Non-Conductive, Anti-Slip Flooring and Walkways | Case StudyArena Events Group chose Dura Composites to supply the tiered structure stadium decking for the seating and platform areas, manufactured from our high quality and corrosion-resistant Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) Dura Slab 40 and 20 products which provided an anti-slip, fire-tested and load-tested alternative to the Buffalo® Board and traditional plywood used previously. Dura Composites’ ability to be able to meet a range of stringent test requirements including flare resistance tests and FEA analysis made us the ideal choice for this high profile project which not only allows for future changes to seating configurations, but also improves access to amenities on the concourse. The two types of Dura Slab used on this project are precision engineered GRP structural flooring systems that provide an incredible strength to weight ratio. High strength fibreglass composite is pultruded in one mass to produce a consistent quality flooring structure that is also non-corrosive, chemically resistant – and has an anti-slip walking surface.

Team BOYCO collaborated with Heron Brothers and DB3 Group Architects to transform storage for Helensburgh Leisure Centre.Project ScopeLocated on the Victorian costal town of the River Clyde in West Scotland, Helensburgh Leisure Centre prides itself on being kitted out with world-leading Technogym facilities. Their fitness centre houses a variety of over 50 items of gym equipment, and the requirement arose for a storage solution to house all the additional equipment as well as other supplies required for the day-to-day operations. The BOYCO WayBackgroundCatering to both Helensburgh Leisure Centre staff and gym users, 4-tier wall shelving was installed in the fitness centre. These shelves house various equipment and supplies from yoga mats to 15kg weight bags which are to be used daily by staff and members of the public, therefore it was critical in the design that the structure was load bearing.For optimum strength, the Shelving was both wall and floor fixed in all store areas. This secure fitting ensures that when gym equipment, cleaning supplies, or swimming accessories are being taken and put back, it does not lean forward or topple with the distribution of weight, contributing to the safety of the leisure centre employees and users.After being approached by Heron Brothers regarding the project, BOYCO travelled to Glasgow to meet with the customer. As a brand trusted to deliver, our support in project management ensured smooth and efficient product delivery and installation.Bespoke ProductsDue to the shelving being in numerous places in Helensburgh Leisure Centre, from the main pool store to cleaner’s store, emphasis was placed on creating a bespoke storage solution that follows BOYCO’s ‘Built to Last’ quality. There was also a requirement for the shelving to contribute positively to the safety as well as aesthetics of the various different areas, whether housing cleaning products or swimming accessories.As per the BOYCO standard, the timber slats used in the fixed shelving is twice coated with our anti-microbial lacquer. This is formulated to stop bacteria from surviving on its surface, preventing the spread of 99% of all known bacteria. The shelving is a high touch point area for Helensburgh Leisure Centre, being regularly used by staff for collecting, returning, and moving equipment for various fitness sessions. Therefore, the anti-microbial lacquer positively contributes to the overall hygiene of the area.The fixed shelving metal frame is coated with our ‘Hot Dip’ Nylon. Also offering anti-microbial properties, it provides 500x more abrasion resistance than powdered-coated paint alternatives. Guaranteeing in even high traffic environments, this was perfect for the leisure centre due to the shelving housing frequently used items such as heavy weights, ensuring that the fixed furniture follows our ‘Build to Last’ ethos and continues to be a fantastic looking product.Project SuccessFollowing the completion of the project, Helensburgh Leisure Centre now houses fantastic storage shelving units for their cleaner’s store, studios, general store, and pool store.Team BOYCO are delighted to have supplied and delivered a long-lasting solution to the leisure centre and provided improved accessibility to equipment and supplies for staff. Manchester Piccadilly Station has received a huge cycling boost after Falco manufactured and installed a series of 228 mixed-use cycle parking spaces across five separate areas at the north west city’s principal railway station.Working in conjunction with Network Rail, TfGM and Avanti West Coast, the scheme involved the manufacture, supply and installation of a number of mixed-use cycle parking systems with associated canopies, along with the provision of a cycle repair and maintenance station to allow commuters to carry out cycle maintenance whilst on the go.Falco provided station operator, Network Rail, with feasibility studies, completed landlords consent submission, contract planning and worked with station staff and stakeholders to re-configure the stations CCTV systems to ensure full coverage of the new cycle racks. Falco provided a full turn key solution, including required civil engineering works and hand back documentation to ultimately deliver the full implementation of the new cycle parking infrastructure. This is the new eye-catching cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for c2c’s Westcliff Station in Westcliffe-on-Sea, Essex.The new secure cycle hub addition has been fitted with the tried and tested FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack, providing commuters to the station with secure cycle parking for up to 32 bikes, all within a spacious, purpose built shelter design.In addition to the cycle racks, the sleek 6m x 3.6m cycle hub has been fitted with a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair station, bespoke branding graphics, a mechanical code access system, reinforced safety glass cladding and powder coating in an attractive ‘Night Blue’ RAL colour.The included cycle repair stand is equipped with a cycle pump and a number of convenient tools in order to carry out basic cycle maintenance whilst on the go.The two-tier cycle racks are housed in a bespoke contemporary design of the classic Falco Cycle Hub shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The whole shelter is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and then polyester powder coated. THE PROJECT: Recticel Insulation supplied the high quality insulation solution for an old school in Oxford. The main aim of this project, carried out by Touchstone Lofts, was to convert an uninsulated historic school building originally constructed in 1860 into a modern, energy efficient four-bedroom residential unit. The contractor endeavored to create a two storey dwelling and hoped to minimise headroom loss with insulation in both the floor and pitched roof, therefore selecting the right product was paramount.THE SOLUTION: Eurothane® GP, a low-thermal conductivity PIR insulation panel for use in multiple building envelope applications, was the obvious choice for The Institute’s ground floor and loft insulation. The product's thermal performance of λ = 0.022 W/mK enabled an appropriate thickness selection, so the desired minimum headroom loss was achieved giving the completed build an energy efficiency rating of B. A rapid solution was required for Billingsgate Market - the UK's largest inland fish market - that was fit for purpose, exceptionally durable and would not disrupt daily operations. The project involved supplying Sherwin-Williams FasTop TG69 flooring to the 13 acre ground floor of the self-contained market complex, which comprises of 98 stands and 30 shops. The solution had to be food-safe with outstanding wearing properties. A decade after it was installed , the flooring has stood the test of time and is a testament to why FasTop is widely used in the food and drinks sector.

