Description

Roof Tile (RT) through-fix, pantile effect, polyisocyanurate insulated roof panel system designed to comply with contemporary Building Standards whilst maintaining a traditional look.

Features and benefits:

  • Provides all of the advantages of insulated panel technology with the aesthetic appeal of a traditional pantile roof finish.
  • Panels are immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
  • No urea-formaldehyde is used in the construction.
  • Panels are not deleterious.
  • An air leakage rate of 3 m³/hr/m² at 50 Pa or less can be achieved when the full building envelope is constructed using Kingspan panels.
  • Cover width: 1000 mm.

Applications:

Minimum pitch: 12° after deflection.

Approvals:

CE marked to BS EN 14509: 2013.

- Fire:

  • The external and internal faces of the panel to be Class 0 in accordance with the Building Regulations when tested to BS 476: Part 6: 2009 and Part 7: 1997).
  • The panel is rated SAA when tested to BS 476 Part 3: 20
  • FIREsafe: FM 4471 – Class 1 Roof panel systems
  • FIREsafe has passed all the requirements of LPS1181: 2005: Part 1: Issue 1.2, ceiling lining tests by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) certified to LPS 1181 Grade EXT-B.

Framed roof structure to be specified separately to include the following as required:

  • Multibeam purlins.
  • Multibeam eaves beams.
  • Cold-formed cleader angles.
  • Purlin cantilevers.
  • Cladding junctions.
  • Multichannel platform supports.
  • Multichannel trimmers.
  • Rafter stays (RNA/ RNB).

Warranties:

  • Maintenance and inspection free external coating: 40 years. Manufacturer’s external coating warranty to be available on project completion and be fully transferrable for future changes of building ownership.
  • Thermal performance: 25 years.
  • Structural performance: 25 years.

  • Kingspan AQUAsafe 55: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels to swimming pool internal environments.
  • Kingspan CLEANsafe 120: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels where a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is required, and the panels are to be cleaned down on a regular basis.

- Length:

  • Standard lengths: 2.1–11.5 m, or insert drawing reference.
  • Non-standard lengths of <2.1 m or 11.5–15.7 m are available on request; consult manufacturer for details.
  • Panel lengths are based on tile module of 325 mm plus 150 mm for cutbacks of 160 mm (standard) or 100 mm for 100mm cutbacks (for lengths of up to 6.275 m).

- Primary fasteners:

  • Minimum three fasteners for each purlin position at sides of panel (subject to wind loading; consult manufacturer's installation guide for details).
  • Air seal: 8 mm diameter non-setting, gun-grade butyl sealant to be applied at the ridge, eave purlin and rafters.
  • Hip/ valley ridge details: consult manufacturer's installation instructions for details.

- Secondary fasteners:

  • At all ridge locations, gun-grade sealant to be applied to top and bottom of the profile filler, which should be positioned 80–100 mm behind the ridge overlap edge to prevent bird attack.
  • Side laps: 6 mm diameter (approx.) bead of gun-grade sealant to be applied as per manufacturer installation instructions, for air and weather sealing.
  • Low profile colour-headed stitching screws to be installed in every tile module, positioned near the base of the steps at 325 mm centres.
