile Distributors (CTD) from their original showroom on the junction of Goldsmith Road and Church Street West to Kestrel Road a few miles away was brought about by the £150m redevelopment of Woking town centre."The relocation of CTD has not presented a problem," says Rob Stevens, manager, CTD Woking. "The showroom looks brilliant – it's bigger and better, and our trade custom has definitely increased. We also attract lots of private customers who enjoy the simplicity of the large sample displays and the huge variety of tiles for every location."Several site visits were made by Weber's tile specialists to inspect the floor substrate and identify the appropriate materials. The floor was prepared with weber PR360, a multi-purpose priming solution suitable for most building substrates including wood, anhydrite, plaster and cement/sand screed. This primer regulates the porosity of the substrate and improves adhesion and the flow of levelling compounds.High performance, fibre-modified weberfloor flex was then applied which is a self-smoothing and self-levelling compound suitable for most substrates. It has rapid setting qualities and can take light foot traffic after just 3 hours. It is also one of the many products in the Saint-Gobain Weber range to feature Low Dust Technology™ which makes it cleaner and more comfortable for the applicator to use.Large format GEMINI Young Stone tiles in grey were set with weberset rapid plus ECO which is a very rapid strength tile adhesive for low porosity tiles, such as ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, and has been specifically developed to allow easy bedding of large format tiles. It is suitable for use on solid substrates and is ready for grout in only 2 hours. The new ECO formulation contains cement replacement technology which reduces the product's environmental impact of initial excavation and contributes to a significant reduction in transportation costs.The CTD Woking showroom floor was grouted with weberjoint wide which is suitable for very wide joints from 2-20mm. This is a cement-based floor and wall grout which gives a coarse textured finish. It has the added benefit of Mould Stop Technology which ensures lasting protection from mould growth, it's also abrasive-resistant and available in seven colours.As part of Woking's redevelopment, the bandstand, fire station and market place will all be demolished to make way for a new complex featuring shops, apartments, parking and a hotel. On the old CTD site a brand new state-of-the-art fire station is to be developed providing additional space and working areas for the crews and an improved training facility.

The new London Awards 2019 Retail category winner, is the only Arcade on Regent Street. The development has breathed new life into this Grade II listed building.Part of the transformation was designing a stunning and inviting tiled floor space, which replaced the previous Regent Street column. InOpera Group closely collaborated with the architect BARR GAZETAS to create a beautiful terrazzo tile floor that complemented the aesthetics of the new entrance.The redesigned arcade features two floors of retail and an internal floor area of 3650 sq m. To maximise the 90-year-old building’s retail potential a large column situated centrally at the arcade’s entrance was removed, and replaced with elegant curved glazing and beautiful captivating flooring leading into the arcade.The intricately designed flooring that pays homage to M.C. Escher’s box artwork design. It consists of four cement-based Architectural terrazzo tiles: Ecru, Ghiaccio, Grafite, to form the ‘box’ design and Carbone to trim the edge of the flooring.The redeveloped arcade has achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating against the BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fit Out 2014 methodology.

Birmingham New Street Station and the old Pallasades shopping centre has undergone a £600m redevelopment and has now become Grand Central Birmingham. Heavy duty movement joint covers were required for both the centre and its adjoining multi-storey car park to prevent damage due to excessive traffic. CS provided the heavy duty APF Series for the shopping centre’s interior. They are very strong against rolling loads as well as distortion and wear. The robust KB Series joint covers were provided for the multi-storey car park, featuring a unique centre plate with a 1000kg loading capacity.