The Valentinerhof hotel is located in the most spectacular mountain landscape of the world, close to the picturesque village of Siusi, an international tourism venue.The building, a wellness resort characterised by contemporary design and elegant atmospheres, was renovated in 2012 using Atlas Concorde ceramic materials that were chosen to clad indoor and outdoor floors, bathrooms and wellness areas.Used on outdoor floors, the Trust series covers the steps, swimming-pool edges and external areas of the spa, providing the opportunity to clad the surfaces with a continuous effect.The architectural project, which won the “2012 Sleep European Hotel Design Awards”, combines respect for the surrounding natural environment with the desire to create harmonious spaces where to regenerate body and soul.Thanks to its precious floor and wall ceramic collections Atlas Concorde consolidates its position as a partner of reference for hospitality design, contributing to the creation of welcoming and alluring atmospheres.

A £675,000 investment has seen a Belfast car park transformed into an exciting new ‘eco space’ for the public. Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland unveiled the space which sits directly on top of the Donegall Quay underground car park. The space is designed to form a new social area for locals to relax beside the River Lagan. It is a mix of grassy areas and seated spaces.

Using modern contemporary materials but drawing on historic themes and design, Hardscape worked with Landscape Architects Planit-IE to help transform a space in the centre of Manchester.

The £20million project, known as M-SParc, is a subsidiary of Bangor University and boasts labs, office space and business support to companies. Completed in February 2018, Menai Science Park in Anglesey is already making waves throughout the landscaping and architecture industry. The facility is officially Wales’ first dedicated science park, offering a staggering 31,200 square feet of lettable space which includes 45 offices, 23 laboratories and two double height workshops.

Commuting by cable car has come to the UK as a River Thames crossing with a difference opened to the public on 28th June 2012. The Emirates Air Line, a £44 million cable car system spanning the Thames in London, was officially launched by London mayor Boris Johnson. The cable cars will whisk passengers almost 300ft above the river between Greenwich, by the 02 Arena in south London, and the Royal Docks, by the ExCel exhibition centre to the north.

Significant investment in redeveloping the station has turned it into a magnificent 21st century transport hub. The redeveloped Birmingham New Street station opened its doors to passengers in September 2015, marking the end of a five-year redevelopment programme.

The vision for the Chatham Public Realm was to create an area with a strong sense of place, well connected, and easily accessed to be enjoyed by all. To achieve this, iconic features were used to form wayfinding and anchor points, as well as small scale landmarks within the town centre. This allowed users to feel safe and secure whilst visiting the town centre.

March 2018 signalled the start of a phased opening of the 68,748 sq m expansion which saw more than 90 new shops, cafes, restaurants and leisure outlets open throughout 2018 taking Westfield London to 241,547 sq m, making it the largest shopping centre in Europe.

The modernised area around King’s Cross opened on Thursday 26th September 2013 by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, who laid one of the final paving stones on the new King’s Cross Square. In April 2010, Stanton Williams Architects were announced as the winners of a Network Rail competition for the design of a new 7000m² square to the front of King’s Cross Station, as part of the King’s Cross Redevelopment Programme. Sir David Higgins, Network Rail’s chief executive, joined the mayor to congratulate teams hard at work on the final touches to the project.

The opening of Kirkstall Forge train station marked a significant milestone in the development of the area in Leeds which has been undergoing a significant transformation. Hardscape worked alongside landscape architects Planit-IE to create a contemporary paving scheme that would help put the new riverside development at Kirkstall and the new station on the map, to achieve its commercial and residential potential. Multiple paving materials were used in the scheme including the stunning Kellen Sferio Bianco Perla.

Mervyn Storey MLA the Social Development Minister within the Northern Ireland Assembly officially opened the new look Holywood Town Centre, post a £2.4million investment in the public realm, during December 2016. The project was funded in partnership between the Department for Social Development (DSD) and Ards & North Down Borough Council.

Saturday 2nd July 2016 marked the Centenary celebrations of the famous Cunard building in Liverpool – one of the city’s world–famous Three Graces. To bring the Cunard company’s legacy to life, the Hardscape team was commissioned by BCA Landscape in collaboration with design agency Smiling Wolf to craft an epic 50-metre granite stone seat.
