Wetpour is a safe and cushioned surface for playgrounds. Its smooth, seamless finish allows for imaginative designs, while its water-permeable properties ensure reliability and versatility.
Wetpour resin bound rubber crumb surfacing, while most commonly found in playgrounds, is also used in other settings. This EPDM safety surface is suitable for:
Its versatility in terms of thickness and design makes it adaptable for various environments where safety and aesthetics are priorities.
Wetpour is a durable, impact-absorbing surface often used in playgrounds. One of the key features of DCM's Wetpour is its ability to achieve critical fall heights of up to 3 metres. It has also passed the most comprehensive testing criteria which includes flammability, indentation and abrasive wear.
Wetpour is constructed from two integral layers of rubber crumb combined with specialised polyurethane-based resins. These layers are designed to provide a safe level of impact absorption and come in varying thicknesses to match different maximum fall height risks. Essentially, the thicker the base surfacing material, the higher the fall risk it can mitigate.
DCM's rubber playground surfaces are offered in a wide range of colours, including vibrant, pastel, and neutral shades, as well as options for letters, numbers, graphics, and logos.

FAQ's:
Q: What depth is wetpour laid to?
A: The top layer of the wetpour (wearing course) is laid to a minimum of 15mm. If play equipment is present, a CFH (critical fall height) is measured and the base course is adjusted depending on the amount of impact absorbing protection that is needed.
Q: Where is the rubber and resin sourced from?
A: All rubber is sourced from the UK and western Europe only. This ensures that our products comply with safety standards and are non-toxic.
Q: How soon can the surface be used after installation?
A: We recommend a minimum of 24 hours, especially during winter months when the binder could take longer to cure.
Q: Which edges should be used when installing wet pour?
A: We recommend pre-cast concrete or rubber edges are installed to ensure that the contraction and expansion of rubber, due to temperature changes in the weather, does not cause gaps between the edge and the surface.
Q: Can wetpour be installed onto steps?
A: Wetpour can be installed onto steps, as long as there is an edge for it to be installed up to.

Recycled contentAs defined in clause 7.8 of BS EN ISO 14021 | 60 % Manufacturer guidanceWetpour surfacing consists of two distinct layers. The upper layer is composed of a 15mm thick virgin Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber. Beneath this, there is a minimum 25mm layer of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR). This SBR layer is derived from recycled end-of-life truck tires, which are fully processed and repurposed before being used in the Wetpour surfacing. |
