StoSilent Distance, suspended acoustic ceiling and wall system

StoSilent Distance acoustic ceiling and wall lining systems provide a suitable method to achieve pleasant room acoustics. They create jointless, sound absorbent wall or ceiling surfaces. The porous surfaces of these systems regulate reverberation, improving the sound quality in places where this is of particular importance such as call centres, banks, conference rooms, schools, colleges and atria.

StoSilent Distance acoustic systems have unique porous properties that provide high levels of acoustic absorption over a wide range of frequencies, with a fine-textured and jointless finish for a monolithic appearance.

Manufactured from recycled glass granulate (96%), the StoSilent Distance boards are lightweight yet extremely rigid. Together, the galvanized steel grid and board weigh only 9.6 kg/m². Virtually fibre-free, the system is physiologically safe for installers and users.

The highly effective StoSilent Distance boards have an average acoustic absorption of 0.70 NRC - 0.65 αW (250–2000 Hz). The boards are virtually inert at typical room temperature changes, and with their unique low thermal expansion properties can be installed in areas of up to 200 m² or 20 linear metres in one direction without the need for expansion joints.

Colour design is easily achieved with the integral sound transparent silicate spray plaster finish StoSilent Décor M, available in natural white and over 465 colours from the StoColor System or the trowel applied finish StoSilent Top, available in natural white and a limited range of colours from the StoColor system.

Fixing:

• Top fixing to structural substrate (contractors choice dependent on substrate type).
• Board fixing: 25/ 35 mm trumpet/ bugle head jackpoint or self-drilling drywall screws where installed on a galvanized support grid.
• Board fixing: 25/ 35 mm trumpet/ bugle head drywall screws with corrosion protection for C5 environments where installed on an EP coated support grid.
• StoSilent Fix board joint adhesive.
• StoSilent Plan surface filler.
