TREMCO ES200

Description

TREMCO ES200 is a solvent free, two part, epoxy based damp proof membrane, which achieves Emicode EC1 status. It has been developed specifically for suppressing residual moisture in concrete and sand/ cement subfloors and provides a guaranteed surface damp proof membrane with a single coat liquid application.

TREMCO ES200 can be applied as part of five systems to suit the following conditions.

System TR1 (75–92% RH):

  • Apply an even, continuous coat of mixed TREMCO ES200 to a minimum thickness of 250 microns as per application instructions and allow to cure for approximately 4-5 hours.
  • Apply Treadfast Unitex latex underlayment to a thickness of 3–6 mm to the cured TREMCO ES200 as per the product data sheet.

System TR2 (75–97% RH) (99.9% RH theoretically):

  • Apply an even, continuous coat of mixed TREMCO ES200 to a minimum thickness of 350 microns as per application instructions and allow to cure for approximately 4–5 hours.
  • Apply Treadfast Unitex latex underlayment to a thickness of 3–6 mm to the cured TREMCO ES200 as per the product data sheet.
  • Secure the floor covering with the approved Treadfast adhesive.

System TR3 (Existing substrates with no damp proof membrane) Moisture content of up to 97% RH (99.9% RH theoretically):

  • Prepare the base as before.
  • Apply the TREMCO ES200 as System TR2. If the existing concrete/ sand cement subfloor is not sufficiently smooth, apply Treadfast Unitex latex underlayment prior to the application of the TREMCO ES200. Residues of old adhesive and underlayments must be removed mechanically then proceed as per specification. Treadfast Tretothane adhesive can be applied directly to TREMCO ES200 when Treadfast Unitex latex has been used to pre-smooth the substrate. System TR4 (Sandwich damp proof membrane and bonding agent):

  • Prepare base as before.
  • Apply an even, continuous coat of mixed TREMCO ES200 with a tremco long handled ‘fluff free’ roller to a minimum thickness of 250 microns as per application instructions and allow to cure for 4–5 hours.
  • Apply a second coat of TREMCO ES200 as before, applied at right angles to the first coat and whilst still in the tacky state, blind with limestone aggregate and allow to dry completely. Once dry, remove any loose aggregate.
  • Apply a quick dry screed of suitable thickness, slurry bonded into the second blinded coat of TREMCO ES200

System TR5 (75–97% RH) (99.9% RH theoretically) Underfloor Heating:

  • Prepare the base as before and ensure the underfloor heating system has been commissioned for a minimum 7days (refer to BS EN 1264-4 and BS 8204-1). In all cases the underfloor heating system should be switched off for two days prior to and two days after installation of the flooring products and floor covering. The system should be recommissioned gradually to avoid rapid temperature variation.
  • Apply an even, continuous coat of mixed TREMCO ES200 to a minimum thickness of 350 microns as per application instructions and allow to cure for 4–5 hours.
  • Apply Treadfast Epoxyprime Plus in accordance with the product data sheet.
  • Apply Treadfast smoothing compound to a thickness of 3–6 mm to the cured Treadfast Epoxyprime Plus as per the product data sheet.
  • Secure the floorcovering with the approved Treadfast adhesive.
