Creating the perfect garage for classic Humber car collection

A bespoke timber side sliding sectional garage door by Rundum Meir has proved to be the perfect fit for a private collector of classic 1950s Humber cars.After moving into the period property around six years ago, the owner was keen to redevelop the unloved garage to create a space for housing his collection of mark IV B Humber Super Snipe cars. Having purchased and maintained four of these specific models over the past 15 years, he wanted to ensure the new garage would reflect the beauty of the vehicles as well as mirror the period architecture of his 1910-built home.The vehicles are now housed in a garage accessed via an automated timber side sliding sectional door, featuring glass apertures, designed, manufactured and installed by Rundum Meir UK. The six-section door spans 4m to provide easy access to the garage and painted in a high quality black finish to achieve a period look.The homeowner said: “We’re delighted with our new garage and thankful to Rundum Meir for the sliding doors which have made the dream a reality. When we started on the project we researched numerous garage door types, but we struggled to find one that was out of the ordinary, automated and available in the stable-door style we sought.“Danesch and the team at Rundum Meir were fantastic. Following an initial visit to our home, they helped us explore the options within our available budget and the door that they proposed was perfect. With the windows, it is great to be able to see our Super Snipes in all their glory with ease."The side sliding sectional door installed here demonstrates how Rundum Meir is able to develop a bespoke solution for most applications. All its doors are designed in the UK, hand crafted in Germany and assembled back in the UK prior to installation.

GEC Anderson were chosen to supply stainless steel classroom worktops, drinking fountains as well as fabrications for the main school kitchen.Classroom worktops have integrated sink bowls and are mounted on wall hung stainless steel base cabinets, also by GEC Anderson. The cantilever arrangement allows for uninterrupted floor cleaning and easier working and access to the sink units. It also facilitates the ability to mount the worktops at the height appropriate for pupils. GB4000 wall hung drinking fountains were specified in the corridor areas. The units can be mounted at any height to ensure access for the children. Within the main kitchen, sinks and and worktops include leg frames with solid undershelves in order to maximise the limited space available.Brushed satin stainless steel (EN 1.4301 grade) was used throughout.

A win-win for Stoke City Housing.GOplastic Ltd were contacted by Ruth Smith the former Landscape Architect for the Landscape Team at City of Stoke-on-Trent Council to look into a solution for their communal bin bay areas.Ruth was considering specifying our Normandy Bin Bay system for the Mier Estate neighbourhood project which is located to the south east of the North Staffordshire conurbation.There are many solutions for bin bay storage using brickwork, timber and recycled plastic. Recycled plastic bin bays have many advantages. They are supplied fully assembled and ready to install. No labour intensive brick work, no holes excavated for posts, and no maintenance plans are required after installation. The panels won’t rot or splinter and are very easily cleaned. At site meetings anchorage options were discussed to ensure that the bin bays could be fitted onto hard standing or into the ground with extended posts if required. The bin bays at 1.5 metres high allow for 240 litre household wheelie bins to be used, and the 1.8m high panels for larger 1100 litre bins if required.For communal storage adjacent to apartment buildings, this recycled plastic bin bay solution provided open storage for a number of bins. After falling in love with the beautiful and picturesque surroundings of the National Park Veluwezoom in Holland, the architecture firms client purchased a dilapidated 1950’s villa in order to live in their dream location.
What ensued was a sustainable refurbishment and extension project – key features included the creation of open plan living, full of natural light, with the inclusion of a flexible office space built on via an extension.

The basement of a chalet in the Waadtländer Alps was converted into a self-contained apartment. As fixed components of the multi-functional element, the sliding doors play a rhythmical game with the adjacent monochrome niches. When closed, the rear wall appears homogeneous as it is made completely of fir wood. The striking colour scheme that becomes visible when the doors are pushed to the side indicates various functions. The architects chose HAWA Junior 80 B hardware for the three sliding doors that run in a concealed track.

We built the world first Passivhaus CPD training facility / pub, this is the worlds most airtight pub at 0.07ach at 50 pa. This is a twin wall timber frame, it’s 450mm wide insulation Huntsman which is made of thousands of recycled plastic bottles. Huntsman also recycled 1 billion plastic bottles from the sea last year.
We have a 7.2 KW system solar panels system that powers the building, it’s got MVHR Nilan.
On the external façade we applied Passive Purple External which is airtight up to 0.03ach.

