Description

Siniat Metal Stud Partitioning is an economical, friction-fit system for assembling internal partitions. The design of the components ensures high strength, easy installation and a higher performing alternative to traditional timber frame partitions.

The system must be constructed solely with the proprietary products and components as supplied by Siniat. The system must be installed by a professional installer in accordance with: the Siniat Drywall Manual; this specification document; CAD drawings; advice; and all relevant and applicable construction standards and regulations.

System performance

All Siniat systems should be constructed to BS 8212:1995 and BS 8000-8:1989.

Guidance for specification option:

  • BS 8212:1995 - 'Code of practice for drylining and partitioning using gypsum plasterboard'.
  • BS 8000-8:1989 - 'Code of practice for plasterboard partitions and drylining'.

Framing

Siniat C Studs CS50/Rx; Siniat U Track Deep Flange UDT52/P; Siniat U Track UT52/Rx.

Guidance for specification option:

Studs:

  • 50 mm Siniat C Studs CS50/Rx at 600 mm centres. (400 mm centres if to be tiled).

Tracks (Head):

  • 52 mm Siniat U Track Deep Flange UDT52/P.

Tracks (Base):

  • 52 mm Siniat U Track UT52/Rx.

Track Note:

  • For partition heights over 4.2 m, head/base track must be appropriate width Siniat Deep Flange U-Tracks as a minimum. For partition heights over 7.2 m, head/base track must be appropriate width Siniat Extra Deep Flange U-Tracks as a minimum.

Track Fixing:

  • Head and base track fixed to structure at maximum 600 mm centres with suitable fixing by others.

Linings

Face A Plasterboard Linings - Outer Layer: 12.5 mm Siniat Standard Board.
Face B Plasterboard Linings - Outer Layer: 12.5 mm Siniat Standard Board.

Fasteners

25 mm Siniat Self Tapping Screws at 300 mm centres.

Sealing (joints and penetrations)

Intumescent acoustic sealant.

Guidance for specification option:

Apply 6 mm continuous beads of Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Sealant around the perimeter of the framing or to the edge of outer layers of board, ensuring that all air-paths are sealed. 


All penetrations should use supporting constructions detailed in the Siniat Drywall Manual unless superseded by specific test information. For combined, warrantied performance specify FSi fire-stopping products. For cPVC pipe sealing use FSI PYROPRO(R) Sealant in place of Siniat Intumescent Acoustic Sealant.
