Application

Can be used on level timber or lightweight steel joist constructions, and on concrete subfloors.

Description

Softwood battens 47 x 1800 mm long (other sizes are available as a special order) with a 'double density' fibre resilient layer adhered to the underside. They contribute significantly to the reduction of impact and airborne sound through party floors.

On average it is expected that the resilient layer will compress by approximately 4 mm under normal loading.

Flanking strips

Guidance for specification option:

  • 6 mm thick, preformed ā€˜Lā€™ shaped, acoustic foam supplied in strips 1.8 m long.
  • It is lightly trapped between bottom of skirting and top of flooring board, with excess neatly trimmed off.

High load bearers around room perimeters.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Excessive deflection under areas of high loads, such as kitchen and bathroom furniture, can sometimes be lessened by using limited numbers of high density foam battens.
  • Also recommended for use on concrete subfloors at room perimeters.
