Paralon Warm Roof System
Description

The Paralon Warm Roof System combines high performance modified bitumen waterproofing with a vapour control and thermal insulation layer, and is designed for use on concrete, metal or timber roofs. It can be used in a variety of applications, such as roofs (flat, laid to fall or inverted) and concrete podium decks. Systems approved by FM Global and incorporating Tecsound 50AL acoustic insulation to achieve an Rw36dB reduction are also specifiable.

Installation is undertaken by approved, trained installers and Moy Materials technical staff conduct interim site inspections with reports issued to all parties. Upon completion, a 20 year material and workmanship warranty is issued by Imper Italia. Maintenance is limited to twice yearly cleaning of outlets.

  • Vapour control layer: Concrete or metal deck – 2 mm Vapobar 1. Timber deck – 3 mm Paralon Sticker Thermo self adhesive vapour barrier.
  • Thermal insulation: 100 mm Paratorch composite board, on 80 mm Paratherm G. Overall thickness 180 mm to achieve 0.14 W/mK U-Value.
  • Waterproofing base layer: 3 mm Paralon Top S membrane.
  • Waterproofing cap layer: 4 mm Paralon ARD/ HS Plus granular surfaced membrane.

- Flat:

As 'Laid to falls'. Thermal insulation must be tapered 1 in 60 to allow rainwater run-off.

- Inverted:

  • Decking: Concrete only.
  • Waterproofing base layer: 3 mm Paralon Top S.
  • Waterproofing cap layer. 4 mm Paralon NT4 Plus.
  • Thermal insulation: 200 mm extruded polystyrene to achieve 0.14 W/mK U-Value.
  • Separation layer: 300 g/m² polypropylene fleece.
  • Ballast: Concrete paving slabs on paving support pedestals or selected round and washed pebble ballast.

- Concrete Podium Deck:

  • Decking: Concrete only.
  • Waterproofing base layer: 3 mm Paralon Top S.
  • Waterproofing cap layer. 4 mm Paralon NT4 Plus.
  • Drainage and protection layer: 8 mm Tefond Plus.

- FM Global approved:

  • Decking: Concrete or metal.
  • Vapour control layer: Permate Kraft Laminate.
  • Thermal insulation: 20 mm rigid Eraboard S on 160 mm Paratherm F. Overall thickness 180 mm to achieve 0.14 W/mK U-Value.
  • Waterproofing base layer: 3 mm Paralon Top S membrane.
  • Waterproofing cap layer: Paralon ARD/S.

- With Rw36dB Acoustic Insulation:

  • Decking: Metal only.
  • Vapour control layer: Tecsound 50AL.
  • Thermal insulation: 100 mm Paratorch composite board on 80 mm Paratherm G. Overall thickness 180 mm to achieve 0.14 W/mK U-Value.
