Passivhaus Brickseal – Liquid-Applied Airtight Sealant for Masonry - Single Coat Masonry Protection System

Product application:

• Purpose: Create an airtight seal across masonry surfaces, preventing uncontrolled air leakage and ensuring continuity of the building’s airtightness layer.
• Substrates: Suitable for brick, blockwork, stone, mortar joints, and other porous mineral surfaces.
• Typical areas of use:
  • Junctions between brick/block walls and windows, doors, or structural elements.
  • Gaps, cracks, and imperfections in masonry walls.
  • Service penetrations and junctions between dissimilar materials where airtightness is required.
  • Integration with airtight membranes, tapes, and liquid-applied coatings.

Preparation:

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, laitance, grease, or loose particles.
• Remove friable material and brush down surface prior to application.
• Prime highly absorbent surfaces with compatible Intelligent Membranes primer if required.

Application method:

• Apply using a stiff brush to work product into joints, cracks, and surface texture.
• Ensure continuous coverage with no pinholes or gaps.
• Apply at a wet film thickness of approximately 1–2 mm.
• For wider gaps, embed reinforcing fleece or apply in multiple coats.

Conditions:

• Ambient and substrate temperature: Minimum +5°C during application and curing.
• Protect from rain and frost until fully cured.
• Allow product to cure before overcoating with membranes, renders, or finishes.

Clean-up:

• Clean tools with water immediately after use.
