A torch-applied, polymer-modified reinforced bituminous capsheet which is saturated and coated with high quality thermoplastic bitumen and anti-root additives.
Application
Designed for use as a high-performance anti-root capsheet and can be used as the final waterproofing layer for Pro-Living® extensive, intensive and bio-diverse green roof finishes on a variety of Proteus Waterproofing built-up roofing systems (e.g. Torch-Safe and full Torch-On specifications).
The product is compatible with all common bituminous underlay membranes.
Suitable for use on the following substrates:
- Timber (indirect application);
- Concrete;
- Metal (indirect application);
- Rigid insulation boards (indirect application).
- Existing bituminous or mastic asphalt membranes.
Appropriate for the following uses:
- Living green roofs.
- Also suitable for use with the Proteus Hot Melt® waterproofing system.
Description
The product is reinforced with non-woven polyester with glass fibre, a mineral finish on its upper surface, and a torch receivable film on its underside, and is specifically designed for waterproofing structures where the presence of vegetation is expected.
The combination of the reinforcement, the waterproofing mass characteristics and suitable additives with special chemicals ensure resistance against the penetration of roots and aggressive chemicals, such as fertilizers, herbicides, etc. whilst not affecting the life and health of plants. Additives are not leached by water and are resistant to the action of the blowtorch flame used for the application, therefore, the product exerts its function permanently.
