Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slab Extra is a BBA certified Rock Mineral Wool slab with the strongest mechanical performance in the range, designed for use in mechanically fixed flat roof build ups onto all types of roof deck.
Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are used for the thermal insulation of flat roofs. Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are suitable for use under all kinds of single ply membrane, hot applied bitumen systems and mastic asphalt and are suitable for maintenance foot traffic only. Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are suitable for use as an upstand board in warm roof applications when installed with the fixings and waterproof layer as detailed by the membrane manufacturer.

It is non-combustible with the best possible Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification, and is manufactured using Knauf Insulation's Krimpact® Technology.

Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, do not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. The product will have a life equivalent to that of the roof structure in which it is incorporated.
Standards and Certification
Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs have been assessed by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) under Certificate 08/4526 for use as a thermal insulation layer on limited access flat roofs with concrete, timber or metal decks. The certification offers contractors and specifiers utmost confidence that Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are fit for their intended use and will have a life equivalent to that of the roof structure in which it is incorporated, provided that it is stored and installed correctly. Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13162, ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, as certified by TÜV Nord.
Real performance:
Glass and Rock Mineral Wool are easier to install correctly than other insulants such as rigid boards because they adapt to any slight imperfections in the substrate and knit together, eliminating any air gaps. Evidence shows the absence of air gaps is crucial to achieving real performance in the relevant application.
Environmental:
Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs contain no ozone-depleting substances or greenhouse gases. For further environmental information consult the relevant Environmental Product Declaration, available on our website.
Moisture
The physical and chemical characteristics of the fibres are unaltered by wetting. Therefore the thermal properties of Rocksilk® RainScreen Slab are not affected by exposure to moisture and the product will perform as expected once dry.
Handling and storage
Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easily cut to size, where necessary. Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs are supplied loose on a hooded (4-LDPE) pallet which is designed for short term protection only. For longer term protection on site, the product should either be stored indoors, or under cover and off the ground. Rocksilk® Flat Roof Slabs should not be left permanently exposed to the elements.
