Cold liquid applied PMMA system.
Once the surface is cleaned and fully prepared, RapidRoof Pro can be applied using a short piled roller or brush. Surface temperature during application must be between 0°c and 35°c. RapidRoof Pro should always be applied in 2 coats. All areas must be fully primed using RapidRoof Primer and RapidRoof BaseCoat should be fully reinforced using 150gsm reinforcement matting.
Cleaning the substrate
LRS recommend the use of a minimum 2000psi pressure washer to ensure the surface is suitably cleaned. If pressure washing is not possible, the contractor must deem the most appropriate method of cleaning that achieves a similar clean to that of a 2000psi pressure wash.
A clean and dry surface is critical for a successful bond of the RapidRoof system, if the surface is not sufficiently cleaned, RapidRoof will bond to this rather than the substrate it is intended for.
Fully prepared substrate
Ensure the substrate is fully prepared before applying any
RapidRoof Primer or RapidRoof Waterproof. All joints that are over 3mm should be filled using RapidRoof Multi Purpose filler or RapidRoof Pro Detailer. If these joints are not filled, this could lead to pinholes within the waterproofing membrane. All surfaces should be checked for cracks and damage, and repaired where necessary. Any repairs made using water-based concrete/sand cement will need to be completely dry, which is typically 28 days. Using RapidRoof Multi-Purpose Filler will reduce this time to one hour.
The whole surface requiring waterproofing must be fully
primed using LRS RapidRoof Primer, applied using a short
piled roller or brush, at a coverage rate of 0.3kg per m².
Ensure the RapidRoof Primer is mixed with the RapidRoof
Primer Catalyst for at least one minute, using a drill and
paddle mixer. All details should be primed a minimum
of 150mm up where possible. This will typically cure in 20 minutes. Always leave at least one hour before overcoating.
RapidRoof should be applied to all details and the main
roof area that requires waterproofing. This must be done in 2 coats, RapidRoof BaseCoat should be applied at a coverage rate of 1.25kg per m² using a short piled roller, and fully reinforced using 150gsm Reinforcement Matting.
The Reinforcement Matting must be fully saturated and
embedded, making sure the membrane is free from
creases and pinholes. Ensure the RapidRoof tins are gridded out over the roof area to allow accurate application of RapidRoof at the prescribed coverage rate.
Snagging
After one hour, the roof should be snagged to remove any
wicks created in the base coat stage of the application.
This can be completed by sanding the wick to remove it
with 80 grit sandpaper or similar, leaving a smooth surface.
RapidRoof TopCoat should be applied at a coverage rate of
0.75kg per m², ensure the tins are gridded out to achieve
the correct coverage rate.
RapidRoof Pro is backed by BDA is NHBC accepted and offers our manufacturers product guarantee of up to 20 years. With a typical cure time of 20 minutes, RapidRoof minimises disruption and delays onsite. And designed to cure down to 0°c allowing application during cold weather.
Designed for both refurbishment and new build projects, RapidRoof Pro can be applied to many surfaces including:
RapidRoof is our unique PMMA, seamless, self terminating, easy to apply, 2 component system. Available in grey (RAL 7031), anthracite (RAL7016) or black, with additional colours available upon request and minimum order quantities.
Its fully bonded application prevents tracking of water and its seamless finish eliminates the risk inherent in jointed systems. RapidRoof Pro can be applied without stripping the roof and disturbing the substrate, saving time and money, whilst limiting disruption on site.
