CE approved glazed Automatic Opening Vent for use in fire safety systems to aid smoke ventilation. The xvent can also be used as a standard natural ventilation rooflight on a day to day basis.
Glazed heat and smoke ventilator for flat roof applications which can be used day to day to provide ventilation, opening to a maximum of 45°. Upon activation of a fire alarm, the X-Vent automatically opens to 140° and cannot be closed whilst the fire alarm is activated. It is powered by an external 24 V power supply. In the event of mains failure back up batteries housed inside the rooflight base automatically take over. When running off the battery the X-Vent emits a periodic audible signal, and the LED control switch flashes red, to warn of mains power loss.
The X-Vent mechanisms have an encoder output which is used by the control electronics to achieve closed loop synchronization. The base is thermally broken, and filled with insulation to improve thermal performance. The X-Vent can be integrated into the Flushglaze for larger glazing requirements. It responds to both one touch and press and hold requests.
