Performance:

With suitable glazing, rooflights can contribute to meeting the requirements of Building Regulations for conservation of heat and power. Consult Metal Technology for recommendations and details.

The windows provide Class III weathertightness as defined by BS 6375-1:

  • Static Air Permeability: <1.5m³/hr. at 600 Pa.
  • Static Water Penetration: 0 ml at 600 Pa.
  • Dynamic Water penetration: 0 ml at 600 Pa.
  • Structural performance: 2400 Pa (140mph).
  • Safety Gust Performance: 3600 Pa (210mph).

Fixing:

Lugs and/ or frame anchors used to secure windows to the building structure must accommodate predicted loads and deflection within design tolerances. Generally, fixings must be positioned 150 mm from each corner and each mullion/ transom, and at centres not exceeding 600 mm. Fixing lugs/ straps should be used only where they can be suitably concealed.

System 17 rooflight has been tested in line with PAS24 security standards and is certified by a UKAS accredited certification body.

Product Options

Finish (as delivered):

Aluminium sections are polyester powder coated to BS EN 12206, with the option of different interior and exterior colours. Consult Metal Technology for availability of colours and to obtain samples.

Glazing:

Dry glazed using proprietary, high performance captive gaskets. All double-glazed units, panels and inserts are supported continuously along all four edges by a structural member and held firmly in position by means of a screw fixed pressure plate with a snap-on face cap. All gasket joints within the frame are bonded and sealed during construction, using a suitable waterproof adhesive to ensure watertight joint at all cruciform connections.
