Raybloc lead chevron bricks are for lining wall partitions in radiation-controlled areas that require heavy lead protection.
Raybloc lead chevron bricks are for lining wall partitions in radiation-controlled areas that require heavy lead protection. Ideal for projects in which the required lead thickness is 10mmPb or greater, to prevent radiation leakage from protected areas.
Where lead protection must reach levels higher than what can be achieved with leaded boards (10 mm Pb or higher), lead bricks assure effective radiation safety.
Lead brick shielding is extremely useful for highly energetic radiation projects, given an extensive amount of lead is required to attenuate high-energy radiation. These lead brick products are most commonly used for shielding in nuclear and healthcare scenarios where gamma radiation is concerned. However, depending on this application, the frequency of the emission from the radiation source, and the distance from the source to the wall, the thickness of the lead shielding required will vary. Raybloc’s heavy-duty lead bricks are available in thicknesses from 10–50 mm in 1 mm intervals to meet the exact requirements. The interlocking lead bricks vary in size with lengths from 450–900 mm to suit the project.
Chevron blocks are interlocking bricks with male and female V-shaped edges to provide a flush joint with zero potential for gaps between bricks. Unlike concrete or steel alternatives, the use of interlocking joints means these lead rails can be fixed easily for fast assembly in an efficient manner. This no-mess installation process makes lead bricks a quick, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution to radiation shielding, suitable for temporary and permanent radiation protection.
Wherever shielding is required to prevent the leakage of radiation, Raybloc will advise, supply, and install products to guarantee maximum protection to maximum quality. Interlocking chevron lead is absolutely no exception to this rule, and when dealing with expensive, expert projects such as those involving these lead blocks, compromise is inadvisable.
