Application

Suitable for retrofitting into commercial roof spaces and for outdoor and semi-outdoor terrace coverings

Description

SolaGlide sliding glass roofs maintain indoor/outdoor comfort conditions. They eliminate the current inflexibility of a building’s roof to fully open up to natural light and ventilation. Cost comparable to traditional roof constructions, SolaGlide removes the constraints of these constructions by enabling up to 75% of the roof to open up at the press of a button.

Discretely built into the ridge profiling and main mullions, the self-lubricating motor drive and glazing transport systems are protected from the elements, avoiding the need for regular maintenance. Steel reinforced polypropylene drive belts, discretely built into the main mullions, ensure even travel of the sliding glazing.

The Automatic Expansion Compensation System adjusts the drive belt tension to allow for thermal expansion arising from seasonal temperature changes. Glazing panels are independently driven from both sides to ensure problem free travel and maintain balanced loadings (on the glazing and frames). Integrated single-phase tubular or external three-phase motor options available.

Thermally broken main mullions eliminate cold bridges and condensation, maintaining 1.99 W/m²K overall U value. Maximum 32 mm thickness double glazed units, accommodating glass with up to 1.1 W/m²K. Handheld remote control, push and hold hard wired or building automation system operation options. Snap-on profiles simplify repairs or replacement in the event of vandal damage.
