West Ham Stadium, London

Dura Composites Ltd

Non-Conductive, Anti-Slip Flooring and Walkways | Case StudyArena Events Group chose Dura Composites to supply the tiered structure stadium decking for the seating and platform areas, manufactured from our high quality and corrosion-resistant Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) Dura Slab 40 and 20 products which provided an anti-slip, fire-tested and load-tested alternative to the Buffalo® Board and traditional plywood used previously. Dura Composites’ ability to be able to meet a range of stringent test requirements including flare resistance tests and FEA analysis made us the ideal choice for this high profile project which not only allows for future changes to seating configurations, but also improves access to amenities on the concourse. The two types of Dura Slab used on this project are precision engineered GRP structural flooring systems that provide an incredible strength to weight ratio. High strength fibreglass composite is pultruded in one mass to produce a consistent quality flooring structure that is also non-corrosive, chemically resistant – and has an anti-slip walking surface.

Helensburgh Leisure Centre, Helensburgh

Boyco (UK) Ltd

Team BOYCO collaborated with Heron Brothers and DB3 Group Architects to transform storage for Helensburgh Leisure Centre.Project ScopeLocated on the Victorian costal town of the River Clyde in West Scotland, Helensburgh Leisure Centre prides itself on being kitted out with world-leading Technogym facilities. Their fitness centre houses a variety of over 50 items of gym equipment, and the requirement arose for a storage solution to house all the additional equipment as well as other supplies required for the day-to-day operations. The BOYCO WayBackgroundCatering to both Helensburgh Leisure Centre staff and gym users, 4-tier wall shelving was installed in the fitness centre. These shelves house various equipment and supplies from yoga mats to 15kg weight bags which are to be used daily by staff and members of the public, therefore it was critical in the design that the structure was load bearing. For optimum strength, the Shelving was both wall and floor fixed in all store areas. This secure fitting ensures that when gym equipment, cleaning supplies, or swimming accessories are being taken and put back, it does not lean forward or topple with the distribution of weight, contributing to the safety of the leisure centre employees and users. After being approached by Heron Brothers regarding the project, BOYCO travelled to Glasgow to meet with the customer. As a brand trusted to deliver, our support in project management ensured smooth and efficient product delivery and installation.Bespoke ProductsDue to the shelving being in numerous places in Helensburgh Leisure Centre, from the main pool store to cleaner’s store, emphasis was placed on creating a bespoke storage solution that follows BOYCO’s ‘Built to Last’ quality. There was also a requirement for the shelving to contribute positively to the safety as well as aesthetics of the various different areas, whether housing cleaning products or swimming accessories. As per the BOYCO standard, the timber slats used in the fixed shelving is twice coated with our anti-microbial lacquer. This is formulated to stop bacteria from surviving on its surface, preventing the spread of 99% of all known bacteria. The shelving is a high touch point area for Helensburgh Leisure Centre, being regularly used by staff for collecting, returning, and moving equipment for various fitness sessions. Therefore, the anti-microbial lacquer positively contributes to the overall hygiene of the area. The fixed shelving metal frame is coated with our ‘Hot Dip’ Nylon. Also offering anti-microbial properties, it provides 500x more abrasion resistance than powdered-coated paint alternatives. Guaranteeing in even high traffic environments, this was perfect for the leisure centre due to the shelving housing frequently used items such as heavy weights, ensuring that the fixed furniture follows our ‘Build to Last’ ethos and continues to be a fantastic looking product.Project SuccessFollowing the completion of the project, Helensburgh Leisure Centre now houses fantastic storage shelving units for their cleaner’s store, studios, general store, and pool store.Team BOYCO are delighted to have supplied and delivered a long-lasting solution to the leisure centre and provided improved accessibility to equipment and supplies for staff. We are also proud to have supported Heron Brothers and the local council with this project, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.Working on a project and need our support? Get in touch with our friendly team of experts.

