It offers uninterrupted views of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, unrivalled residents’ facilities and the highest of specifications. The Outdoor Deck Company supplied and installed decking, contemporary screens, butt-joint fencing, seating, step and riser units plus pergolas (RAL colour-matched aluminium with hardwood and Cedar slats). This prestigious project was awarded the `Grand Award` and `Principle Award – Hard Landscaping Construction over £1.5m` at the BALI National Landscape Awards in December 2017.

This new store was the first of its kind in the country, tested in the Central Arlington location (612 W. Park Row). With over 3,000 Arlington High School students just across the street and over 34,000 UTA Mavericks under a mile away the store is perfectly situated for big sales. Conceived as a kid-friendly yet upscale environment, the restaurant marries a fast-casual vibe with modern details. Therefore, Accoya was the ideal choice for this exterior application due to its superior aesthetics, sustainability and class 1 durability.

The café/restaurant building acts as a focal point for the Felixstowe South Seafront regeneration. The site lies in close proximity to the Martello Tower P, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade II Listed Building. The roof and walls use QUARTZ-ZINC and PIGMENTO zinc in both standing and Adeka panels

TG Escapes designed and built an early years eco-building for their client Colston’s Lower School in Bristol. The building was tailored to the school’s needs, providing a separate learning space to house all the early years' students in one building. When designing any environment for young children, safety is a priority. That is why TG Escapes chose non-slip decking to surround the new school building. Gripsure met TG Escapes' rigorous non-slip requirements on this project with brown-treated Gripsure Classic, featuring three anti-slip strips. This is the first project regular Gripsure customer TG Escapes has completed in a brown-treated decking. They chose this finish to complement the Western Red Cedar cladding used on the eco-building. It is also the first project for which TG Escapes has used three-strip non-slip decking to further reduce the risk of slips and falls. A representative for TG Escapes explained “In early years buildings some of the children are of nursery age. Their feet may be so small that they would fit in between the space of two anti-slip infills, and be offered no coverage at all. Having three anti-slips eliminated this risk.” With a PTV value of 100, Classic allows access all year round offering peace of mind.

Benenden Hospital is a state-of-the-art private hospital in Cranbrook, Kent specialising in a wide range of discretionary healthcare and well-being services to individual and business healthcare members.• The original hospital opened in 1907 by National Association for the Establishment and Maintenance of Sanatoria - to treat postal workers suffering from tuberculosis. By 1951 the Association had disbandedand the Benenden Healthcare Society took over the sanatorium, dramatically expanding the services available.• Architects C A Vaughan Blundell were appointed to design a new atrium and welcoming area to enhance the patient and visitor experience.• The £55m project attained a Breeam status of ‘Good’.The SchemeThe scheme, designed by architects C A Vaughan Blundell with assistance from SR Architects Ltd, has created a wonderfully light and airy entrance atrium designed to welcome and create an enhanced patient and visitor experience with maximised natural daylight. The extensive breakout and catering facilities support theatres, en-suite rooms, outpatient department and ophthalmic suite along with diagnostic imaging, rest and recovery areas. The main contractor was Willmott Dixon Construction.The AdvantagesThe skylights have a unique ability to bathe interior spaces with diffused and glare-free daylight, which creates a stimulating and healthy environment. In addition, their heavily insulated composition eliminates glare and hotspots, thereby reducing the load on temperature control systems and the need for artificial lighting.They provide additional light in the large atrium projecting it deep into the interior. They were specified complete with highly insulating Nanogel which achieves an impress U value of 0.28W/m2K, helping the project attain a Breeam status of ‘Good’. This is particularly impressive given the amount of curtain walling and clerestory glazing involved in the scheme.Kalwall skylights can be manufactured to large spans up to six metres. The aluminium or thermally-broken grid core with interlocking I-beams gives Kalwall incredible strength. The lightweight system reduces the need for supporting structures while offering the highest protection in terms of wind-borne debris and resistance to impact, abrasion and point loads. The exterior face is colour stable and includes a UV resistant, self-cleaning surface. This means that normal  rainfall helps to keep the surface free of dust and dirt while at the same time retaining its original colour during the weathering process. The Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) is a state of the art rehabilitation centre for the armed forces and potentially the nation. RCM supplied over 4,000 sheathing boards to the project.

