Application

  • Used in housing, apartments, laboratories, gyms/sports halls and offices.
  • Raising and levelling flooring in high moisture environments such as basements and waterside buildings.
  • Can be assembled on any base with any floor covering desired.
  • Renovation with SubFloor:
  • Used levelling uneven floors, raising the floor a step height or allowing for installations under the floor.
  • In situ cast SubFloors:
  • With the SubFloor system, flooring can be cast thinner. Approximately a cast flooring of 300 mm can be reduced to 200 mm and the sound insulation maintained or improved. This generates a lighter overall construction with an improved economy. The installation space created also allows for adjustments and future renovation.
  • Simple floor levelling with off-site prefabricated bathrooms.
  • Commonly installed on hollow core slabs when the objective is to attain sound class A or B for dwellings without additional coverings.

Description

An excellent alternative to classic wooden joists, steel joists are suitable for all floor types – raised, acoustic, and ventilated. These lightweight, inorganic steel joists are elevated using composite plastic screws, with or without screw feet. Typically, chipboard flooring is used on top, allowing for a wide choice of flooring materials.

For designs requiring acoustic performance, the standard feet can be replaced with our unique acoustic feet. The rest of the design remains the same as the standard SubFloor system. The acoustic feet offer dual-action dampening, reducing impact sound by up to 28 dB without compromising stability, and can be used with both wooden and steel joists.

Features and Benefits:

  • Durable in High Moisture Environments: Steel joists offer excellent material properties for high-moisture areas.
  • Superior Acoustic Damping: Reduces impact noise by up to 28 dB with SubFloor Acoustic Feet 12 or 25, enhancing overall sound insulation.
  • Comprehensive Noise Reduction: Mitigates impact noise, rebound noise, flanking transmission, and airborne noise when used with insulation.
  • Dry, Fast Installation: Can be assembled, installed and finished quickly without the need for wet surface levelling, chemical additives, or long drying times.
  • Flexible Installation Routing: Ample space between the surface flooring and SubFloor for easy routing.
  • Lightweight Construction: Weighs between 1.82 kg/m² and 4.19 kg/m².
  • Precision and Adjustability: Ensures high accuracy and adjustability with quality materials.
  • High Load Tolerance: Complies with EKS (European Construction Standards) for robust performance.
  • Versatile Height Options: Provides precision raised floors from 12 to 328 mm, with the potential for even higher flooring if needed.
