Sika-Trocal S Mechanically Fastened Roof System S-Vap 500E

Homogeneous PVC waterproof membrane for use on mechanically fastened roofs.

System includes:

• Sika-Trocal® S waterproof membrane.

• Polyisocyanurate foam board insulation.

• S-Vap 500E vapour control layer.

Waterproof membrane:

A homogeneous PVC membrane, without any polyester fabric carriers, for use in mechanically fastened single-ply waterproof systems. Highly resistant to ageing and industrial pollutants and requiring no surface treatment or maintenance throughout its service life.

The absence of carrier within the membrane enables the natural flexibility and extensibility of the membrane to absorb any movement of the roof. The membrane also absorbs some of the dynamic wind loads applied to the roof, so reducing the loads transferred to the fasteners.

The membrane is fastened with Sika-Trocal metal discs or proprietary pressure plates, secured with thermally broken fasteners.

Laps are sealed with THF welding agent, with hot air sealing used at details.

Vapour control layer:

A 0.15 mm thick, polyethylene based, vapour control layer. S-Vap 500E is manufactured from low density polyethylene, blended to produce a vapour control layer that is flexible when cold, resistant to chemicals and ageing and rot proof. It is suitable for use in most mechanically fastened systems using the Sika-Trocal PVC membranes only. Not suitable for high humidity applications or under green roofs.