The asbestos cement roof to this industrial unit in Hereford was heavily contaminated with moss and lichen and was leaking in numerous places. The moss and other vegetation was first dampened down, scraped off and placed into designated asbestos waste bags for licensed disposal. The roof was then steam cleaned. All metal fixings were treated with Liquasil's rust primer and sealed with Non-Sag Sealer. Small holes and cracks were sealed with Non-Sag Sealer. The entire roof was then coated with Asbestsoeal 20 and is now resistant to moss growth and water leaks.

This case study highlights an entire ward refurbishment that was completed using BioPod’s IPS at a prominent Yorkshire based NHS Trust. Units included wash hand basins, WC and WHB for disabled toilets, IPS to cubicles and full wall IPS to consultation rooms.

The Outdoor Deck Company were specified to install high grade FSC Iroko timber decking to the large roof terrace area creating a stunning relaxation space. All decking and paving was installed on the Buzon pedestal support system and the wooden decking area was fitted with anti-slip strips to create an instant non-slip surface. The curved contrast between the paving and decking creates a soft visual appearance and takes you to different areas around the gardens. The entrance steps and risers made from Iroko premium grade hardwood include non-slip strips along the front edge of the steps.

2-6 Cannon Street is a high-end new build commercial office building located in the City of London. The Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned by Frosts Landscape Construction to supply and install the GRAD decking and rail systems, which were supported by the Buzon DPH pedestal system. This was a particularly challenging project as powder coated steel planters were strategically located in the middle of the roof terrace so installation had to be carried out around the numerous planters. Timber decked steps and ramps were also part of the overall terrace design.

The current Google HQ, with vast external floor space over several levels. The decking is a bespoke solid section 230 x 30mm composite, commissioned for this site. All fixings are hidden, giving a seamless look to the terraces, and clean lines. The main terrace areas are level and by using the DPH slope correction system, the wheelchair access ramps were easily achieved. A clever feature; the BM Unit travels over the decking, hiding the steel rails below. This enlarges the overall usable terrace space considerably, and gives uninterrupted views from the entire terrace.

The meticulous refurbishment of this Grade II Listed landmark provides a stunning range of luxuriously specified apartments. Phase 2 of this project included the installation of FSC certified Hardwood decks to create a series of private roof terraces adjoining the larger apartments. This project was particularly challenging due to the many curved corten steel planters, upstands, steps and seating areas but using the Buzon PB pedestal range to support the decking our installation team achieved seamless surfaces across all the terrace areas. The finished private roof terraces provide residents with the perfect outdoor space.

Architect: Scenario Architecture. This beautiful Victorian villa received an innovative green-roofed extension full of natural light thanks to IDSystems installed bifold doors, gable end glazing, rooflights, window and door. The challenge for Scenario Architecture was to design an extension that was filled full of natural light, took into account the changing floor levels of the property. Under the pitched roof, the gable end glazing has been designed to perfectly match the profiles of the SUNFLEX SF75 bifold doors, whilst the inclusion of a single access door allows the extension to angle away to create a larger kitchen/dining area.

Traditional Brick for a Modern AestheticFastClad was introduced to this project by EH Smith Clay Products as the best solution for processing the First Quality Facing bricks, which were critical for meeting the planning conditions, to provide a real brick faced rainscreen with a BBA Certified minimum design life of 60 years.The mission was to construct affordable housing on a difficult to access site and to demonstrate that social housing that has not been traditionally built looks as good, if not better, than traditionally built private developments.Taking the external skin off the critical path of the build, delivering the equivalent of 1,200 bricks on one pallet (as opposed to three packs of brick) to save site compound space and being able to strip the full scaffold to install the FastClad off mobile towers freeing up the site for other trades, are just some of the benefits of moving away from a full masonry build up.

