Plasterboard access panel 1000/BF/PD/BL

The 1000PD series range of steel lockable access panels provides access into jointless plaster/ plasterboard ceilings, where access to mechanical and electrical services is required.

Features and benefits:

• The metal frame holds a plasterboard faced door through a pivot hinge system. The door is held closed with a concealed budget lock (BL) which opens towards the user. The pivot hinge system allows the door to be removed during installation or if damage occurs. Panels are skim plastered and decorated on site to match the colour/texture of the adjacent finish. A constant 2 mm gap is maintained between the door and frame by the dome location system.
• Doors are removable if damage occurs or during installation. Panels with simulated dry wall beaded frames (BF) are then decorated on site to match the colour/ texture of the adjacent finish.
• 1000/BF/PD/BL can be used horizontally where the panel is being installed prior to any tape and jointing or skim-coat plastering.
• Customization of the access panel may be possible including alterative sizes, lock and paint colours, consult manufacturer for details.
• Foam dust gasket to all sides of door.
• 1000/BF/PD/BL:
• Frame: 1.2 mm thick, electro-galvanized carbon steel, incorporating a simulated edge bead profile. Factory welded to specified size and finished white powder coated primer.
• Door: 1.2 mm thick, electro-galvanized carbon steel frame finished etch white primer and enclosing 9.5 mm standard plasterboard infill, operated from front face with an 8 mm square key (included). Includes foam strip to prevent any rattle. A white round removable cap on the door face conceals the keyhole.
• 1000/PF/PD/BL:
• As above except for picture frame (replacing beaded frame).
• AC1000/BF/PD/BL and AC1000/PF/PD/BL:
• Acoustic versions of the above access panel, which include acoustic gasket update and mineral wool door infill. Sound insulation: 30 Rw dB.
• The acoustic panels have been tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-3 at a UKAS accredited facility.
• A range of access panels to suit sound absorbent ceilings, such as Rigitone or Gyptone are available, along with a bespoke design service. Consult manufacturer for details.
