Description

Self-supporting stick aluminium skylight system (gable roof or hip roof) with a wide range of mullions and transoms available to match different aesthetics and constructive requirements using integral solutions that enable the creation of new spaces with great luminosity.

Features and benefits:

  • Stick system composed of a grid of mullions and transoms constructed from aluminium alloy 6063 T6.
  • Glazing is fixed to the grid of mullions and transoms by either a pressure plate and a 52 mm cover cap, or the glazing is fixed to mullions/ transoms by using clips in their perimeter, covered by a 22 mm strip of silicone placed in the gap between glazing in order to ensure the water tightness of the system.
  • Attachment of horizontal and vertical profiles is set through unions performed with transom connectors fitted with dilatation joints.
  • Thermal bridge break is set by stackable isolators constructed from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which allow the different glazing thickness.
  • Optional internal reinforcement profiles for configurations with high mechanical requirements.
  • Optional complementary elements as solar protection louvres fixed by brackets, may be added to the skylight in the exterior.

Standard product features

Gaskets:

Water-tightness is ensured by a set of cuttable joints constructed from ethylene-propylene diene monomer (EPDM), with the possibility of using vulcanized corner cleats in the junction between mullions and transoms, and the use of a butyl strip between the pressure plate and the glazing (pressure plates and cover caps).

Drainage system:

Composes up to three levels of drainage, allowing the evacuation of potential condensation water from the transoms through the mullion channels to finally drain using deflector blocks (pipettes) as elements of evacuation.

Thermal transmittance:

  • Mullions and transoms (Uf): ≥0.9 W/m²K.
  • Glazing (Ucw): ≥0.6 W/m²K.

Performance (based on nine panels, 3 x 3.5 m):

  • Air permeability (to BS EN 12152): Class AE.
