Description

Two-part, total solid, modified epoxy fire protection coating for structural steel, for interior and exterior use.

It forms a heat insulation layer under the influence of fire and improves the fire resistance of steel parts such as columns, girders and framework, delaying the point at which the steel reaches its critical temperature.

Features:

  • Simple to apply – no reinforcement required.
  • Excellent corrosion protection C5-M to ISO 12944-5.
  • Short coating and curing period.

Sika Unitherm Platinum 120 can be applied direct on steel surfaces prepared Sa 2½ according to EN ISO 12944, part 4.

Light grey.

Application thickness (maximum):

4.7 mm.

Curing:

  • Touch dry: 12 hours.
  • Fully dry: 24 hours.

Overcoating:

  • Minimum: 8 hours at 20°C.
  • Maximum, interior: 7 days at 20°C.
  • Maximum, exterior: 2 days at 20°C.

Performance:

  • Compressive strength (ISO 604): 45 MPa.
  • Compressive strength (ISO 604): 45 MPa.
  • Tensile strength (ISO 527-2): 10 MPa.
  • Abrasion resistance (ISO 5470-1 – loading 1000g; disc: CS10): 65 mg/1000 R.
