Single Phase Electric Roller Shutters

Steel roller shutters, which are operated via a single-phase electric motor. Roller shutters provide a virtually unobstructed opening, and when open, the shutter and mechanism are out of the way above the doorway, and clear of any risk of damage from vehicles moving through the opening. The doors are robust and have a long life, with little maintenance required.

Features and benefits:

• Curtain: Constructed from 76 mm curved section galvanized steel laths, with steel end locks fitted to alternate laths to prevent lateral movement. The bottom rail is a galvanized steel inverted 'tee' section.
• Guides: the side guides are formed from galvanized steel channels and prepared for fixing to the opening structure by means of continuous fixing angles.
• End plates: fabricated from carbon steel of adequate thickness relative to door size, and supplied with angles for fixing to the structure.
• Roller: the roller is manufactured from carbon steel tube of sufficient diameter and wall thickness to resist deflection, and is mounted on bearings or in cups on each end plate.
• Operation: electrical operation is by means of a single-phase tubular motor. A safety brake is fitted to all shutters where personnel could pass underneath, thus meeting all relevant health and safety requirements. The client should provide a fused spur within 500 mm of the motor position.
• Controls: the standard method of control is by means of internal, wall-mounted push-buttons. Other types of control, including key switches and group controls, are available at extra cost.
• Casings: coil casings fabricated from galvanized steel sheet are available as an optional extra.
