Application

  • For use in standard internal and external non-corrosive, inland environments.
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical applications.

Description

Through-fix, trapezoidal profiled, QuadCore™ insulated roofing panel system.

Features and benefits:

  • Panels are immune to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
  • No urea-formaldehyde is used in the construction.
  • Panels are not deleterious
  • An air leakage rate of 3 m³/hr/m² at 50 Pa or less can be achieved when the full building envelope is constructed using Kingspan panels.
  • Cover width: 1000 mm (2000 mm variation available; consult manufacturer for details).

Applications:

  • For use in standard internal and external non-corrosive, inland environments.
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical applications.

Approvals:

  • Verification: The system has an approved environmental profile with a BRE Ecopoints score of 0.46 Cradle to Grave over 60 year study period. Verifying authority: BRE Certification Ltd. Scheme Document SD 028.
  • CE marked to BS EN 14509: 2013.

- Fire:

  • Class 1 Surface spread of flame to BS 476 Part 6: 2009 and Part 7: 1997 (Class 0 as defined by the Building Regulations).
  • Reaction to Fire classification: B-s1,d0 to BS EN13501-1: 2007.
  • LPS 1181: 2014: Part 1: Issue 1.2, series of fire growth tests for LPCB approval and is certified to LPS 1181 Grade EXT-B.
  • SAA rated to BS 476 Part 3: 2004.

Panel:

- External facing:

  • Material: Metallic protected steel to BS EN 10346: 2009.
  • Thickness: 0.5 mm, nominal.
  • Fixing: Stitch to external face of panels at maximum 450 mm centres using secondary fasteners.
  • Sealing: Single line of 9 x 3 mm butyl rubber tape, Class A, ref: NFRC TB36, site applied between flashing and panel.

- Internal facing:

  • Material: Metallic protected steel to BS EN 10346: 2009.
  • Thickness: 0.4 mm.
  • Fixing: Stitch to internal face of panels at maximum 450 mm centres using secondary fasteners.
  • Sealing: Single line of SGV 20, 20 x 9 mm PVC foam tape (premier sealants) or similar, site applied between flashing and panel. End laps to be air sealed with film-backed butyl tape/ PremSeal SWRPIO or similar, or gun grade sealant.

- Core insulation:

HCFC-, CFC-, HFC-free LPCB certificated QuadCore hybrid insulation core.

- Thermal transmittance (U-value):

Calculated using the method required by the Building Regulations Part L2A (England & Wales) and Building (Scotland) Regulations Section 6: 0.15 W/m²K.

- Single figure weighted sound reduction index (Rw):

24 dB.

150 mm; Sealant: Triple line of factory applied weather seals (FAWS) on underside of panel cut-back.

  • Kingspan Spectrum: Coated semi-gloss finish with slight granular effect.

  • Kingspan CLEANsafe 15: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels. Standard colour is “bright white” with an easily cleaned surface.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe: Developed for use as the internal lining of insulated panels to suit high humidity internal environments.
  • Kingspan AQUAsafe 55: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels to swimming pool internal environments.
  • Kingspan CLEANsafe 120: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels where a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is required, and the panels are to be cleaned down on a regular basis.
  • Stainless steel: For use as the internal lining of insulated panels in buildings with a very aggressive/ corrosive internal environment.

- Primary fasteners:

  • Type: High threaded screws with bonded washers; Stainless steel or Anti-corrosion coated carbon steel; Washer: Non-ferrous, 19 mm diameter; Heads: Coloured plastic or painted.
  • Number/ location: Each panel fixed to each support using not less than three fastenings. Fix through every valley of profile, as recommended by cladding manufacturer.

- Secondary fasteners:

  • Type: Stitching screws with bonded washers; non-ferrous; 14 mm diameter washer; heads as primary.
  • Number/ location: Each panel fixed to each support using not less than three fastenings. Fix through every valley of profile, as recommended by cladding manufacturer.
