Torch-on reinforced spunbond polyester elastomeric bitumen membrane for use as an underlay or VCL to high performance Proteus capsheets and as part of Proteus roofing systems.
To be used as an under-layer in conjunction with Proteus Pro-Felt® built-up roof systems and Proteus Pro-Felt® capsheets. Capsheets are available with a sanded or mineral finish, and suitable for both refurbishment and new build projects.
Torch-on reinforced spunbond polyester elastomeric bitumen membrane with a polypropylene finish to be used as an underlay to high performance Proteus capsheets or as part of the Proteus built-up roof system range when installing directly to asphalt, concrete or felt.
When overlaying, there may be trapped moisture in the existing roof construction. Proteus Pro-Felt® Plain Dispersion Underlay has been engineered to bond to 50% of the surface, with bituminous stripes allowing moisture gases to dissipate under the layer via channels and avoid blistering from gases which expand as they warm up.
Features and benefits:
To be installed by roof torch flame-applied to the underside of the membrane. Ensure the bituminous stripes on the underside are heated to a sufficient level and are soundly adhered to the substrate. A partial bond of the membrane is to be achieved. All lap joints must be completely sealed, with a continuous 5 mm bitumen bead extruding from all laps. Side laps to be a minimum of 80 mm. End laps a minimum of 100 mm.