The Challenge The creation of a retail and leisure destination occupying a 16-acre site on a former chemical works in the heart of the historic market town of Beverley, East Yorkshire. The Solution The development needed to be designed and constructed as a natural extension to the traditional and original town centre. Forterra’s Oakthorpe Red Multi Stock brick was chosen to achieve the desired effect. The Benefits Alongside retail space, the scheme also encompasses restaurants, a multi-screen cinema, college campus, office accommodation, a hotel and 500-space carpark. Do you know the story behind the original skull murals at The Thee Amigos Skate Shop in Camden, London? On their original shop exterior art, Polyvine decorators varnish was used to protect the vibrant colours from fading over time. This mural was up for around 9 years, but a few years down the line, Polyvine were sent an image of the mural, which had faded everywhere but on the skulls! Why? Well, the varnish had only been applied around the skull artwork, to protect these gorgeous colours, and not on the background. This simply shows how effective our decorators varnish is for protecting against the UV rays that cause colours to face over time.

As part of a multi-million-pound development aimed at enhancing the overall shopping experience, Maple undertook the creation of a decorative architectural panel facade. This transformative project was executed in collaboration with Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre, focusing on the redevelopment of their new 601-space multi-storey car park.The primary objective was to augment parking capacity at Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre by 25%, emphasizing the dual purpose of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The design aimed to make a distinct architectural statement, contrasting with the steelwork of adjacent structures while ensuring stability and a visually striking appearance. Given Maple's established reputation for pioneering innovative architectural façades, the collaboration was a natural fit for this ambitious undertaking.Teaming up with contractor McLaughlin & Harvey and architect Cooper Cromar, Maple played a crucial role in bringing this impressive five-floor development to fruition.The centerpiece of the project was a 'living art' façade for the new car park, featuring a curved timber-clad steel enclosure inspired by nature. Enhanced by captivating landscaping and boardwalk frontage, the design sought to harmonize with the environment.The construction of this intricate feature façade involved the use of sustainable materials, including 700m2 of Corten steel cladding, 1,100m2 of vertical timber fins, and 1,200m2 of curved timber fins spanning 75m.Through the thoughtful combination of these materials, Maple successfully contributed to the creation of a visually stunning car park exterior that met both the aesthetic and structural requirements of the project.The Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre car park development served as a testament to Maple's proficiency in designing, manufacturing, and installing architectural facades for landmark buildings, employing sustainable construction materials and showcasing their commitment to excellence.

Lululemon specified ARDEX polished Concrete Topping (PCT) as it gave them the complete freedom to accomplish almost any design they desired whilst still offering a durable retail floor system.

Castlehouse Construction has the £7m main contract to build three industrial units totalling 29,950 sq ft for Carnworth Estates adjacent to the Pheasant Fields Lane retail park in Skelton.

The creation of this new store for supermarket chain Lidl is a part of the larger residential led mixed-use Waterline development which has seen the creation of a striking 27 storey residential tower block providing 251 new homes in Wembley, London.Formerly known as Minavil House, the demolition of the derelict commercial building has provided ample scope for the regeneration of the wider area and the new mixed use scheme provides a variety of facilities including retail and office space.The ground floor level supermarket has been designed to complement the main buildings whilst providing a practical solution for a high traffic retail space.Our SF52 aluminium curtain wall has been used to great effect on the main façade of the store, with feature fins and sloped glazing elements. To provide safe and secure access, and help reduce maintenance requirements, our robust SPW501 aluminium commercial doors were also installed by our supply chain partner Soundcraft. Designed by Alan Camp Architects, the Waterline development has been built by HG Construction.As well as adding to Senior’s order book in London and the South East, the creation of the new Lidl supermarket also draws on our expertise of delivering curtain wall and commercial door solutions for the retail sector. The thermal efficiency of our slim line SF52 aluminium curtain wall system makes it ideally suited to reducing the environmental impact of retail buildings, by meeting the requirements of Part L, and also maximising the use of natural light. In fact, our SF52 aluminium curtain wall system made its debut on the flagship Sainsbury’s superstore in Sheffield.

A ‘one-stop-shop’ waterproofing solution installed across the entire structure of this exclusive project. Located on the site of the old Bowater House in Knightsbridge, this esteemed development was dubbed ‘the most luxurious address in London’.