DAYLIGHT FOR SHOWCASING STUDENT SUCCESSWe have always recognised that daylighting is both an art and a science, which makes it an appropriate focal point for Mahwah High School’s new STEAM Lab. The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) approach to education takes an important step in recognising the importance of and integrating the arts into a science-and-technology-geared curriculum. The arts foster creativity and ingenuity that allows for the successful application of other skills.The 9,000-square-foot facility—designed by Tokarski Millemann Architects and fondly nicknamed the “Thunderbird Think Tank” in honour of Mahwah High School’s logo—houses classrooms, indoor and outdoor labs and a gallery to showcase student projects.Tokarski Millemann was looking for the perfect material to use for the art gallery component of the facility. According to principal architect, Michael Millemann, “The vision was to create a ‘cube’ shaped space for the display of the students’ creative works which were previously tucked in a hallway. The material needed to create a beautiful glow from the exterior along with permitting only serene, diffused light to the interior.”Kalwall’s museum-quality daylighting™ delivers full-spectrum, diffuse natural light to allow for high visual acuity and accurate colour rendition within the gallery space. This creates a comfortable, welcoming environment for viewing artwork and other projects or hosting gatherings.A custom blue face sheet was developed to match the school’s logo. The blue is not a coating, but rather full-colour thickness through the entire exterior face, utilising Kalwall’s super-weathering technology. Due to the panel’s power of diffusion, the blue exterior does not affect the quality of light within the space, but it allows for a beautiful, soft glow at night that acts as a marquis for the school. During the day, Kalwall’s best-in-industry solar heat gain control prevents the cube from becoming a hot box and superior thermal performance ensures a comfortable environment all year long while lowering HVAC loads. Combined with daylighting’s ability to reduce reliance on electricity, Kalwall plays a major role in the project’s overall energy efficiency.Cost efficiency is another benefit Kalwall provided. Panels are low maintenance with a self-cleaning surface, meaning normal rainfall helps to keep the exterior free of sediment while at the same time retaining its original colour during the weathering process. The lightweight panel system minimised the need for additional internal structure for a very clean design, while rapid installation kept the project on schedule and on budget.“The Kalwall translucent panels exceeded our vision,” said Millemann. “We worked with Kalwall’s Steve Del Guercio and their team to develop a daylighting and structural strategy, and the custom panel colour. The Kalwall cube anchors the addition to the existing building and is a visual beacon located on axis with the entrance to the campus. RCM were appointed to supply their Y-wall system – a calcium silicate based fibre cement building board which offers excellent A1 Non-Combustible fire properties as well as high levels of dimensional stability. Being extensively used on timber frame structures, Y-wall provides the ideal solution.

Surf’s up and Gripsure decking is down at The Camp at The Wave in Bristol!Our Classic non-slip boards have been installed at the first inland surfing destination of its kind in the UK. People of all ages and abilities come here to experience the thrill of riding a wave – or at least having a go. There are different lessons and sessions to suit beginners and experts, as well as a range of activities for children.Just metres from the most consistent surf break in the country, The Camp provides overnight accommodation where guests are perfectly placed for dawn patrols or sunset sessions. The 25 luxury safari tents aim to celebrate the simple things in life, offering a place to escape, chillout, connect, sleep and reset.Gripsure recently provided 9,165 linear meters of our Classic boards to be used for boardwalks around the campsite, as well as porch areas outside each tent. It was the second installment of Gripsure decking at The Wave. Previously, our Classic boards were used to create a pier, boardwalks and a viewing terrace at the popular destination, which attracts hundreds of visitors each year."It was a pleasure to work with Gripsure, they did a fantastic job over The Camp. This is a metal roof coating & refurbishment project using Liquasil's BBA Approved Metalseal 20. The project involved removing an existing cut edge corrosion treatment and re-treating with Liquasil SWT Corrosion Primer, followed by two coats of Metalseal. The whole roof was then coated with Metalseal 20 to provide long term protection against fungal growth and weathering. This project involved the removal of the existing factory finish to an industrial unit in the West Midlands, followed by cut edge corrosion treatment and full roof & parapet coating. Once the original finish had been removed using high pressure jet washing, all of the end laps to the roof sheets were coated with SWT (Surface & Wet Tolerant) corrosion primer, to prevent further rusting. Once cured, the roof was coated with the BBA Approved Metalseal 20 to a film thickness of approx 300 microns.

This project was completed in July 2018 in Guernsey. It involved lining approximately 1000 linear metres of metal guttering to a large office and manufacturing centre using Liquasil's liquid gutter lining system, Gutterseal. Made in the UK from advanced silicone polymer, the finished result is a seamless, leak-free gutter
