Description

VMZ Standing Seam is a ventilated cladding system that can be used for both renovation and new build. As the name implies, the system consists of seams that can be crimped in a single or double lock (for greater flatness single lock seams sometimes referred to as angle seams are recommended). The system has a traditional look with the seams being 25 mm high. The trays can be installed horizontally, vertically and at an angle.

The facade system offers the possibility to clad all types of walls: flat, curved or complex forms. Another advantage of this zinc facade system is that it can be used on both walls and roofs, thus allowing roof and wall to blend as one (standing seam roofs require double lock seams, and is specified separately). The cladding panels can be various sizes - it is recommended that they be no more than 4000 mm in length and 430 mm in width; consult manufacturer for details. All aspects of VMZINC can be used with 0.8 mm being the recommended thickness for facades.

Finish:

- ANTHRA-ZINC:

  • Visible grain matches the colour of slate.
  • Produced through a phosphatation of mill finish natural zinc.
  • Acceptable tolerance of: Y =5 to 7.
  • Includes a thin organic coating with a tolerance of shininess of 6 to 10.

Due to the dark colour of ANTHRA-ZINC it should be carefully considered before using on non-rinsed surfaces such as protected facades and soffits.

- AZENGAR:

  • Engraved zinc giving a product with a matt, heterogeneous and light aspect.
  • Can be used in the same fashion as other VMZINC products for both roofs and facades and is available in PLUS coating.

- NATURAL-ZINC:

  • Also known as mill finish or bright. Has a shiny metallic appearance when new and develops a patina naturally over time. In facade applications, it may take 10 years for the matt grey patina to form.
  • Due to the dark colour of ANTHRA-ZINC it should be carefully considered before using on non-rinsed surfaces such as protected facades and soffits.

- PIGMENTO all colours):

  • Natural product that enables the texture of the QUARTZ-ZINC to still be seen whilst offering the designer the choice of colour to complement other elements of a building's facade or roof.
  • Colouration is achieved with a special PIGMENTO layer that enhances the qualities of the zinc without presenting a block colour. Does not contain chromate.
  • Tested to EN 13523-10:2010 for UV-humidity and EN 15523:2001 for colour stability and requires minimum maintenance.

- QUARTZ-ZINC:

  • Appearance and texture that does not change over time.
  • When scratched, will self-heal.
  • Grey tones designed to blend well with existing construction materials.
  • Produced through a phosphatation of mill finish natural zinc.
  • Acceptable tolerance of QUARTZ-ZINC, Y = 22 to 25. Darkness of the pre-weathered zinc is measured electronically using a Y figure where 0 is black and 100 is white.
