Horizontal work

Pro-BW® Primer.

Pro-Prime® SA.

Guidance for specification option:

  • For best results ensure that surfaces to be primed are free from oil or dust.
  • Apply Pro-Prime® SA by roller or brush at a rate min of 5 m²/lit (the green colour will indicate the treated area); refill roller if ‘cobwebbing’ appears. Avoid puddling of the primer.
  • Drying time will be affected by surface porosity, film thickness and temperature and can vary between 40-90 minutes.
  • Pro-Prime® SA will remain tacky even after dry.
  • To test, use the back of a glove or dry object to press into the primer and remove; there should be no transfer of primer when the primer is ready. It is essential that sufficient drying time is allowed as any entrapment of solvent will result in blistering/ delamination.
  • Only prime areas that will be covered with Pro-Carrier SA within 2-3 hours. Avoid walking over areas already primed.

Recyclability

In most cases, the Pro-BW® Plus membrane is designed to last until the building is taken down, since it can be readily retrofitted at the end of its lifespan, either with a new waterproofing solution or as a component of a thermal improvement. Upon the building's demolition, the membrane will be managed with the substrate onto which it is applied; it could therefore either be recovered for use as aggregate or disposed as mixed material.
