Protan UK Protected System - Prefabricated G Membrane - Warm Roof Construction

Protected PVC single-ply membrane roof system for warm roof constructions. Contains a fungicide for protection against microbe attack. It is FLL approved and has an anti-slip surface, which provides a significant safety factor when walked upon in wet weather.

Features:

• Suitable for new build and refurbishment applications on ballasted and protected flat roofs.
• The membranes are manufactured from pliable PVC reinforced with glass fibre.
• The PVC contains stabilizers, which make the product UV stable and resistant to both high and low temperatures, and remains flexible at low temperatures, during installation and use.
• Protan Prefabricated G membrane also contains a fungicide for protection against microbe attack and is FLL approved.
• Protan Prefabricated G membrane has a slip resistant surface, which provides a significant safety factor when walked upon in wet weather.

Durability:

Accelerated weathering tests and performance in service indicates that Protan Prefabricated G membrane should have a life in excess of 30 years.

Fire resistance:

• When used in protected specifications, including an inorganic covering listed in the Annex of Commission Decision 2000/553/EC, the products can be considered unrestricted under the national Requirements.
• Tests indicate that a system comprising an 18 mm thick orientated strand board (OSB) deck and a layer of Protan G fully adhered using a butanone adhesive will be unrestricted.

Substrates:

• Concrete roof decking.
• Plywood WBP to BS 5268–2 and BS EN 636–3, minimum thickness 18 mm.
• Profiled galvanized steel deck, minimum recommended thickness 0.7 mm to BS EN 10147 Fe E280G Z275.
• Roofing Grade OSB Board to BS EN 300, Grade 3, minimum thickness 18 mm.

Properties of waterproof membrane:

– Protan G:

• Thickness: 1.8 mm.
• Weight: ≥1.8 kg/m².
• Roll width: 2 m.
• Roll length: 15 m.
• Secret Fix Strips: 2.
• Tensile strength (EN 12311-2(A)): ≥500 N/50 mm.
• Elongation at break (EN 12311-2(A)): ≥200%.
• Tear strength (EN 13210-2): ≥120 N.
• Resistant to roof penetration according to FLL.
• Designed for use on ballasted or paved roofs.

Protection layer (recommended):

- Protan F2B Protection Fleece:

• Weight: 140 g/m².
• Material: Polypropylene.

- Protan F300M Protection Fleece:

• Weight: 300 g/m².
• Material: Polypropylene.

Vapour Control Layer (recommended):

– Protan PE Air Vapour Control Layer:

• Thickness: 0.2 mm.
• Colour: Blue.
• Water vapour resistance: >78m (Sd value), to BS EN 1931.
• Installation: Loose lay and overlap all side and end laps by minimum 150 mm and seal with double-sided mastic tape. Tape dimensions; 1.5 mm x 60 mm.
• Insulation must be mechanically fixed.

– Protan Self-Adhesive Air Vapour Control Layer:

• Thickness: 0.6 mm.
• Colour: Black/ Foil Top Surface.
• Water vapour transmission: >1,500 m (Sd value), to BS EN 1931.
• Installation: Apply Protan vapour control layer primer. Lay membrane and overlap all side laps by 60–80mm and all end laps by at least 150 mm. Apply pressure evenly.
• Insulation can be mechanically fixed or adhered.

Insulation (recommended):

• ROCKWOOL Hardrock, Multi-Fix, Dual Density (DD), stone mineral wool board - Inclusive system warranty available, contact manufacturer.
• Kingspan polyisocyanurate -Inclusive system warranty available, contact manufacturer.

Separating layer:

• F2B Fleece.