Komfort's “new addition” to their existing Sonik framed door offering, a 70mm picture framed single glazed framed doors was chosen as a balance between performance and appearance. This creaed the appearance of a traditional steel framed system with slender sections.
This was achieved with the use of our Kross Glaze bars, which were applied to both sides of the doors. Kross Glaze provides a design response to the recent trend of industrial style glazing and is becoming ever more popular within residential and commercial interiors. The use of Sonik Doors also enabled stringent acoustic performance requirements to be met.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a global brand facet of the Hilton Worldwide group, with over 780 locations across the world. In the hotel’s lobby area, LOFT20 single glazed partitioning was installed, reaching 3500mm high. The designs were made to allow for vertical and horizontal polyester powder coated aluminium trims, set at different heights, to compliment the style of the hotel.
IsoTec doors were used, reaching 3000mm in height, and the doors included LOFT style aluminium trims, bonded to both sides of the doors, to provide a uniform style throughout.

HAG was proud to work with The National Trust to secure ‘Hafod Eyri’, the amazing £8.4m visitor centre atop Snowdon - the highest peak in England and Wales. HAG’s bespoke security products were designed not just to protect against intrusion, but also from extreme elements – wind speeds up to 150mph and temperatures as low as -20oC. A particular difficulty to overcome was securing the iconic ‘Window on the World’ offering views of England, Ireland, Scotland and Isle of Man. However, our design and manufacture expertise enabled us to supply adapted Armourguard products to fit the brief even at 3500ft!

They tried a number of different plastic options but none were up to the job in a modern high traffic school environment – which is where we came in.
The discreet design of our integral finger guards design out the problem of trapped fingers, as well as helping incorporate flexibility into the building design, embracing the school's culture and ethos of community and support.

For the revolving doors’, INTRAform Entrance Matting with rubber inserts was selected. Rubber inserts are highly effective at wiping away large dirt particles and moisture, while the entrance mat fibre inserts in the matting beyond ensure any remaining moisture does not track through to the flooring beyond.For the pass doors, side doors, and main entrance lobby (beyond the revolving doors) INTRAform DM Entrance Matting with INTRAlux linear was specified. This combination of recessed aluminium matting with ribbed fibre inserts is a cost-effective solution that provides excellent secondary moisture absorption whilst also echoing the sculptural design aesthetic of the reception space.

Furthermore, the centre-hung Samsung screen is the world’s first halo video board that is roughly 70,000 square-foot, dual-sided and is considered the most LEDs ever used in a sports and entertainment venue.The SoFi Stadium will be hosting several global events from the Super Bowl LVI 2022, 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics opening and closing ceremonies.The Product:Surespan designed and manufactured four access products. Two electrically operated, double leaf, flush floor hinged access covers to suit an overall frame size of 4267 x 1768mm. Former Church gets new lease of life with new steel windows and doors, after being renovated into four superb homes

A chapel was first built at Swan Hill in the town of Shrewsbury in 1767. In 1868, this was demolished and replaced with the current building; schoolrooms were then added in 1880. Charters Property Ltd who specialise in property development, consultancy and project management, recently purchased the deconsecrated church and have transformed the building into a prestigious development of four fabulous homes.Sensitivity was key when renovating the property and the majority of the original features have been preserved. Original stone walls, lintels and cills have been repaired and impeccably replaced. The walls and roofs have been insulated and energy saving measures implemented to create a comfortable, efficient living environment.Although it was possible to restore some of the original fenestration, double glazed replacement steel windows were still required throughout the building. Clement were thrilled to manufacture these new steel windows and doors. Various Clement ranges were used to meet the different criteria required for the project. For example, the Brooking range was used for the beautiful arched head windows on the front elevation as it would best replicate the originals which would have been silicone fronted. EB16 was used for other windows where silicone fronting was not required and W20 was used to make the steel doors. In total over thirty individual windows were specified, all in various shapes and sizes.Clement Conservation Rooflights were also specified, which bring masses of light in through the beautiful, high ceilings.James Charters, Director of Charters Property said “We were very pleased with the attention to detail and finish of the steel windows, Clement took ownership of their section of the project and were able to deliver a complex scheme on time and to a very good standard.
