Acoustic ceiling applications.

Description

The ReductoClip Ceiling System ticks all the necessary boxes, adding high levels of mass and resilience to dampen sound energy from the structure.

Features and benefits:

  • Impact noise performance: 59 dB (LnT,w).
  • Airborne noise performance 64 dB (DnT,w)
  • High level of sound reduction - giving peace, quiet and privacy in any home.
  • Slimmest system of its kind - saving you space in your room.
  • Straightforward DIY installation - saving time and money.
  • Industry leading technical support - soundproof with confidence. Whatever the noise issue, whatever the question, we're here to help.

System includes (60 mm thickness):

  1. ReductoClips - decouple the mass layers from the timber joists and act like a shock absorbing suspension system to dampen high levels of sound energy and vibration
  2. ReductoClip Furring Channels - extra wide to make fixing acoustic plasterboards quicker and easier
  3. Acoustic Mineral Wool - dampens sound within the cavity to stop sound amplifying
  4. Acoustic Plasterboard - (two layers) to increase the mass of the ceiling. More mass and density than standard plasterboard but with the same finishing and decorating techniques
  5. FlexiSound 5 - viscoelastic membrane to add further mass to the ceiling. A different type of mass to reduce different sound frequencies to the other layers. FlexiSound also helps to dampen sound energy and vibration.

Specification data - Gypsum board suspended ceiling systems

Suspension grid

ReductoClip and furring bar.

Guidance for specification option:

ReductoClip™ 2.4m Furring Bar is used with the ReductoClip system for walls and ceilings.

This system offers the slimmest clip and bar solution on the market, delivering an exceptional performance against noise heard through your walls and ceilings and in helping to reduce the emotional stress caused by noisy neighbours.

Suspension grid fasteners

Self-drilling screws.

Insulation

Acoustic mineral wool.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Size: 600 mm x 1200 mm slabs.
  • Thickness: 100, 75, 50, 25 mm. Consult manufacturer for details and insert requirements.

This acoustic grade mineral wool slab is designed to offer the highest level of sound absorption in the cavity partitions of timber and metal party walls, and timer joists significantly improving acoustic performance and reducing reverberation.

Linings

Acoustic plasterboard (two layers).

Guidance for specification option:

Acoustic plasterboards have a higher density core than standard plasterboard and are designed for use in ceiling lining, wall lining and partition stud systems where greater levels of sound insulation are required. The higher density also offers higher impact and fire resistance.

Fasteners

Self-drilling screws.

Joint treatment

Plasterboard scrim tape.

Guidance for specification option:

Strong, flexible self-adhesive Fiberglass tape for covering drywall joints prior to texturing and finishing.

Finish

Finish plasters.

System accessories

Packers 28 x 5 mm.

Guidance for specification option:

For use with soundproofing product to keep a 5 mm distance from surrounding walls, ceilings and floors.

63 mm ReductoClip Fixing Kit.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Suitable for use with the ProSound ReductoClip system for use in to timber joist ceiling, brick/blockwork walls and Timber walls.
  • 63 mm long screw and plug kit.
  • Countersunk screw heads.
  • Screw diameter 5 mm.

Acoustic sealant.

Guidance for specification option:

Acoustic Sealant is a high strength, permanently flexible sealant and adhesive specifically formulated for sealing perimeters and gaps where sound may escape. Also used to dampen vibration around perimeters to reduce flanking vibration and filling and sealing any holes where services have been installed.

FlexiSound 5.

Guidance for specification option:

FlexiSound 5 is an ultra thin, self-adhesive, acoustic membrane which adds extra mass to a surface or structure to reduce sound transmission. Its unique anti-vibration properties allow it to dampen sound energy and increase performance at lower frequencies.