Falco provided a full turn key solution, including required civil engineering works and hand back documentation to ultimately deliver the full implementation of the new cycle parking infrastructure. This installation forms part of TfGM’s continued commitment to improving active travel facilities across the region. The new facility benefits from Falco’s modular product range of shelter and cycle parking products enabling Network Rail to ‘mix and match’ the products to meet the different requirements of cyclists. The FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier rack is the UK’s most popular high capacity space saving cycle rack, whilst the FalcoRail canopy provides both single and double sided shelter with the option to extend in the future to meet growing requirements.Conveniently located across five separate areas, which includes an exclusive staff only secure cycle parking facility, the extensive installation took place at:Station ApproachInstallation of two x 4m FalcoRail single sided cycle shelters to accommodate 36nr cycles using FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier racks, installation of a 7m FalcoRail double-sided cycle shelter to accommodate 64nr cycles using FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier racks and installation of a Falcofix 2.0 Cycle pump and repair station.Fairfield StreetRemoval and disposal of existing cycle parking and installation of two x 5m and one x 4m FalcoRail Single sided cycle shelters to accommodate 66nr cycles using FalcoLevel-Premium Plus two-tier cycle racks.Exclusive Staff Cycle ParkingRemoval and disposal of existing cycle stores and installation of two FalcoLok secure cycle stores to accommodate 48nr cycles using FalcoVert-Pro semi vertical cycle stands.North DeckInstallation of a 9m FalcoGamma cycle shelter to shelter nine existing Sheffield stands.Fairfield Street Under CroftSupply and installation of seven root fixed Sheffield Stands to accommodate 14 bikes. The flagship station is fitted out with the latest FalcoLevel Premium+ two tier cycle racks which incorporate an integral gas strut to enable easier lifting of heavier bikes as well as additional locking points so that cyclists have multiple security points for their bikes. In addition there is a mix of largely two-tier as well as Sheffield cycle stands and semi-vertical racks to provide more traditional cycle parking where people are unable to use the two tier racks or if users have an adaptive / non standard cycle. In addition to the Manchester Piccadilly Station scheme shown here, Falco has just completed the roll-out of secure cycle hubs across ten of Avanti West Coast’s franchised network - connecting six of the UK’s largest cities, over 350 cycle parking spaces for a number of stations on the Govia Thameslink Railway network, over 600 cycle parking spaces for a number of stations on the Abellio Greater Anglia network and over 1,000 cycle parking spaces on a number of stations on the Abellio West Midlands Trains network.Falco’s design team works in conjunction with designers and specifiers to optimise the products and provision of a scheme. Recticel supplies the high quality insulation solution to transform an old school in Oxford

Recticel supplies the high quality insulation solution to transform an old school in Oxford

Recticel Insulation

THE PROJECT: Recticel Insulation supplied the high quality insulation solution for an old school in Oxford. The main aim of this project, carried out by Touchstone Lofts, was to convert an uninsulated historic school building originally constructed in 1860 into a modern, energy efficient four-bedroom residential unit. The contractor endeavored to create a two storey dwelling and hoped to minimise headroom loss with insulation in both the floor and pitched roof, therefore selecting the right product was paramount.THE SOLUTION: Eurothane® GP, a low-thermal conductivity PIR insulation panel for use in multiple building envelope applications, was the obvious choice for The Institute’s ground floor and loft insulation. The product's thermal performance of λ = 0.022 W/mK enabled an appropriate thickness selection, so the desired minimum headroom loss was achieved giving the completed build an energy efficiency rating of B. The contractor was thrilled with this given the constraints associated with retrofitting insulation into a period building.Paul Johal, Owner of Touchstone Lofts explained:"Recticel’s insulation provided us with a thermal solution that achieved the required U-value targets whilst keeping the overall thickness to a minimum. The quality of the product is excellent and at a competitive price. The extremely proficient technical team of Recticel Insulation were very responsive with U-value calculations, meaning we could move forward with the project more efficiently. Having the right advice and products from Recticel certainly played a crucial role in achieving our aims. We are delighted with the final outcome."About Eurothane® GP:Eurothane® GP is a high performance PIR insulation board that is light weight, easy to cut, handle and install. Whether it’s a pitched roof, framed wall or floor, Eurothane® GP is the ideal solution amongst contractors and installers
