Preparation

weber CL150 Fungicidal Masonry Wash.

For existing substrates, or where required on new substrates, drench apply CL150 wash and leave for 48 hours, then brush down to remove all moss/ growth.

weberend aid.

Helps to provide a mechanical key.

Apply with a hawk and trowel in a tight layer 2–3 mm thick to the substrate. Texture the surface using a well loaded roller. Apply no more than 2–3 m² before texturing. It is important that the final texture achieved should be deep, heavy stipple finish with a minimum textured depth of 5–10 mm. Insufficient key will inhibit the render bond; this is particularly relevant on low suction substrates where capillary absorption is minimal. Leave to cure for 48 hours.

Thickness:

  • Mix and apply to specified thickness - this will be 3 mm more than the finished thickness. Rule off with a straight edge to achieve satisfactory in-plane surface. Remove all trowel marks, and after partial take-up, scrape back 2–3 mm to develop the final colour and texture required.
  • The finished thicknesses as appropriate: 15 mm for sheltered areas; 20–25 mm for application in areas subject to severe or very severe weather conditions in accordance with BS EN 13914-1: 2016. Consult manufacturer for further details

Glass fibre reinforcement

weber standard meshcloth.

To be installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Balanced, open weave glass fibre meshcloth, coated for alkaline resistance. 1 x 50 m roll.

Weber recommend incorporating weber standard meshcloth into the weberend aid key coat or to the first pass of the weberpral first coat, to areas of typical stress points in the construction.

Surface treatment

Not required.

weberend protect.

  • weberend protect is a surface treatment for protecting render. Prevents ingress of most types of surface contamination, including water, oil and graffiti whilst maintaining the surface aesthetics and allowing the substrate to breathe.
  • Applied by using low pressure spray, brush or roller.

Accessories/ Other requirements

Render only beads, if required by the system or product, or if specified, shall be of appropriate design, gauge and material - consult manufacturer for details. Structural, temporary or bead fixings shall be of suitable strength and durability. Some available accessories include:

  • Render only base (drip) beads.
  • Stop/ corner beads.

Where window frames incorporating window cills are to be provided by others, then the cill must project sufficiently beyond the outside line of the Saint-Gobain Weber render system to a recommended 40 mm minimum - consult manufacturer for further details.
