PREFALZ aluminium standing seam is available in 20 different colours, including a range of P.10 finishes. It is lightweight, malleable, corrosion resistant, rust proof and A1 non combustible.
500 and 650 mm width coils are applicable for use in standing seam roofing.
1000 mm coil widths are suitable for use as flashing strips.

Insulation | Guidance for specification option: Please insert requirement. NOTE: An aluminium standing seam roof does not have any specific requirement with regard to the insulation, unless it is used as the substrate for the standing seam in a warm roof build-up. In this instance, the insulation must be dense in quality and supportive of foot traffic without denting, with a minimum compression strength of 50 kpa (0.5 kg/cm²) at a maximum of 10% deformation and remain dimensionally stable at 100°C. |
Substrate | 18 mm WBP exterior grade plywood bonded to phenolic foam.Guidance for specification option: This system can be used for roofs with a pitch from 3 to 70º. The continuous support substrate above the rafters, must be covered with a continuous aluminium foil-backed, bituminous self-sealing vapour barrier, with a minimum SD Value of 1500 M. The vapour barrier must be sealed at the laps and to perimeter abutments and penetrations. The vapour barrier must have the ability to self-seal when penetrated by fixings. A condensation risk must be assessed for each individual project or individual project component in accordance with BS 5250: 2002. The specification may need to be adapted to the internal humidity load of the building. A breather membrane should be installed between the PREFALZ and the Metdeck/Warmdex composite panels. All joints must be sealed. Metdeck/Warmdex FR panels are mechanically fixed to the substrate (vapour barrier on metal or timber deck). The number of fixings required to secure the Metdeck/Warmdex FR, will vary with specific building details, and geographical location, and must be assessed on an individual basis. Standing seam fixings, and positioning, as per PREFA installation instructions and FTMRC Guidelines.
System Build-Up:
Cellular glass, standing seam compact construction.Guidance for specification option: Non-vented warm roof system for buildings with high humidity levels (including class 5, swimming pools), using Prefa Prefalz, and Cellular Glass as a continuous support. Cellular Glass, to be installed according to manufacturer's instructions. The system can be used for roofs with a pitch from 3 to 60º.
